The graphics and animation were extremely well detailed. The soundtrack was nice and jazzy. The NPCs while all toads had lots of their own individual charms, the actual combat (meaning using a sticker on a enemy) had some really good oomph to it, I rather enjoyed the peeling mechanics, seeing all the animations for the thing stickers or whenever you paperized something was cool and I rather liked how the background environment in battles would really reflect the environment in the field, even going as far as to have hazards effect both you in and out of battle.
And finally, the thing I like best was how fast paced battles were. It's a real shame the rewards for beating them weren't worth it half the time.
I liked how the Thing Stickers all had some cool battle effects. I liked the Boom Box, Baseball Bat and Soda Can, but I wish they could be used more than once before you have to buy them again. I understand they may be too strong to spam, but maybe limit them to one use per battle and keep them in the inventory.
For what is is worth, I actually do like Paper Mario Sticker Star and find it to be fun despite it's flaws. I really love how they took the Paper aesthetics up to eleven and the soundtrack is AMAZING. Also I love the cutscenes that occur after you defeat the boss and it explains how they came in contact with the royal sticker, Especially the Mizzter Blizzard one. (Btw, I really hope a Paper Jam shows Paper Mario rebuilding Mizzter Blizzard at some point like he asked him to, that would be really cute.)
I loved The Enigmansion and Ice World, but I also loved World 3 because I love Forests. The boss was awesome and Snifit or Wiffit was fun. Plus, it was a long world with plenty of variety.
I know we all do not think highly of Sticker Star around here, but did you find anything fun or pleasant while playing it?
I liked a few things:
1. The desert oasis was actually pretty cool. The toad there had a little bit of character and I thought turning on the water was a cool scene. I usually hate desert levels, and this game was no exception, but this part was refreshing.
2. Wiggler is always welcome. Most people mention Wiggler, and the gradual growth into Flutter. This character was a lot of fun. I liked the journal that you could read at Wiggler's house, but I did not complete the whole thing.
3. Snifit or Whiffit was a blast! I did not expect this at all. I liked it and it reminded me of the random game shows that popped up throughout the other Paper Mario games.
4.I actually liked the Ice World. The boss had a legit reason to fight, and was the only fun boss to fight for me. The Enigmansion was brilliant! I actually made a save just before this stage so that I could do it whenever I like! ^_^
Did you guys enjoy any of these parts? Or maybe you have some that I did not mention. You can even post to tell me if you hated everything! ^_^ I would not blame you.
Same with you about Snifit, and well, Wigller seems really really cute and I seemed the stages like a Mario 3DS style combined with Paper Mario, and at the same time, some bosses were really hard.
I was not fond of the inventory, but I guess it is on par with the other games. I never really thought about it before. I like the spacing and being able to see everything without menus, but I hate how stickers are one time only so it really encourages hoarding awesome stickers.
Yeah, like I said before - it's probably regarded so bad because 1. people put their expectations too high and 2. they all compare it to the other MRPGS and those only.
How could expectations not be high? Before this each game had unique stories and characters without a hint of slowing down. The fans were right to have their high expectations.
Dark Moon was placed on a handheld and was outstanding, so handheld is no excuse. Series have superb handheld games all the time. DK, Mario, and Zelda all did it well before, along with Metroid.
This was on Nintendo and Intelligent Systems alone.
Would rather go to Waffle Kingdom than this Mushroom crap.

Soup Paypal Mayro wasn't that great, or so it seems from my impressions. I guess Sticker Star was shocking in the sense that I totally shot down fan expectations, but it certainly wasn't the worst game ever. Reviewers didn't like it for its gameplay and characterization. Everything else is just a sidethought. If Sticker Star had a story like the previous games but retained its gameplay, I highly doubt it will score any higher on Metacritic.
I hate to admit it? But! The only good things about this game are the graphics and animation's alone. (Especially on the toads.) Anything else after that? Still sucks! XD (The music may be cheering and happy. But that's not why I buy an RPG for?) If some of the bigger YouTube stars were to do a review on this game alone? They will tear it all apart from the inside out! XD (Like Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts!) That review was awesome to watch. They may have development on Kamek alone (for some reason? Even do he's WAY older than Bowser according to Yoshi's Island 1?) (Maybe he found the Fountain of youth?) XD Maybe that's why the old Koopa which from the first two games didn't make an appearance in Sticker Star... Cause she was in retirement for good?) LOL
Visually is not bad game, but gameplay wise? XD
I'll leave it at that?
I'll give it a 4/10
Been a fan of the Paper Mario series ever since I started playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii... No joke! XD I saw a few ads and commercials about the Paper Mario series. But I didn't start playing them for the story until I played the third game in the series. Ever since then? Many games of 2016 have come and challenge what we consider as story driven games now. UnderTale and recently FNAF's World. I hope that someday I can create my own game based upon the Paper Mario series and pay tribute.

Even if it's the weakest game of the series, I still really love Sticker Star. It's a pretty good game anyway! It's just that the other Paper Mario were so good.. Anyway, I really REALLY loved the soundtrack! Thanks to this game, I love the saxophone now. The graphics looked great as well, same for the gameplay. The sticker gameplay was amazing! I just hated how hard some parts were and you usually need a guide like when you need to find secret exits in the forest.. But still I loved this game and all the fun parts of the game that reminds me I was playing Paper Mario and makes me wants to know WHAT happens in the next level! Exemples:Fighting the hieroglyphs, needing to get all my sticker back, the long line to the rollercoaster AND OF COURSE Snifit or Whiffit) (I just hoped Kamek was the final boss for, like, the whole game..)
I found this game pretty fun for most part. World 3 and 4 were may favorite (Exclude the last snow ball part of 4-1). While it didn't have a huge story driven plot or unique characters, the toad are amusing at least. I do like the stragity involve with the stickersm I'm pretty good at balancing all of that out. Kemek is one of my fav Mario villains and it nice to see him getting bigger roles. The story around corrupted wishes is neat idea.
World 3 was genius with the changes to the levels after the poison was removed, and World 4 had a nice serene feeling to it with the music and atmosphere.
World 2 was just terrible, though. I hate deserts.
Yeah, I will say that I missed Super Paper Mario or whichever one was on the Wii. I know that that one wasn't too highly favored, I think because of the dimensional changes the game took on. I didn't experience it, but I know that's why my best friend wasn't too fond of it. But I really loved the cute mechanics with the stickers and just, as everyone has said, the overall great graphics. It made my experience a blast.
Honestly, Paper Mario is one of the few series that does turn-based fighting that I can get into. Probably because they setup a whole stage dynamic and make it more engaging and fun that way.
Yeah most people will say that Super paper Mario is the start of the downfall. It's just started the change in PM that no one will except. SPM still had great story telling and memorial Characters. Most of the member on here at least likes the game. Yeah i think it well constructed just lack some polish in areas.
Yeah I love the simplistic feel of the series. Most other used complex Formulas that I really can't understand but here is simple and can startige a lot more rather then relay on luck most of the time.
