~~Intro~~
Before Smash 4, most people didn't even know about Shulk or his franchise. I will admit that I was in this majority that knew of neither. Then one day I was being me, chilling on youtube being all amazing and somehow managed to stumble on Nintendo's announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles: 3D. I thought the game looked like it had a really amazing story, but the gameplay looked a bit too complex for my liking. At the end of the video, they announced that it would be New Nintendo 3DS exclusive, and that was what turned me off from it completely; I didn't have a New 3DS or plan on getting one anytime soon. A few weeks later, my life would change forever.
It was a bright saturday morn and it was easy to see
I was enjoying my time home alone with noone to bug me
I decided I would play Smash to celebrate, but first
I had to get something to quench my thirst
I jumped up whimsically and ran to the kitchen, my thirst did demand
My 3DS tucked foolishly into my hand
Opening the fridge I started my soda hoard
Until things went wrong and I tripped on a cord
My 3DS' life flashed before my eyes
In little pieces on the floor, I said my goodbyes
Yes, my 3DS had committed suicide. We held the funeral the next week. It was a short ceremony, nothing too special. I could barely walk by my 3DS in the casket before I broke down into tears. It wasn't fair! Not my 3DS!
Though the pain still lingered in my heart, I knew my 3DS would have wanted me to move on. I saved around 20 dollars every week until I had enough money to get a new one. It was April 8th when I had enough money, so I walked all swag in Gamestop with my 2 hunned dolluhs tucked in muh wallet. I walked up to the cute Gamestop girl, flipped my shades on, and swung my cap to the back. I was like, "Ayy gurl lemme get one of dem New 3DSes you got back there. You lookin' fine, by the way." (Well, I almost said all of that. Mainly just the part about the 3DS.) She grabbed it for me and rung me up and everything. I was happier than a child on Christmas when I got my New 3DS. I was about to walk out, but then I noticed something didn't feel right- What good was a new system without a game? I walked over to the 3DS exhibit to see what games they had for sale, and saw the advertisement for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D coming out in two days. I decided I would give it a try, although my expectations were pretty low. (The only other contendor was Fantasy Life, which I got today.) As I walked past the cute Gamestop girl, I was like, "Ayy baby gurl I'll be back dun worry. Kisskiss luh you." (Kinda) When April 10th came, I walked in all beautiful and brought the game. I was pretty excited to see what all the hype was about, so I played it as soon as I had access to my 3DS. (Usually I leave my 3DS game in its case for a while to admire its beauty. *cough* Bravely Default *cough* ) I jumped in my bed and snuggled up next to my 3DS. I was ready to play!

Story: 10/10
I am not being generous here, this game honestly deserves a 10 in this department. Not spoiling too much, the story revolves around Shulk and his experiences with an Enchanted weapon called the Monado on the remains of the Bionis. The Bionis is a giant Titan frozen in time that has essentially become home to the Homs. The Homs are at constant war with a threat known as the Mechons, powerful robotic monsters who know nothing other than eating (yes, eating) Homs. The only weapon able to destroy these powerful threats is the Monado, an ancient sword wielded by the Homs hero Dunban. When Dunban is injured in a battle with the Mechon, he is forced to withdraw from the front lines. To keep the hope alive, Dunban gives the Monado to Shulk in hopes he will learn how to unleash its hidden secrets. When Shulk suddenly figures out how to wield the powerful weapon during a battle with the Mechon, he realizes something: the Monado gives him the ability to see glimpses of the future. To be technical, it isn't really the future- it is merely a warning of what will happen if Shulk does not try to change it. I could go into more detail, but I do not wish to spoil too much so I will leave the rest up to you guys!
Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay in Xenoblade manages to be similar to the way that other RPGs play out as to not feel alien, but it has enough variation to differentiate itself from the classic turn based/skills/magic. The experience this game provides is completely unique in every aspect; you will never find another game quite like it. The game revolves around using "Arts" rather than "Skill Points" or "Mana." These Arts are essentially attacks represented by an icon. Each Art obviously does something different, with poweres being varied between Arts as well as some even having bonus effects. (Back Slash does more damage from behind, Stream Edge inflicts P. Def down if used from te side, etc.) Arts are all lined up in a horizontal palette. Shuffling through the various Arts you have equipped is as easy as utilizing the left and right buttons on the D-pad, and activating the Arts is as simple as pressing the A button. Arts don't require any special points to use, but they do have a cooldown time which varies based on the Art. Don't worry, though: Arts aren't the only way to attack your foe, as your character will Auto-attack. Every 6 or so seconds, your character will Auto attack a locked on enemy. Xenoblade doesn't have random encounters, you run into the enemies in real time. Locking onto them with L or R allows you to solely focus on that one enemy, as you can imagine. While locked on to an enemy, you can use ZR (on the New 3DS version) to instruct your teammates how you want them to play (Focus on the the Same enemy, Focus on other Enemies, Do as you please.) This might surprise some of you, but there is actually no button to dodge or roll. Yup. Instead dodging or rolling out of harms way, dodging enemy attacks revolves around the Agility stat. The higher your Agility is in comparison to your foes, the lower chance they have to hit you which will result in a "MISS" if the attack fails to connect.
One of the best gameplay mechanics, visions, triggers in random uncontrollable spurts. Shulk will see a vision of the future which will allow you to see exactly how you or your teammates will die/get injured. You'll then have a certain amount of time to warn your teammates and come up with a plan to avoid it. If you don't utilize your time properly, the future will come true. Successfully warn your teammates, and you'll change the future and avoid damage.
-Will post more, just saving this as to prevent the incident what happened last time-
