Also, if you think about it, Kirby is still a monster. He destroys houses, eats everybody and almost destroys the universe on a daily basis. His reason: cake!
Yeah when you think about it.. Kirby may look cute but he basically eats everything for a cake. Also Kirby is kinda different from other Nintrndo protagonists as while the others are on a journey to save the world/kingdom/princess/whatever Kirby just wants his cake/ other snack bacl and will do pretty much EVERYTHING for a cake. The only other expection is the pokemon series...I mean in most of them you start as a trainer who wants to become a champion and just stop the evil team because someonr has to do it and you are thr best guy for the job
Also in Kirby games there are some expections. Such as in Return to dreamland... in tgat game your goal was to help Magolor...who was revealed to be a backstabbing son of an egg
I loved in Epic Yarn when you went to the level Cozy Cabin. The level basically involves Kirby breaking into houses at night and destroying them. Then he dances on the ruins with Prince Fluff. What a monster!
Yep, Kirby is like a child. He is not evil, but never realizes his actions have consequences. He gets betrayed by villains too. I knew something was up in Return to Dream Land when Magolor was just too nice.
Also if I remember correctly if you talk to Magolor before fighting against Landia he says "lets be friends forever and ever". Considering what happens after the said faith it is even crueler imo.
Wow, he says that?! That is so cruel! I'll have to read that quote next time I beat the game. I get Triple Deluxe on Friday! Let's hope Kirby does not destroy the universe.
Yeah, he will. Kirby is a blood-thirsty, genocidal maniac.
Well it may not be the exact words but still he said something like that. His cruelity is one of the reasons I prefer him to Marx. Marx only appeared in the beginning of Milky way wishes scenario and then at the end so his betrayal didmt affect that much. Magolor on otherhand was there all time giving advice only to stab your back at the end. (Also if you go to talk to him at his ship during the game he may tell some...interesting stuff)
I thought that Triple deluxe was about climbing a beanstalk and (oddly enough) saving DeeDee man from a creepy/cute spider mage (at least I find Daranza/Taranza cute) not destroying universe.
Exactly. Kirby can start with the most innocent intentions and then destroy everything!
I also prefer Magolor over Marx. All around better character. We agree on this! Yay! I like talking to him on the ship, actually. He is so funny with his high fives, low fives.
When i think about it, ever noticed that each time Luigi is involved it's alway some stuffs that involve the dimensional fabric ?
I mean in Spm the multiverse is threatned and luigi's main ennemy is a master of dimensions, in SMG we get some universal reboot along with alternate timelines and wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff that allow two Luigis to coexist at same time (it happen again in LM:dark moon with four luigis and Luigi Bros), in SM3DL Luigi is kidnaped by a Bowser from an alternate universe, in LM:DM you have distortion in the dimensional fabric, paranormality that threaten to collapse a dimension, a master of illusions that can create dimensional illusions and in DT Luigi fight a god that tear dimensional holes and a master of dreams and illusions which can also create his own realms.
Tl;dr Luigi is far more likely to destroy the universe than Kirby because most of his adventures always end up with bizzare stuffs that mess with the space-time continuum

Hah, good point! Luigi and Kirby are a threat to the universe. I always knew about Kirby being oblivious and dangerous, but darn, Luigi is just as bad. Kirby does more damage on his own, but Luigi is a dangerous pawn for strong villains. Yikes!
Point is, Mario and the crew better keep their enemies close and their friends closer.

Also back in the early days King DeeDeeDee man was the final boss of Kirby games. Now we have creeppy eyeballs and other nightmare fuel (correct me if im wrong tho
Nightmare fuel is about right. The first game just had a simple fight in a boxing ring with King Dedede. Then it all went to hell and became a universe of madness! MADNESS!
Then again, I guess each series has to grow somehow. Look at Mario Kart. We are driving underwater now. How freaky! I would never have imagined that we would be doing that back when I was calling for Lakitu to haul me out of the water back on the N64.
Kirby's monsters are the water of the series. Something to keep it fresh. Even if it scares us to death.
Yes. Kirby is a sugarcoated madness. I mean we have talked about Kirby destroying the universe.
Exactly. A series need to grow and get a bit new ideas. Also the Mario franchise in general is a good example as well. Who would have thought a simple platforming series would grow to something huge with many different types of games.
The dark side of Kirby is one of the main reasons I love the series so much.
I like Kirby for being a light, pleasant game. It is not hard, and no time limits on levels except for Revenge of Meta Knight, but that was awesome! I just hum and stroll around.
However, I am also obsessed with the darkness in the series as well. It is fun to see. I like dark themes in otherwise innocent games. Paper Mario does this well. Rogueport was crazy and so much fun because of all the fun stuff and depressing stuff.
Rogueport was the deepest town in the series, I'd say. Gang sars, shady characters, lottery shops, arcades, story tellers, hard working sailors, shops, pubs. Do you remember the little kid toad who was neglected by his parents? His mom spent all their money playing at the arcade all day and his father wrote novels and ignored him. So he was all alone. That was a deep bit of character for an NPC most will not talk to.
Yeah, it was the first Mario game for me to really highlight mature themes. I was blown away. It felt like GTA Mario at first with a gang war at the very start of the game! Mafia all over the place. Yikes! Oh, and skulls on the fence! Skulls! The gallows in the town square basically set the mood for the whole game.
WHY PINK GOLD PEACH ? AND MOSTLY WHY BABY ROSALINA ? IF THEY WANTED SO MUCH A YOUNG VERSION OF HER, COULD THEY HAVE JUST PUT CHILD ROSALINA FROM HER STORYBOOK ?
WRRRYYYY NINTENDO ? WRRRRRYYYYYY ARE YOU SO LAZY ?!!! WRRRRRYYYYYY ?!!!
