Solidfalcon3 told me about a blog post with interview questions about Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, specifically about Driftwood Shore, Antasma, and the final boss music and wondered about the contents. These questions were taken from Nintendo Dream. Since I know a little bit of Japanese, I tried my best to translate the questions, as well as the author's comments.
There were sadly some sentences I weren't so confident about, so take what I say with a pinch of salt. ^^;
今月のニンドリ１０月号にはマリルイ４のインタビュー記事が掲載！ アックームのかませっぷりやネテバッカ博士が最初は悪役だったなどなど、ファンの気になることが沢山解決！
(The October edition of this year's Nintendo Dream has published an article with a Mario & Luigi 4 interview! Antasma's kamaseppuri(*), Dr. Snoozemore was originally a villain... It has shown to be unnerving/have taken back a lot of fans.)

Q. ヒルーネビーチで、ピーチはいつの間に入れ替わっていたのですか？
(Q: At Driftwood Shore, since when was Peach replaced?)

具体的には語られていないんですけれど、ネオクッパ城が出てきてマリオたちが「ビーチに行こう」となったあたりでは、すでに入れ替わっています。早々にさらわれていて、館にいるピーチは偽物です。
(Kubota: Though I cannot speak more specifically, when Neo Bowser Castle appeared Mario and friends decided to "go to the beach". Though it got hit, it had already been replaced. Peach had been kidnapped early. The Peach in the house is a fake.)***
Q. アックームは結局、何をしたかったんでしょう？「自由が欲しいだけ」と言っていましたが…
(Q: Will Antasma eventually achieve what he wanted to do? He said "freedom is the only thing I desire"...)

過去の時代では世界征服を狙っていた悪者で、現代の世界によみがえって世界征服を狙うんですが…。クッパの引き立て役になる共闘する敵として考えました。
(Kubota: In the past era, Antasma was a bad guy aimed with world domination. Antasma is aiming at world domination in the modern world, but... he became in Bowser's favour; hence he thought that he was in a joint struggle.)
大谷
マリオ＆ルイージとクッパは因縁の関係ですが、今回のクッパは純粋な悪役にしました。またマリオ達とクッパが協力する案もあったのですが、今回のクッパはあまりギャグを飛ばさない強い敵というかたちで表現しようとしていました。その反面アックームの印象は弱くなってしまいましたが、ユメップと敵対する存在として必要だったキャラクターです。
(Otani: Mario & Luigi and Bowser are in a fated relationship, but this time Bowser is a pure villain. Again, Mario & Luigi tried to cooperate with Bowser, but now Bowser skipped the 'gag' and wanted to express himself in the form of a powerful foe.)
Q. ラスボスの曲はどのように発注しているんですか？
(Q: How are you ordering (the materials) for the final boss music?)

デザインやゲームデータといった目に見える資料を作曲家の下村陽子さんにお渡しし、前作の「３」のようなノリで…という感じです。
(Kubota: Things such as materials for the design and game data have been handed over to the composer Yoko Shimomura, it is upbeat like her previous work in Mario & Luigi 3, I feel...)

任天堂からの強い要望としては「３」と同じかそれ以上のレベルでないと嫌だ、と下村さんにリクエストしました。なので相当リテイクはありましたが、名曲ぞろいのゲームになっていると思います。

There is a strong demand from Nintendo which is not the same or to a greater degree than in Mario & Luigi 3. It's unpleasant. We have requested Shimomura (for this), because it was a suitable role for her to retake; and I think that her complete musical works are a masterpiece.)

ブリックルが最初は網タイツを履いていた話は衝撃的でした（笑）
今作はいつも以上に色々とぶっ飛んでますからね。あってもおかしくなかった！

もったいないのでまたシリーズ中に出してほしいですね。消滅しちゃったから無理かなぁ。
最近のニンドリはちょっと高いなぁと思ってるマリオファンも今月は買い！
ルイージ３０周年の特集記事やファミコン３０周年の対談に復刻版ファミマガも良いですよ！
ニンドリさんの強みは「社長が訊くではできないファンによるインタビュー記事」だと思っているので、今後も頑張ってほしいです。

[not sure of this next sentence something about the game being better than usual, perhaps] [something] was also not funny.
Anyway, Antasma... Our Antasma... Because he is so good, he should star in his own series shouldn't he. He shouldn't have been eliminated for being unreasonable, maybe...
I do wonder if the recent Nintendo Dream (has sold) a little higher, and I want to think that Mario fans are going to buy it!
Luigi's 30th anniversary special feature article, as well as the reprinted 30th anniversary conversation about the Famicom from Famimaga is also good!
Since Nintendo Dream's strengths are thought to be "asking the president is not possible without fan interview articles", I wish we try our best in the future.)****

**入れ替わり also means substitution, shifting, change, turnover(?) - it seems to be about Peach. I can't remember, but did a character pretend to be Peach?.
***I had trouble with this sentence, I cannot remember the story so I had difficulty understanding it, so this may be inaccurate.
