I feel bad for Paper Jam, because of it's poor sales.
While Color Trash (Color Splash) will be just another cash grab instead of another great Paper Mario game like Paper Mario 64, PM:TTYD and Super Paper Mario.
Please... Just buy Paper Jam instead of buying Color Splash.

I already bought Paper Jam and I'm still getting CS even though both games are/will be mediocre at best. Paper Jam being better than Sticker Star and Color Splash isn't a huge accomplishment. That's not to say PJ's concept isn't awesome. If they used characters other than the mainline ones I'd like it a lot more.

Wouldn't work, it's probable PJ didn't sell well because of the generic elements and Sticker Star elements which kinda impacted the fans (SS probably disapointed many fans which is why they didn't buy PJ since even its boxart had Paper mario with lot of Paper Toads which are reminiscent of Sticker Star)
Maybe the game could get a sale boost, if they pulled some DLC that got back to the more traditional PM/M&L elements of previous RPGs but even with that, i don't think the game would sold as much as previous M&Ls XP

Yes, i know PJ has four Paper Toads on the boxart, but, in the US boxart, they have three Paper Toads and a Paper Goomba in the US boxart of PJ.
Maybe the next Mario & Luigi game will be in 2018/2019 or 2020 will have better sales then Paper Jam did and hopefully this game will have new OCs and the returning OCs (M&L: SS, M&L: PIT, M&L: BIS and M&L: DT) and as well as a few other Mario characters (M&L: SS, M&L: PIT, M&L: BIS, M&L: DT and even M&L: PJ)
Thing is, who says Color Splash will be bad? Yeah its not really what everyone wanted, but I still think it has a lot of potential, even if its an upgraded Sticker star, So I will buy Color Splash, but I dont think I will buy Paper jam, because the development of that was rushed from the beginning to the end :/
Yes, you can see it multiple times, best example are the Toad missions which are basically just there to play out time, cut out the Toad Missions and there is not much of a game left :/

Fans need to tell Nintendo and AlphaDream that the sales of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam was sluggish as it's elements from Paper Mario: Sticker Star made it seem unoriginality, Nintendo and AlphaDream need to realized this new upcoming Paper Mario game for the Wii U made by Intelligent Systems might have the same problem, and the fans wanted Nintendo and AlphaDream to create more original Mario & Luigi game/original crossover Mario & Luigi game to avoid lackluster sales.
I don't think the development was rushed from the beginning to the end, Benstar.
It very clearly was rushed. As Benstar said, huge amounts of missions basically put there for filler.
And there are way more signs too. Like the fact the final dungeon has a ton of boss rushes and enemy spam (like the 15-25 minute boss rush before the final papercraft battle). Or the somewhat... empty worlds and areas, especially compared to Dream Team. That game had a ton of background detail, this one basically has a lot of very empty areas with little decoration.
Or the recycled content from Dream Team and Sticker Star.
Or how unstable it is in general. So easy to glitch the game and then go out of bounds. Or crash it:
No game should let you win by dying in boss battles:
Nintendo is stubborn and will continue on the path they think is right, regardless of fan interest. Just look at Paper Mario. The only way we can really help is to support studios that have true passion, like Retro (revived DK and Metroid). Mario and Luigi is in good hands right now so we just need to continue to support them and AlphaDream.
Buy Color Splash if it looks good to you, otherwise.
Fans got Majora's Mask on 3DS and got a continuation of a Link to The Past's story, so not everything is impossible. Nintendo just has to have developers with passion in addition to the fans is all I am saying. Buying Color Splash will not doom the series, so do not feel guilty for the purchase.
Would rather go to Waffle Kingdom than this Mushroom crap.

Color Splash might not exactly be the Paper Mario game the fans wanted, but putting this much negativity and melancholy on the very little information we have on this game (coupled with freaking petitions to cancel this game) is grossly overreacting. I don't have high expectations for Color Splash either, but right now, it seems to be at least a half-way decent game (which Sticker Star was), and it might even be vastly improved. I also don't think Paper Mario will really be going back, even with the intense fan pressure; developers want it like this way, they clearly said so. They wanted Sticker Star to be the new standard and they went further by rationalizing Paper Mario's differences because it was too similar to Mario's other RPG, Mario & Luigi.
In the end, I'm slightly optimistic because Paper Mario still has a great chance to improve, given how young the new Paper Mario is. Color Splash and other games following it may improve the point where it's simply fresh, amazing, and creative. Again, I don't know for sure about its future, but it sure has potential to improve.
Thing is people are just too salty sometimes, yes I agree I would like to have a PM2-esque game instead of what Color Splash is, but can we change that throught going on every site or Youtube video and just writing down "Paper Mario Color Splash is trash, I hate it"? No we cant! As of now they would have seen the outcry, they are not blind. Same for Federation Force which looks interesting in my eyes, but just because Metroid Prime is in the Title, people would like to kill the producers, okay thats maybe a bit too extreme but you should get what I mean. You know what, how about we enjoy what we have? Even if you are salty and angry, you cant change it, accept it and you will probably have a lot of fun with it. To me Paper Mario:Color Splash looks like a solid and good Paper Mario game, even if its different.

I love how we have to start rationalizing this game. "Oh, it will be a good game, but not a good Paper Mario game." This reminds me of Resident Evil 4 and now that series is trying to redefine itself after numerous missteps and direction changes. Yay, another series with a crisis of identity. At least these developers are more adamant in their ideal vision of the series, even if many fans want no part of it.
Some of you may not have even liked the initial direction of the series because of its focus on story and characters and that is why this appeals to you. It looks bare to me.
I already made a topic about Sticker Star and where it shined. Sadly, the game is disposable. It is like an Adam Sandler movie now.

So freaking true! lol
Been a fan of the Paper Mario series ever since I started playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii... No joke! XD I saw a few ads and commercials about the Paper Mario series. But I didn't start playing them for the story until I played the third game in the series. Ever since then? Many games of 2016 have come and challenge what we consider as story driven games now. UnderTale and recently FNAF's World. I hope that someday I can create my own game based upon the Paper Mario series and pay tribute.

You are oblivious if you're buying Color Splash and thinking it may be good. It's so obvious that it's Sticker Star 2. Unless you've liked Sticker Star, it's pointless to buy it.
Other than that, Paper Jam feels soulless. It really does. There is no charm to the game besides how fluent the animation is tbh. However, battle system is really fun. Cutscene speed up is good too.

and why is Color Splash automatically bad, just because it is an upgraded Stickerstar? It can still be a good game if they fix the battle problem, which seems like they did, because xou can now buy cards while battling, so probably thing cards aswell which fixes the boss problem
