There is always someone disguised as Peach.
In SSS, it was Luigi and Birdo. In PiT, it was Princess Shroob. In BiS, there is Peach statues with Fawful's faces. In DT, Kamek disguise himself as Peach.
All the RPGS have some great cameos like Samus and Link in Mario RPG, and 8-bit Mario in Thousand-Year Door.
Blooper is a boss in every PM game. He had become a tradition.
Birdo has appeared in each series.
Where was Birdo in PM? (Never got to play those games sadly, I only have Handheld Consoles and PM4:SS is not gonna cut it for me).
Each M&L has a final boss that's either Bowser himself, a possessed Bowser or something resembling Bowser. (a good trend but I hope that the next M&LRPG has something that doesnt have anything to do with Bowser, it's getting a bit stale)
Each M&L game has a few ''Demonic Spiders'' (TV Tropes term for enemies that are sorta unfairly OP, usually due to unintentional balancing issues and a big diffculty jump if you didn't grind) For SSS: Paratroopeas, Elite Paratroopeas (hated those things so much), most enemies in Bowletta's Castle For PiT: (IIRC) Love Bubbles/Soul Bubbles, Lethal Bob-Ombs For BiS: Pwallops (oh Geeez) For DT: Well a lot of enemies, the game's bizarrely unbalanced IMO (sorry). For one: those bomb-throwing enemies in Dreamy Dozing Sands and their R equivalent, the rock enemies in Dreamy Mount Pajamaja, most enemies in Neo Bowser's Castle, Cocoknights and Beehosses
Each M&L game has an annoying quest/minigame that HAS to be completed: For SSS: Peach in Teehee Valley escort mission (oh Geeez) For PiT: The dark parts with the Shine Sprite blocks that light it up For BiS: The Nose Deck minigame and the part with the Liftglobin in the Airway For DT: The quest on the construction site in waking world Dozing Sands and a few of the Luiginary Works in various Dream Worlds
(Some of these things are maybe no issue for you guys but I have kinda slow reaction speed and I'm sorta an impatient person)
A good trend:
Each M&L game has Yoko Shimomura as the OST composer She's really talented and her music just fits the games so well and seems as if it's right out of Kingdom Hearts!
For me OST means a lot, almost more than graphics tbh

I can't remeber if somebody already said this and I'm too lazy to check, but Wiggler was a boss in every M&L as well.
Yep!
Also, all the Mario RPGs (IIRC) have recolored more powerful versions of enemies. And every M&LRPG from 1-3 starts with Bowser as a tutorial boss. (Same in my fangame probably)

It is in the underground maze with all the coffins to open. You can find it there, and a Boom Box would help too if it is available at that point. Basically bring Things like scissors, and various either. After that boss the rest is easy and the next two words (Ice and Forest) are worth it.
It is called Sandshifter Ruins and it is the 3rd desert level. The maze can get confusing, but the bat is down there and the fact that the Pokey is in a stadium is supposed to be a hint to use the bat. It is kind of vague.
Every M&L RPG has a really original location that you never ever see again.
M&L1: Stardust Fields, Woohoo Hooniversity, Chucklehuck Woods, Oho Oasis. M&L2: Shroob Castle, Shroob Mothership, Vim Factory/Toadwood Forest M&L3: All of Bowser's body M&L4: The dream world
Possibly this is a good thing, maybe not tho, kinda divided on it. Areas like Stardust Fields are really beautiful and interesting and would be cool to see returning, but idk if a second time would break the effect or not. I might make an Expy (very very similar thing) of Stardust Fields in one of my games or more tho :-)

Would rather go to Waffle Kingdom than this Mushroom crap.

There is always a creepy stalker faithful friend following you. It's sometimes a doll, a generic monster, or even your own brother.
Syrup is apparently popular as a beverage.
Mario always goes through a design change. Super Mario RPG counts as a design change because everyone looks so hideous.
Mario's artworks never ever portray him with a mouth.
Inns. Just, inns. They're always there for some reason and they pointlessly cost money. You probably have a net gain by selling Inn Coupons in Thousand-Year Door.
The point is to put a creative spin on those generic RPG areas like forest and caves that appear in all RPGs. Paper Mario did a better job at poking fun at these areas. Mario and Luigi seems to take them more seriously. Same with the inns. All RPGs have that and item shops, so Mario also included them and even poked fun at them in Rogueport.
Mario RPG has a distinct style. Some love it and some hat it. I like the clay look. The visual style is great too me. Paper Mario is my favorite style.

I'd like the games to explore other lands, like outer space, food, etc., but if they do make a forest and make it, like, art-supply themed, that would be pretty cool. Either way, I don't want anything that resembles New Super Mario Bros. in terms of theme style. You can't believe how many times they reused its themes and gimmicks.
I don't know, it doesn't look like a clay model as much as a super primitive 3D model. Remember, 3D modeling was extremely primitive for its time. I personally think Mario looks creepy. Don't get me started on Valentina.
Might I pitch in that Mario RPG had outstanding graphics? Seriously, when I first saw the screenshots from the Wii eShop I thought it was an N64 game! Although, I gotta say I love myself simple graphics like EarthBound's.

I find the early N64 models to be the worst looking. Mario 64, and its sharp hills that look like they can take Mario's head off.
Wizard Mario is not pleased.
jk I think they have a certain charm that won't be present in any future Mario game for the rest of eternity, but yeah, those graphics are so laughably bad now. But they're still better than New Super style.

Meh, it's all pre-rendered. I have to be honest, it didn't age very well.
I personally do like the NSMB style but I prefer old SNES 16 bit SM-All Stars & SMW anytime!

I think Mario RPG has charm. I do like the Mario Party 2 graphics, but not the way the levels look in 64. Mario himself looks weird, but those levels look jagged. I guess it adds to the dangerous atmosphere, though.
I want Mario Party 2 costumes to return so badly. This topic makes me want to play Mario Party 2.
Early PS1 graphics take the cake as the worst, however.
I really hate the SM64 graphics. I love the game tho but only SM64DS. Not only has it better graphics, it also has 3 more playable characters, extra content and more secret stars and its portable.
