Scary video game stuff in non-horror games

So basically they burn your soul and you have no afterlife. Creepy, am I right?

I'm going to throw in more Metroid.

For a Nintendo game, this is pretty scary. Even if it is rated T. Plus, he was a good guy in the beginning... of all the hunters he had the saddest and most brutal death.

Pokemon kills me with the ghost Pokemon descriptions. Like Drifloon's data saying that it looks like a balloon to entice kids to grab it and then floats away with them.

Luigi's Mansion also had the portrait ghosts descriptions that were pretty dark.

Partners in Time shocked me with how scary it could be. Especially inside Yoob if you think about what is going on in there with transforming victims into eggs that mutate them further, or Toadwood Forest with its VIM draining trees and toads hanging from them.

I got grossed out by that part. He looked like he was in such pain and Mario and Luigi were using the drill so that made me think of a dentist or something. Then he basically craps you out too as you fall out of his butt. Yoob's face during that is equally terrifying.

The part in the Lumbar Nook was a little disturbing, but they made it better by adding tea. Also, it was helping Bowser!

I screwed Yoob!

Then he made me eggs.

Then he had to use the bathroom.

Then I never saw him again.

This is so much to take in at once.

Finding out how evil Kirby games can be was quite shocking.

The intro locations of the first two Metroid Primes were quite eerie as well. I remember how startled I was when I opened the door to be greeted by a dead, hanging Federation trooper and that haunting sound effect.

Also remind me to not go to the G.F.S. Valhalla in the middle of the night next time... on my first Corruption playthrough I did...

Metroid may be aimed for an older audience, but I was not expecting any of this creepy stuff!

The SA-X in TRO was absolutely horrifying... I remember dying a few times on it as well.

Prime 2 had Grenchlers, Rezbits, dead guys, and Dark Bloggs but other than that I never found it very scary.

Fusion is a legitimate horror game.

True. Some scans are really disturbing in the whole series...

One thing that made Fusion LESS scary though, is that you're not exactly killing living, innocent natives like you do usually. You're killing X mimics, which makes it a lot less disturbing. You do kill the Omega Metroid though, but screw them nobody cares.

Every hero is a villain in their own way. It's realistic that way, actually.

Once upon a time, Nintendo almost made a non-kid friendly Mario game.
