Just a pll I made up because I have thought this for a while...because why not . Just some mixture of already exsisting villains, as well some ideas I have had for new ones.

As for myself I want to see a new villain. Preferably either an evil prince or a music themed one. I also hope that the next new villain would pretend to be your ally at first...only to stab your back in the end. I really need this, since we don't have any "Magolor" like villains in Mario franchise -.-. Decided to give my vote for the evil prince one, because I NEED A BISHOUNEN VILLAIN IN MARIO RPGS AS WELL

Technically Elder Shroob Princess was a Magolor-type villain since she was pretending to help you as the Cobalt Star.

But Tas must first come back and have his story finished properly before we can move on a new villain.

I want Antasma as I expect the next RPG to be a Mario and Luigi game.

I want a new Villain if it is a new Paper Mario, though. Music-based villain sounds pretty cool. As long as it is not like Tiki Tong and his crew.

Shroobs could also return along with Antasma for a role, but not as the main villains. Similar to how Popple came back, but maybe more so than his few scenes.

Paper Mario does well with a new villain every game. Mario and Luigi does better with continuing stories.

Paper Mario gets credit for finishing stories though, so this is not an insult. Compare Bleck with Antasma and the way their stories ended. Alphas Dream has a blessing and a curse.

The stories have more cameos and often reference past events and games. Paper Mario also changes more drastically now with each title it seems.

Mario and Luigi's weakness is the tutorials and gimmicky controls like giant battles, stylus mini-games, and lame gyro controls. To me those are the main weaknesses. I actually love that they bring back villains like Fawful or side characters like Kylie or Popple.

Paper Mario has some cameos, but I would love to find a mystery novel written by Pennington or see Flavio in the background at sea or something.

Both are quirky, no doubt. Just like Mario RPG, but Paper Mario has it the most to me. Pennington, Flavio, King K. and Bandy Andy, Punion, Flint Cragley, Squirps. The list is far larger than Mario and Luigi, despite less games since Sticker Star did not count.

Mario and Luigi focuses on more situational and slapstick humor though.

At the risk of echoing what's already been said, Antasma should be the main villain of the next Mario & Luigi installment, while the next Paper Mario should have a new villain altogether. However, in the former's case, I get the feeling that Antasma will simply get a cameo to foreshadow his role for the very next game, if Fawful's appearance in Partners in Time is any indication. If it does come to that, then here's hoping the main villain will be someone other than Bowser, without them half-assing him into the final boss slot again.

I agree, while i'm ok that Bowser could get the spotlight at least once in the M&L series, i'm definitely not ok with Tas's treatement (his lack of screentime, characterization, being a red heering for Bowser and his shoddy end) and feel that he should come back, so he could actually shine as an antagonist.

I considered that Antasma may return next game and then become the villain in the next game after that similar to Fawful. I really hope he gets at least that much. I hope he comes back immediately though and strikes while he is still relevant. Fawful was a special case of popularity.

I do hope the next M&L is a direct sequel, specially that unlike Fawful who only muttered his revenge plan in PiT, Tas directly mentioned he was gonna take his revenge on Bowser once he was done with Dreambert & the Bros.

So a direct sequel work since here we got a pissed off Tas who unlike Fawful will take no-time to carry out his threats.

I'm not even happy with cameos unless they just mention him or find a statue of him. I liked his exit and his final arc in Peach's Castle was my favorite final area. It ended perfectly with him exploding with a huge smile on his face.

I think Tas should bring him back for a boss battle, by using the small amount of him still alive in Bowser. If there is any.
