Can I just gush about the credits theme for a second?
(Vague spoilers, but not really. How do I hide them?)
The game itself still hasn't won me over, but oh my stars, this song is stunning.
It's fully orchestrated, which immediately stands out against the samey jazz of the other songs. I love how it switches instrumentation several times, as it shifts through the leitmotifs of the different worlds. I'm not gonna lie, I got legit chills during the pirate segment at 5:10, and then again at the last, grand finale. ...Guys, I think this might be the best song in the entire series.
If only the rest of the game lived up to it.

Apparently someone on Reddit pointed out the second part of the final boss music has some of the Paint stars's leitmotif, so i guess it's still possible there is black paint star assisting Bowser but i'm not putting my hopes up

mrbowser: Who said I was refer to the organ, like SM64 had that and DT (Also NSMB series loves it) so not something out of it. It just the medaly itself. The begin feel right but then it shifts into something that sound more like religious vibe. It odd for Bowser to have but who know maybe Bowser will end up have a few twist of his own.
Edit: sorry didn't see that extra page.
Soundtrack sounds amazing as always. MRPG's have yet to disappoint as of yet in that area.

Finally the Koopalings have their own themes, sweet! You have no idea how long I have waited from them to have one. Now the final boss, any snoopy will get you your answer.
Bowser is responsible for creating the black paint accidentally but the paint itself is what really drives the conflict of the game so it is technically the real villain of the game. You never fight just the paint itself and it doesn't have any kind of personality though, it's just a malicious force.

I think I might like this as much as the original. Sure it follows in SS's footsteps but it fixes nearly every problem I had with that game... Bowser talks... Luigi talks... the partner is likable, the ending is sad... the battle system isn't bad either, despite what some may say. The only problem that remains is the lack of OCs other than Huey (but I still liked him) Did I mention the ending is freaking SAD? I daresay it's only topped by SPM in that department. Huey was a likable character and he actually blows up in the sky like a firework, painting the sky black... and doesn't get wished back to life or anything. Even Tippi and Bleck are hinted to still be alive, but Huey... actually might be the first major protagonist in a Mario RPG to permanently die. Correct me if I'm wrong, but either way I can't say I didn't shed any tears.
Personally, I like how the black paint is basically a new villain in this game. Yeah, you don't fight it independently of Bowser, but it's nice to see a new malevolent force that's controlling Bowser against his will. Very like Bowletta and Shrowser in the Mario & Luigi games.
On another note, Nintendo's new marketing campaign is a tad flawed...

The game feels fantastic and already it's a better SS than SS's butts. XD
Been a fan of the Paper Mario series ever since I started playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii... No joke! XD I saw a few ads and commercials about the Paper Mario series. But I didn't start playing them for the story until I played the third game in the series. Ever since then? Many games of 2016 have come and challenge what we consider as story driven games now. UnderTale and recently FNAF's World. I hope that someday I can create my own game based upon the Paper Mario series and pay tribute.

Plus we've run the gambit for possessed main characters as final bosses for the PM series. A possessed Peach, Luigi, and now Bowser.

We need possessed Mario next! Imagine switching to Luigi or Peach or Bowser for the final boss fight!
