Toxicroak, Nidoking, Crobat, Venusaur, Vileplume, Scoliopede, and Drapion.
Drapion is wonderful for triple battles with his acupressure raising the stats sharply of the others, and is quite the wall. I also use mine with the elemental fangs for coverage.
I actually had a Scolipede in my white team but alas I didnt use her til end. A quite good pokemon tho
Also is poison your favorite type? My favorites are flying, steel, dark and ghost in that order. Oddly enough my favorite Pokemon (Eelektross) is an electric type pokemon but otherwise most of my favorites are in those types
Hmm, my favorites are Poison, Ghost, and Fighting. I also love Dark. No idea on my order, though, but I do find Poison to be the most appealing along with ghost. I plan on making a Poison Team on my next X run to try my single typing run.
I got another Mewtwo last night on X to complete my Gen 1 team. I like it enough, but I still prefer Mew.
Honchkrow is another great Pokemon. The Flying/Dark Pokemon is great alongside Staraptor. A flying team with them would rock, unless somebody actually used rocks, then they would suck.
Hippowdon is another Pokemon I like. The massive attack stats and instant sandstorm really helps teams that use sand evasion. I also love how the males look different than the females. I saw this Pokemon in an episode of Pokemon Pearl and knew that I had to get one someday and now I finally have one of my own! ^_^
I want to list Dialga and Palkia on here as some of my favorite Legendary Pokemon. They each have their own, personal move like Roar of Time and they have awesome designs. I loved the lore dedicated to them in Pearl and that made me so excited to see them. They were also my first caught Legendaries.
I know right. Its so amazing i love using one so badly
Yes. ^^ I used to use one a lot on Pokémon Battle Revolution when I did some competitive battles. Even though the opponents often used legendaries on random Wi-Fi, Choice-Band Staraptor could deal with them, it could take down a lot of them in one hit (even Dialga) or two. Staraptor has a weakness in being a tad frail in regards to taking hits, however, I feel that is less of a problem for non-competitive play.
Incidentally, I like to try Pokémon for their design even if they aren't really good competitively.
Togekiss is one if the coolest. Thunder Wave, Air Slash, and Serene Grace is trollish. I also used one in the battle tower in Pearl. Plus, roosting and high special defense makes it a wall.
Tyrantrum is great too. Dinosaur and dragon. I love its movepool and it was my first fossil Pokemon in the new games. It reminds me of Rampardos.
Yes. Togekiss is so cool (and adorable)!
Yeah, dinosaur and dragon is an awesome combination. It reminds me of vivosaurs from Fossil Fighters, which have some vivosaurs with great designs and some that are good but not so great.
Yeah, I put an Assault Vest on him to help take Special hits, but he still gets clobbered.
Butterfree - I love this little guy, but sadly he seems forgotten. His Quiver Dance raise Special Attack, Speed, and Special Defense and he can use Sleep Spore and Stun Spore. Moves like Bug Buzz and Psychic keep him strong. He is very underrated.
You're not the only one. I love Butterfree too. Recently I replayed Pokémon Yellow and used one. In a replay of Pokémon XD, I remember training Butterfree as well, likely from the Shadow Butterfree in Cipher Key Lair. Unfortunately I have heard someone say that Venomoth outclasses it, though I personally like Butterfree over Venomoth.
For similar reasons (Quiver Dance and Sleep), I also like Lilligant, but not as much as Butterfree.
I never actually used a butterfree but I see interesting... I rarely see him mentoin
If we are going nostalgic then pretty much every hoenn starter, lileep / cradily and Empoleon are mons I love because of n o s t a l g i a /sentimental value
I like Cradily (though it's not one of my favourites) and once raised a competitive one. I really like Empoleon too. Great design, an armored penguin, I think that's an awesome idea.
These are the starters that I've ended up training for each generation and make me the most nostalgic; Charmander, Chikorita/Totodile (I like Chikorita best), Torchic, Snivy, Froakie.
I feel Charizard is a really iconic Pokémon, lots of people like Charizard and it represents Pokémon in a nice way like Pikachu. I think the Chikorita line is pretty, I love Torchic because I've always been passionate about chickens, Snivy line because it's cool and using Coil is a good strategy to stay on the field and beat powerful opponents, Froakie I do not relate to as much, but it was my starter out of the other Generation VI choices so I have memories with it, in particular using it for sweeping opponents in the Lumiose City's "Le Wow" restaurant (I think) multiple times for evolving Pokémon to complete the dexes.
