That what i speaking about Antasma being his own unique character, the angelic form would be a nod to the Elder Shroob princess's star sprite impersonation without ressembling her.
Either the shroobs, Bowser or the Mario bros, maybe the 3 at the same time, he speak to the shroobs in an invisible voice and free them, then he appear later in his angelic form to speak with the Mario bros promising to help them to defeat the unfrozen shroobs, in the end it turn out he got the Shroobs to give him enough Vim to ressurect/restore himself while the Mario bros defeat the Elder Princess Shroob, allowing him to steal her time hole power.
Effective restoration/ressurection+new time based powers in bonus.
Antasma's angelic form: Hey hey hey ! Look like the shroobs are on the loose ! They even made a new fortress ! Want me to give you a help breaking it ? Well, you're lucky because i know the weaknesses of their defenses, follow me and defeating them will be child's play !
Antasma revealing himself: I did it ! With the vim i have absorbed and the power of the elder princess shroob, i can finally come back to this world ! "turn into his true form" Vell you seem surprised to see me again aren't you, let me explain after you defeated me, i did not disappear but vas instead rendered powerless, creating this plan und playing you along vith the shroobs vas vut i needed to come back. I do admit i didn't expect to gain this new appearance, might be a side effect of the power i haff stolen...Und now it's time for my true plan to unveil ! hahahahaha! "Teleport away"
Then later as you progress in the second part of the game, you start seeing strange flashbacks in interludes and Antasma realizing the new form was actually his true original form prior his cursing into a bat.
That sounds amazing, man! Are you a fan fic writer or just a researcher? You have put this together very well. I'm so excited for this, and it will not happen!
It's manga-ish, sort of (the style itself is surreal and cute, yet contrasting with the more serious plot, you should see Masaaki Yuasa's Kaiba and his other works to give you an idea).
We do have separate terms, we call Manga that originate from japan, well Manga, the comic books that originate from our country or belgium are called "bande dessinée" or "BD" while the comic books that originate from US are, well named Comic book.
In my case it would be called "Bande dessinée a inspiration manga" (Comic book with manga inspiration), through it can be also called a Manfra or Franga (abbreviation of "Manga francais" or "French Manga): fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manfra sorry it's in french but there isn't an english page.
I had my browser translate the page! I see, we use manga for Japan-related books and comic books for our western style books. I hate most of our comics, though.
Meh, America values are a bit too tight for me, good thing values in france and some other countries in europe are more relaxed, so we can try more risque stuffs without having the moral guardians harrassing us like in US

Thems fightin words, boy! *punches air* Put them up, Frenchy! Frenchie? Whatever!
Yeah, I agree, actually. We need to loosen up a little bit. I get harassed on a daily basis by THE MAN!
He is watching me. Of course, on here. I am watching you!
You will be surprised at the stuff we can get away in our kid show which would be normally censored in US.
In fact i remember some cases where the work could be rated R in US while france would only get a measly -10 (recommended to be at least 10 years old to watch it) if not outright a universal (everybody can watch it)
Not good, but you do get away with a lot in that stuff.
Cartoon Network is currently the only one getting away with stuff. Nick will censor out the word DIE or KILL even. Disney does too.
Wow, I feel robbed. We can't watch it as kids, but your 10-year olds can. No wonder our kids are so far removed. Of course, I watched that stuff anyway. Look how great I turned out! *poses*
If it gets a R rating in France, does that mean it was really hardcore?
Really ? We can say "Die" or "Kill" without problem, even words like "Hell" can pass just fine.
It's pretty hard to get -16 (our equivalent of R rating), strong language is almost ignored and sexual content surprisingly do not add much (unless it's really explicit)
IIRC the only thing i recently saw getting a -16 was Queen's blade but it's a Seinen with Ecchi themes (it was diffused at night through)
Here is what wikipedia say:
"Although there are no written guidelines as to what sort of content should receive which rating and ratings are given on a case by case basis, the commissioners typically cite violent, sexual and drug related content (especially if it is deemed to be graphic or gratuitous) as reasons for higher ratings. By contrast little attention is paid to strong language. However sexual content is much less likely to produce a high rating than in many other countries, including the United States."
Also:
"The Commission cannot make cuts to a film, but it can ban it, although this latter power is rarely used. In practice, this means that most films in France are categorized rather than censored."
Hell is never allowed here except Adult Swim and Toonami(both on Cartoon Network).
Die and Kill are allowed on Cartoon Network just fine, though.
Our films get cuts and censored. They get diced to pieces. I rarely watch movies now though. I'll stick to anime and manga, which is not American. Characters are deeper and storylines are more fleshed out. Soul Eater is gruesome and the language is insane!
Man, you guys have it so cool in certain aspects. Out cartoons were best in the 90's when Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, and Invader Zim were crazy!
French are the second country which read the most manga in the world, just below japan and 40% of the comics published in France were manga, considering that france is one of the major power points of comic books, it's definitely impressive, you should read this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manga_outside_Japan#.22French_exception.22 Anime and Manga was popular in france way before USA.
I admit, US comic are a bit weird, they try to look hardcore but when they come to sexual themes, violence and religion, they shy away.
The comics i read in france are tend to not look "hardcore" but for sure the autors doesn't shy away from showing psychological themes, violence and other stuffs.
Soul eater is fun, through i admit, i have read more surreal books (search Idées noires by Franquin), it's a pretty dark comic book: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id%C3%A9es_noires
Soul Eater is a manga, though, so of course it is awesome. I hate comic books here because they focus on super heroes and giant muscles. The animation is ugly and the story is never deep, with little character. I hate super heroes too, like Batman, Spiderman, X-Men or Superman.
I wish manga was more popular here. I am the only one that collects it with a full bookshelf around my parts.
Gotta keep the manly values, not the slender wimpy gender ambigous japanese bishonens
Per curiousity where do you live ?
This is a kid show in france, yet the characters are very well developped, very good action scenes, drama and the villain (Nox) is one of the best villains i have ever seen (his story is so sad through)
Really you need to see him, he is cool, insane yet tragic, in fact i do not wanna spoil you how it end, it's just so sad.
You have also that other villain from second season who was once a kind guy but the fact he could reincarnate while keeping his all of his memories eventually drove him insane.
As i said value dissonances, we also have Code lyoko through it kind of went shit with the revival, too bad i really loved this series
Yes i believe, in fact there is a movie in preparation and a French Manga which continue the story.
