Generation: This one is more mission base with a sort of arch for each chapter. The story has a lot of Mario references and makes nice little episode sort of thing much like if it was a/an Anime/TV show. The base story is more toward Naruto loosely but there are heavy changes from it's story to this.
Let me go though some gameplay changes regrading this.
-Mission are split by 5 ranks. D, C, B, A, & S.
-If a yellow star is by the mission it is story related, a bit harder, and will fight a boss in it. However, a Black star means you will encounter a super boss. (You don't have to worry about Black til the post game)
-Green text mean you'll unlock a new area, red Text means there will be boss, blue means both a new area and a boss will show up, finally yellow means a strong monster can be found here. (Note only S rank mission will have yellow and you'll have unlocked all areas by time you'll get here)
-You earn Money and materials through mission but going out can just as effective.
-What rank you get determine what rewords you will get;
D - 500G (Rarity 1 items)
C - 1000G (Rarity 1 items)
B - 5000G (Rarity 2 items)
A - 10000G (Rarity 2 items)
S - 50000G (rarity 3 items)
-By completing Mission your get Mission Credits (MC) kinda acts like your Rep, the higher it is the more people will treat ya and might get gifts from time to time. Note that you only receive MC for first time completion.
-Main mission are unlocked by getting a certain amount of MC.
-A new batch of Mission is unlocked when you Complete a main mission. However, Each chapter may have more then one main mission.
-Ever chapter will begin with an event letting you now that the Chapter you were just one ended.
-Beside the first mission you can redo and mission to grain more Money and items.
-You'll be given new mission permission after complete certain main missions, so you might get some C early on but will be grey out, until you beat your second Main mission.
-After Chapter 1 you may leave town but you have to unlocked areas to visit them. They usually block off for story reasons.
-You mostly visit Guard HQ to get accept mission but many people will add mission to you so make sure to talk to every one that you can after every Chapter.
-Once S ranks are available you can take on challenge Mission, they are all S rank and usually require you to be high level.
-Each Mission will have description to them, read them to know where and what sort of threats you'll find. Prepare abilities, Equipment, and restock items before leaving the gates (unless they are in town then do it before accepting).
-Getting a game over will will allow you to continue from where ever to last saved (or at start if ya didn't used one), however you money and reword can degrade if this happen enough.
-If your grade degrade to F it's a auto failed mission.
-The main town will have everything you'll need but other town can supple more limited stuff in case you need some while out on a mission.
-This is the only game that allows 4 Character at once but you'll will not be able to Switch around.
-Post game missions will often mix some some of your team with other you come across thought the story. Hiro is the focus so he won't change. You get a good look at the abilities of the other (you do fight them from time to time so a lot more team battles here)
-Everything else is the same.
Plot: About a year later from the last, Alex and Hiro have complete the entrance exam and are junior guards. Now under Knight Edge command along with Rain (an water Anfinity, Magic class member), Work together to deal with te many threat though the Kingdom and even beyond.
Story: the story is more design with arch fashion. Each chapter will act as one and they will come together in the end but the idea is to make it feel like months or years have past with the story with out stating it. So the story will be slow but hopefully the build up will end up being satisfy. Interesting here is that most (Mostly the Chapter 1 mission will have more basic set up) mission have story just not focus one the man story.
Tone: much more light hearted fun stuff with some darker stuff toward the end of it. Some generally shocking bits here and there, so do we wary.
Difficulty: Without switching you'll find the bosses to be pretty fair and to force anything too bad here. However, the later end stuff (and especially the post game) you'll fine it pushing just what your team can do. The post game missions that can be the hardest duo to you not use to the new team mates but the mission use is design with them in mind so it really just what ya can do and how to figure some strategies out.
Emotions: It sort of goes a lot of places depend on whom asking. So you get a feel of what ya expect from the requester. Certain people will have silly stuff whole other will have a serious bit to it. I will say the ending here is one of the more sadder ones with some sinister build ups going on.
