I guess, he has some good chance of coming back in Paper Jam, since this game is using Dream Team style. (which mean he is easier to bring back since they have already a base)
Unless if this game end up being Sticker Star'd. :/
I agree with you CM30. I am conflicted about the thing as well. I feel the twist was slopply written and Tas was wasted
I feel if Tas was written propely, he would have been one of the better villains in the franchise. It doesnt help that he is kinda similar to a character I really like (and who got treaten much MUCH better )
Would rather go to Waffle Kingdom than this Mushroom crap.

Well, so far aside from a few TTYD nods (like Paper plane and star point) most of the game seem to have Sticker Star's influence (lot of paper gimmicks, sticker cards in battle, lot of generic toads, etc...) all ennemies are from mainstream platformers, areas seem to be a grassland followed by desert like in NSMB and aside from the "Paper counterparts enter M&L world" the plot seem to be basically the same as your average NSMB (Bowser kidnap Peach, go save her)
I'm willing to wait a bit to see more infos but so far the game give me the same vibe as Sticker Star.

Keep in mind that we have a very limited amount of information revealed. While it's totally okay to have expectations for the game, I wouldn't rely too much on pre-release footage to build my impressions on the game, so my thoughts and feelings are neutral, but optimistic. The worst part about Sticker Star was its gameplay, but it seems that we're getting a Mario & Luigi game.

That's why i said, i'm willing to wait.
Current infos are too sparse to really give me a true insight on the game, then there is the fact that what we saw could be an early build, so who know ? It might turn out better on the release. (like how SM3DW looked plain and bland on the first trailer but ended up really good upon release)

I doubt it'll be as messed up as Sticker Star. I mean, that game also screwed up the very core gameplay including things like the battle system. Paper Jam seems to mostly maintain the standard Mario & Luigi gameplay, so it'll be legions better due to that alone.
That said, I do worry we'll get a bland Sticker Star like story. The videos do not make me too optimistic in that respect.

I am positive it will trump Sticker Star in every possible department. I just need some info and images to get truly pumped. I like speculating on new things such as characters and story, but we have nothing to go on right now as far as news.
I feel the Dreamy Mario boss fight was a huge missed opportunity and shouldn't have been thrown in that early in the game, they could have made it where Antasma separates Dreamy Luigi from Mario forcing Mario to fight his dreamy doppelganger by himself.
Also Wart could've showed up as a Super Boss... but instead we got Bowser Jr. Classy.
I've always thought another giant boss would be good, like a secret one for beating the others in the Giant Battle Medley.
Maybe a giant King Boo would work there. Or the Tough Possessor from Dark Moon could be a possibility, given how it controlled that giant suit of armour.

Wart really deserved a cameo since the whole game was about dreams. Not even a boss fight, but something would have been nice!
Link's Awakening also had a dream world and Wart had a cameo in that game, so if he can appear in a Zelda game then I do not think him appearing here would be too far-fetched.
Making Bowser Jr replayable without having to re-do the entire Boss Rush because it's easily the best boss in the game (But still have the Elite Trio as close second.)
The begin is a bit slow, mostly due to the lessons. Paper Jam seem to removed them by just have a booklet option to look them over. I do hope hope they plan to keep that function. Antasma role a s whole, pretty underwhelming considering he was supposes to be the main threat. Neo Bowser castle felt plain while nice gimmick does help that it had not defining traits unlike Most of Bowser castles which had there own puzzles and trails, while this one sort of felt forced with it not really doing anything new or challenging. Dreamy Bowser was more annoying them hard, if your gonna go with with him then just go with Brute force route it's what Bowser well known for.
Edit: Oh I forgot one this the biggest thing...Would be nice if they remove the Stylus controls there are neat and all but I'll just end up scratching my DS/3DS with them and one of them as barely functioning touch screen as is. I have yet to Play Paper Jam so hoping they either dropped it or make me used it very little.
Almost all of us agree that those tutorials have to go. Every game stats so slow because of them. They need to be like the Paper Mario series and make them optional.
Neo Bowser Castle remains my least favorite final area. Bland, but some cool details were present.
Dreamy Bowser is the worst final boss in the RPGs. Spams minions and heals, boring moves, and even the music was lacking.
I hate the stylus with a passion. I actually appreciated PIT more because it barely used the stylus. Then BIS came along and ramped it up with the constant mini-games that were forced, plus the giant battles.
I hate touch screen in general, just the ideas that I could notably destroy my screen by touching it. I lost my frost DS because I scratch up my screen with a stylus.

Off the top of my head... +Delay Bowser's arrival on Pillo Island until either Dozing Sands or before Mt. Pajamaja. This would give Antasma extra alone time. +Allow an option for Circle Pad control during gyro moments.
+Make Antasma responsible for some of the lone wolf bosses (Torkscrew, Pillodium). This would give Antasma more screentime (again) and do a better job of integrating the bosses into the plot. +Include the Seadring siblings in some gameplay sequences so they're not just cutscene-only characters. +Move the Zee Feathers from the Battle Ring to the room north of it requiring Bounce Bros. ++OR truncate the Ultibed quest to only needing to go to one location to find the Ultibed Pack. This would cut down on filler. Of course, there'd still be treasures in the now-vacant Ultibed spots. +Of course, cut down on tutorials. The first dig flip panel puzzle, the badge equip repeats, and the self-explanatory sections or sections where there's already nearby signs in general are most guilty. To help players feel like they're doing things on their own, the slow SMB theme shouldn't play in every tutorial.