Nidoking - I love this guy! He can be an attacker and a special attacker and his movepool is deadly. Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Surf provides great coverage. Poison typing makes him stick out now as a Fairy slayer. Besides, his design is just awesome, even if he looks like a purple Rhydon.
I agree. Nidoking is great. Additionally, although you often see only physical Lickilicky competitively, I had a friend (who I've unfortunately lost touch with) who used one with special moves like Ice Beam. My friend who used to be active on the Glitch City Laboratories boards also liked Lickilicky, although it's not one of my favourites.
Clefable is also a great Pokémon who can make great use of special attacks and has the advantage of being a Fairy if the foe has Dragon, Dark or Fighting type Pokémon on the field. It has grown on me a little as I used it for my replay of Pokémon Yellow recently.
Another interesting Normal type Pokémon is Dunsparce. Some people think it is weird, and it is not always that good, but I like it and think it should receive an evolution. Thunder Wave and Headbutt/Rock-Slide can cause many Pokémon to flinch, like how Togekiss can.
I never used Nidoking but sounds awesome. I need to use him or his female counterpart sometime
and also whrres the love for ghost types. Gengar is awesome, dusknoir is awesome everyrging is awesome
Gengar, yeaaah. I've always liked Gengar for its cartoonish look. I think it may be my second favourite Ghost-type Pokémon. My favourite Ghost-type other than Giratina and Gengar is Chandelure. It has a cool design and Flash Fire helps it.
But if we continue with the main topic what about Crobat? I personally found him to be pretty useful thanks to that high speed
I agree. Crobat's speed is amazing. It can also Taunt, Toxic, Confuse Ray foes and this has the potential to shut them down. Only a few Pokémon like Jolteon, Electrode, Sceptile, Aerodactyl, etc. have speeds that tie with it or outspeed it.
What are our favourite Eevolutions? My favourite is probably Espeon, but I like them all. Though Flareon is my least favourite if I had to choose.

Honestly I am like you torchickens. I like pokemon for design than competivity. I believe that many pokemon have potential to be useful. Besides every pokemon needs a weakness. Gigalith for instance has really good defense and attaxk but its really slow. If you know what you are doing its an useful tank or supportive wall that can weaken your opponent with stealth rock or sandstormfor instance. Other examples are Slaking who is hugely powerful but its ability hinders it being too OP or Eelectross who is a great psychical attacker with above avreage defence and speed but its movepool levelig up is kinda limited (it can learn a lot of things via tm but still). Every mon has its ups and downs (even the godlike legendaries) Like that one e4 member said it doesnt matter if tou train strong pokemon or weak pokemon in the end orsomething like that.
Durnspace is weird but interesting imo ^^. Chandelure and giratina yaaassss
My favorite Eevelution? Glaceon probably
As for raiby I always loved Dialga and Palkia for their lore. They are so interesting. I prefer Giratina tho. Basically the centipede devil and just interesting and cool. Giratina is my second favorite legendary
Suicune is a legendary i like. I dont reallyknow why . Probably the design and its cameos in the anime
Latias is also on my favorite list. Flying around with them on Alpha Sapphire is amazing and makes you feel like you actually part of the Pokemon world. Latios is in Omega Ruby and is also very cool. I love Latias's Mega Evolution and the ability to recover goes well with the defensive boosts.
I never tried Dunsparce to be honest. So many people get confused by that Pokemon, though. Some think it is Water, or Electric, or Psychic.
Flareon is also my least favorite form of Eevee. Leafeon is my favorite since Pearl.

That's well said. Pokémon with weaker stats can still be valuable team members if you train them well. I feel it makes it more fun and challenging to go through the game with your favourites, rather than just choosing Pokémon viewed to be good.
Different Pokémon have different strengths and weaknesses like you say, a Pokémon could be good at stalling the opponent until their HP is down or it may be good at supporting other team members (through Reflect/Light Screen, Heal Bell, Toxic, etc.) even if it isn't really good at attacking alone.
Yeah, the quote is from Karen in Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, SoulSilver. The quote is "Strong POKéMON. Weak POKéMON. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites." in HeartGold/SoulSilver, they changed the last sentence to "Truly skilled trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best".
Glaceon. Cooool.
Here is how I order the Eeveelutions (1 being my favourite, 5 being my least favourite).
I have an Umbreon called Lunar that is a Curse, Wish, Protect, Payback set. The idea is to put it against a Pokémon that isn't too strong, set up against it, healing with Wish and Protect when necessary and hit with Payback. It can become surprisingly strong if it sets up, even though it has one attacking move.
