Did we know about the clay style, though? Oh well. We still have magical powers!
Yoshi's Story is one of the most criminally underrated games of all time. It gets so much hate, but I love it to pieces. It was not as good as Yoshi's Island and was different, but that does not make it bad.
Yep, his games are traditional and unique. Epic Yarn was unique, but we also got Return to Dream Land which was traditional. He gets the best of both worlds and because of that he is not stale.
I think they are afraid to make other series too different. I mean Sunshine and Mario Bros. 2 were different and they were not as well liked. Wind Waker and Skyward Sword were different and fans were split on those games. Kirby even divided his fanbase with Epic Yarn, but Nintendo takes more chances with him.
Well, I hated Skyward Sword, but I never complained about the series not changing and I loved the unique games like Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask and Wind Waker.
I want each series to stay fresh though like Kirby with both experimental games and traditional. Like Zelda has A Link Between Worlds as the traditional game, so now they can have an experimental one next.
True, Thousand-Year Door was a huge improvement even though it stayed true to the formula, whereas SPM was an improvement, but changed so much. I agree.
I am fine with any of these paths. Kirby falls into all of these categories. Triple Deluxe stayed similar, but improved so Rainbow Cruise is more experimental, but will hopefully improve.
