Kinda odd style if ya ask me, Sm64 style is neat and all but the worlds is just odd to see Mario in. Sure great that they are expanding the Marioverse but massive leap here to make Mario work in. Hope they know what they are doing.

I think it make sense, sure Mario went to Outer Space but he never really went outside of the MK to visit the planet (well he did visit a few neighboring kingdoms and did travel the globe a bit in DK94 but that's all)
Hope we can get some expansion on the humans, we did see some species have lot of focus like the Toads, but Mario's species remain mostly mysterious.
Oh no that not what I mean, that just fine, I love the idea of revisiting Ape City like area. I mean how Open this is, no other Mario game has done it like what I see, remind me more of DK64 or BK then Mario. I all ways figure was straight forward adventure type of deal. Sm64, Sunshine, and Galaxy were pretty liner while having some exploration elements but Odyssey seem to be going the full on exploration approach, hens why I think it's a bit of a odd leap for Mario. If they can make it work with out sacrificing the Mario core, then great on them.

Super Mario 64 and Sunshine were not linear compared to Galaxy 2 and 3D World. In 64 and Sunshine you could do any level whenever you wanted as long as you had enough stars, I think this will be the same way.
I hope the real people city level is just one level, I don't think it's a hub world like everyone else. If it's a hub world why would Mario have a space ship?
My theory is that you'll collect stuff to help power your ship and the more stuff you have the farther you can travel, so it keeps the Mario 64 and Sunshine thing where you unlock levels. Benstar, yes, no Mario has been this open, but 64 and Sunshine were very close to how Banjo Kazooie and DK64 were. Big open worlds with stuff to collect. This is just the next step to making it more open.
I've always felt the Mario core was platforming and secrets and exploration. SMB1 had a lot of secrets and exploration for the time (It seems silly to say now, but at the time it did), secret 1 ups and coins and warpzones, etc. Then 2, 3 and World expanded upon that. And then 64 and Sunshine expanded further, and Galaxy is when they started taking steps back. At the Treehouse event they even said that the Galaxies and 3D World were more of the "casual" 3d Mario games. This is the expansion of the exploration of Mario we needed.
Not sure where that come from no one here said it was a hub, I figure it was a world of it's own. It will likely fallow the collecting star/or some object theme.
Well ya must have low definition cause I don't really feel 64, Sunshine, or Galaxy games did that exploration very well. It was bits here and there but seem more focus on on going to A to B (with some exceptions). Ya must have love them 100 - coin challenge.
Again having huge worlds to look for a single star could be horrible idea depend on how the put it together. I like the smaller world in 64 and so forth I think they were just the right size, personally.

I meant a lot of people in general think it's a hub. And my point is that this game will probably enhance the exploration of 64 and Sunshine. And getting to a star doesn't equal getting from a to b, you can still go anywhere you want in the levels looking for secrets.
Yeah it is, ya just have a few way of reaching it (just like SMB in general). As for secrets, ya have any idea how cryptic these things are? It pure luck you come across them, and that just what Mario does. The secrets are surprises ya never know what ya find or when they pop up. Exploration is pretty small in the games but not really a core thing of Mario. That more toward Wario/DK field of things.
Just like in sunshine. Also conform to be Soloy explore focus. So yeah these wor;d ae gonna end up being huge and probably gonna have a lot of collecting of some kind (outside of stars anyway) It usually the best way to get people to actually explore. We'll see how it will all come together thorough the year.
SMO is gonna be the best mainline game in the series.
Been a fan of the Paper Mario series ever since I started playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii... No joke! XD I saw a few ads and commercials about the Paper Mario series. But I didn't start playing them for the story until I played the third game in the series. Ever since then? Many games of 2016 have come and challenge what we consider as story driven games now. UnderTale and recently FNAF's World. I hope that someday I can create my own game based upon the Paper Mario series and pay tribute.

Honestly, this game looks incredible. It has something for everyone (3D platforming fans, 2D platforming fans, and even a hint of Paper Mario in there), while also having incredible mechanics like the hat hijacking. This game alone is making me consider getting a Switch.
I can't wait for this game it looks so awesome! I haven't been this excited for a Mario platformer since Super Mario Galaxy 2 and oddly enough the trailer reminded me of the 2 galaxy games. I need to get a switch anyway so that I can play Breath of the Wild too.
Not make to say really, I was all really interesting in it and this is just more of the same. It's nice to see a nice combo of the previous 3D Mario games.
