Thinking of minions: Midbus would have his non-fawfulized snawful, some ennemies from joke end (ice snifits, etc...) and some Midbus themed minions like minibus and bigbus which are a pun on miniboss and big boss (just like how midbus is a pun on midboss) and the most powerful minion being finalbus (final boss).
Antasma would have his antasmans and antasmatons at first but toward the end as he remember everything would gain Antasman R and Antasmaton R which are blue and more powerful.
I believe it was because Dream Team was releasing during the 10 years of Mario & Luigi, so they made him look like all villains as a tribute, still the early images, seemingly imply they were going for spm references (some antasma pics being blue and the original dream portal looking like the Queen Jaydes's portal)
Love those puns! Those all sound like good enemies. Finalbus sounds challenging and very strong.
Antasma enemies were already some of the strongest in the game, so I imagine this game will have the toughest enemies yet. Antasman R sounds like a handful to fight. I remember threads talking about how hard the enemies were in Dream Team and Antasma had the hardest enemies.
Oh, I see. So he is kind of like a homage to all villains. That's pretty cool.

I have heard that Antasma X is according by some the personification of Satan and despair because of how hard he is. (amusingly enough Antasma's japanese title isn't bat king but Devil Bat:D)
Yeah that why i would like Nintendo to push further and include Paper Mario villains traits in his design.

Having him in Paper mario would be a great way complete his story arc (DT deal with his liberation while the next PM could focus on his backstory and him coming back as the final boss), also i feel the PM storywriters would do his character better than M&L ones (PM seem more sadder, darker and heartwarming, while M&L is more humorous, Antasma seem on the tragic end like Bleck rather than funny like Fawful) assuming that Miyamoto doesn't martyrize them again:P
And it would make SPM fans go "Oh crap" (remember Count Bleck ? He killed his tribe right ? Well too bad there is still another on the loose, so prepare your paper tissues)
That or a new series with Luigi (Idk a platformer or RPG focused on Luigi in which Antasma is his arch-ennemy)
Paper Mario has has more story and dialogue in general. I wonder if that's because they are usually console games as opposed to handhelds. The only handheld Paper Mario was Sticker Star, which had very little story or dialogue.
As a SPM lover I would indeed have an "oh crap!" reaction. Just knowing that a member of perhaps the most destructive species in Mario on the loose is enough to make people afraid. Did anybody ever come as close as Bleck/Dimentio at destroying the universe/multiverse in the Mraio series.
I don't think a platformer would work as well as an RPG at telling the story.

Nah, Miyamoto meddled with the team (which was 90% new) and told them to use as little story as possible, the fact they used a club nintendo survey which said that not even 1% liked the story of SPM didn't help (despite the fact that many said that SPM's story was the strong point of this game)
Basically, Antasma played the "Bat" part in DT, while in the new paper mario he would play the "Devil" part of his title.
It depend, SMG was pretty good at telling but yeah a RPG would work better
That survey was bogus. No way did everybody hate the story, although I know some people said it was not a good Mario story because it was so dark and serious. Oh well, different tastes, but no way did it have so much hate.
Galaxy was the only reason I gave some credit to storytelling in platformers, and Kirby. RPGs still flesh everything out more. Especially if we have side quests that reveal more about Antasma's past.

I hope Nintendo realize this and proceed to bring back more story in his next game.
The reason why i'm saying should better appear in a Luigi's game is because miyamoto actually encourage story for Luigi, thus i would be certain that Antasma actually get his characterization.
So basically is it just Mario that was affected by Miyamoto? Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem, everything else seemed safe. Maybe he got too protective of his baby.
I guess I'm finally happy that Nintendo thinks less of Luigi. It allows him freedom. ^_^ I'm hopeful that Sticker Star opened eyes. Dream Team was successful. Dark Moon is a system seller. All signs point toward fans wanting this material. Bravely Default is another example of story-heavy games that sell on Nintendo consoles.

Depend he also spiked the story of some zelda games but well, here's the word:
"On the other hand, I do think that the world of Luigi's Mansion and sort of the kind of "scary feel" to the mansions and whatnot is something that has a big contrast to the Mario games, which obviously are very bright and more action-focused. So having that nice story that wraps around the Luigi games is something that perhaps lingers with people a little bit longer and when they think back and remember it, they think 'Oh, I want to experience that again." www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/03/shigeru_miyamoto_luigis_mansion_is_suitable_as_lighter_fare
So yeah, he seems ok with Luigi being darker and having a story.
I have this odd idea of final area, basically you walk through the area and the "Memory theme" slowly, the memory theme as more and more instruments added until it become like "Bounding through time" when you talk with Antasma, however as he come toward the end of his quotes, you get the same "memory theme disc scratching version" when bleck destroy the tribe and then a remix of this theme play: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS05b56MQho
Nice quote about Luigi's Mansion. Very interesting! I am so glad Luigi has that story element then. The contrast between the happy Mario games is really a good point. Luigi has the darker feeling. Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube really paved the way for this. I'm so happy for that game looking back.
Nice articles.
That is an odd idea but it may work. How did you think of this?! I like it a lot, actually. Memory theme is one of my favorites, so this idea appeals to me. I like that this involves the theme changing as well.

I'm actually happy that miyamoto aknowledge Luigi's games as the darker side of the mario franchise, it really differenciate it from the more action packed mainstream series.
A possible other hint but an Antasma themed door has a count bleck's smile/mouth.
No autograph then? You sir, have left me with broken heart... Bleck!!
Oh, I see it now! Haha, I never notice this stuff. Did you notice that on your first time through the game or by examining later on? I don;t see this stuff on my first attempt, ever.

i do not find him creepy at all, more cool than creepy, the shadow queen, Bowletta and mimi are creepier through antasma as a nightmare creature should have being able to pull off stunts where he become the stuff of nightmares like becoming an uncanny valley Pi'illo or a demonic mario.
Really i feel they didn't explore fully the nightmare aspect of him :/
Mimi is creepy. Good point. I love creepy, so Antasma being creepy is a compliment. He is to me. Cool as well.
The nightmare aspect is interesting, but what could they have done in Dream Team to explore that? At what point? I don't know where it would fit. Maybe at the end if they put more focus on him instead of Bowser. Maybe when they explained his rise to power. I don't know. I definitely agree they did not fully explore him though.

Antasma should have done more nightmares toward Luigi like he did in the intro, would have been a nice to expend his relation toward Luigi and his nightmare aspect.
You know what's too bad ? my laptop recently ceased to function, meaning that i cannot draw digitaly anymore (what i'am using right now is a much older computer for still keeping contact with peoples), this is too bad because i would have liked to try to see Antasma using those various nods :/
Maybe have Antasma use a nightmare after every area. Like after Wakeport, or any furthering of the story. Then by the time you reach the end it will all add up. As it stands now, Antasma or anything related to him had so little screen time. I think I saw Private Goomp more! That is really my only major flaw in regards to Dream Team. I loved it in every other aspect.
That is too bad. When will you be able to use a laptop again?

I was thinking Dream world bosses would be created by Antasma, doing thing like keeping Big massif asleep or he is the one that make mount pajamaja come alive and reprograming that Pi'illo guardian in somnom woods to attack the bros.
When i'll find someone to fix it or buy a new one :/
I think of an amusing fact, Antasma's face is egg shaped, reverse it and you would have a rather human-like face with nice spiked hair.
What kind of creatures should Antasma make in his game? He should be the creator of all the bosses. Kind of like how The Shadow Queen created the three dragons to guard her areas.
