What are some of your favorite games that do not involved Mario?
I have a a few that stand out:
The Legend of Dragoon - This game was a PS1 RPG. I really became a fan of the RPG genre after playing this game. The characters, battle system, and music were all fantastic. The game was really long, consisting of 4 discs.
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - This is my favorite Zelda game. It was released on the original Gameboy and then later on the Gameboy Color. I still prefer the original with all of its various glitches and few colors. Modern Zelda games have better graphics and huge dungeons, but this game was my first Zelda and still my favorite.
Final Fantasy 5 - I did not own a Japanese SNES when this was released in the 90's, but I did pick up the GBA remake. This is another RPG, but unlike most RPG games, the story is not the main appeal. Nope, this game has the best gameplay in the series and really introduced the job system. You could make any character a black mage, or a thief, or a knight. The player could make so many party combinations under this system. This is still my favorite Final Fantasy game.

I used to play Pokemon games (and watch the show as well!) I'm not much into it anymore. I mostly stick with Mario games, but I play Smash Bros. and some Spongebob games (don't really care for the newer ones though)

Only one I've played is Donkey Kong Country Returns on Wii, which I only played the demo of. It was pretty cool though, is there any differences between it and the 3DS version?
3DS version has an easy mode. This mode has some new items, like Crash Juice, which allows you to hit stuff while riding in mine carts without instantly dying. You also have more hearts in this mode.
Oh wow, you two. My first handheld was the original Gameboy. The screen was slightly yellow and played black and white games! Eh, sonny! Speak up! You better Watchitt!