Cool. Yeah, I remember you telling me you like the lore in Pokémon games.
I like Suicune too. I think it's the best out of the legendary beasts. It looks really cool and is also a great tank.

Cool. Yes, Latias and Latios are great. They are really reliable team members.
There is another Pokémon I really like. Lanturn. I think it's adorable and I love its Water/Electric typing. I have one with a Chesto Berry knowing Surf, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Rest. It's not that strong and this set falls to Grass types but I still like using it. Similar to me using Emolga I guess.
It has proved a valuable team member in my G/S/C/HG/SS playthroughs.
I always go with my favorites, or designs. I very rarely value stats since I am not worried about being competitive. It would ruin the game for me if I had to worry about the natures, EVs and IVs of every Pokemon, especially with Legendary Pokemon. I know people who catch one Pokemon all day waiting for the right nature and stat distribution and it seems miserable. I just want to use various teams on the fly, not spend all day waiting for a Naive Hawlucha with Flying Press and high attack in a forest. Wow.
Just got Regis! Ice, Rock, Steel, and Gigas. Slow Start is such an awful ability.

I recently found out that Entei, Suicune, Raikou, and the Regis are allowed in Battle Maison in the Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby post game. This means teams can be all legends if you team them with the others like Heatran or Azelf plus others. I am going to experiment with various teams.
Thanks, buddy! ^_^ Regis are so hard to get because of the various puzzles, but worth it. Hoopa is getting Omega Ruby soon, but do any of you own Alpha Sapphire or X/Y? If so what do you think? I enjoy the variety in X. Being able to get a Butterfree at the start was refreshing after all these years.
I only value stats to see what role I should use that pokemon and think what moveset I should use but other than that I dont care that much and I dont care that much for good IVs/EVs (if i have a mon with them thrn good if i dont then its fine). even if the mon is weaker than some other alternatives if I like it enough i may use it. I just use the pokes i like even if i try to make my team balanced bothnin types and roles. I do care for good abilities thl. A lot of mons i like (like Jellicent or Bisharp) have really good abilities
Yeah I like the lore in pokemon (or in anygamw s really. Lore/worldbuilding is my thing). I especially like the lore/backstory surrounding legendary pokemon. Its interesting in my opinion. I also like Jirachi i think its really cute : D. A legendary I really like is Kyurem. I really like its design and think its backstory/lore surrounding it is very interesting. Its a really cool pokrmon overall
Congrats Rainy for the Regis. Yeah regigias ability is dumb but it would be kinda brokem otherwise.
A pokemon i really like despite never using is Milotic. I really like its design and think its ability (competive ) is extremely useful. Its like special attack version of defiant
Also rainy i am getting Alpha sapphire. My closest IRL friend owns Omega ruby so I thought i will buy the opposite version
Blaziken: Really badass fighter and it feels awesome to raise one. Also, Gen 6 added Mega Blaziken, making him even cooler. Gardevoir: A really good mix of cute and cool/calm/serene. Also, its stats are pretty good or at least above average, only downside is that her movepool is sometimes a bit lacking IMO and generally low physical defense. Staraptor: Super cool bird Pokémon, looks a lot cooler than Pidgot and is a lot more fun to use. Sadly its base stats are a bit average/below average IMO, it needs a Mega Evolution or buff IMO. Volcarona: It's design looks badass and its moveset is totally epic. Dusknoir: One of the darker-themed Pokémon. It looks badass and the Dusknoir in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers was really good as a character. In the main series I never use one tho cause of its crippled stats. Torterra: Its design looks cool and its fun to use, its sheer defense and pretty good attack stat and movepool and good typing make it a cool starter.
But the most of all...
GROVYLE!
The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers one to be precise. I love that character. He's a great character in all senses of the word.
Fun facts 'bout me: -I'm bisexual. -I am a huge Mario fan. Also Kingdom Hearts and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers of Sky. -I am making fangames and original projects: check out Super Mario RPG: The Prism Stone in the Fan Creations forum! -I have Asperger's Syndrome. -I am shy but I am friendly and don't dislike others for no reason.
I just got Salamence and Garchomp on alpha Sapphire. I also got Metagross, so my collection of my favorite Pokemon is growing. I like giving proper moves to Pokemon too, like Garchomp gets physical moves. Other than that, I ignore natures and such most of the time.
