Got this game for Christmas, and I love it! I love it, love it, love it!
Color Splash is basically Nintendo apologizing to those who hated Sticker Star, but also not alienating those who liked Sticker Star.
And it did this by fixing my biggest problem with Sticker Star: the soullessness. Color Splash is a lot more lively, thanks in part to the beautiful settings, usually the worst aspect of a Mario game these days.
The story also received a nice upgrade, a return to form without going too deep or overboard. The characters are all likeable and the dialogue is probably the best I've seen in a Paper Mario game, and I've played all of them.
Consumable items do return, but they don't bug me here like they do in Sticker Star. I never really had a problem with them, it's just that Sticker Star was so dull I saw everything as a chore. I'm fine with the new battle style as long as the game itself is fun.
My biggest concern with this game before playing was a lack of diversity. And yeah, the NPCs are for the most part Toads, but that doesn't bother me. Most of them have unique distinctions that set themselves apart from the other Toads. And yeah, it would be nice to see some Yoshis or Penguins, but I don't hold that against this game.
Also, the Roshambo Temple is a fun little minigame.
I had faith in this game from the moment I saw the trailers, and it payed off. It's a good thing it did, or else I would have lost all hope in Paper Mario.
My ultimate wish for a hypothetical next title: Take this paper train to Kongo Island. I want to see Paper Mario team up with Paper Donkey Kong.
oh reality, it's not for me and it makes me laugh oh, fantasy world and disney girls i'm coming back

Yea, but a huge part of the ending is pretty vacuous. (Alot of this info was from StacheBros.) It was obviously shown to Mario and Huey that Bowser was being controlled by the black paint. After the Koopalings and Bowser fall from the sky, Peach suddenly says "I hope they've learned their lesson." THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG. You would think that Mario, Huey, and Peach wouldn't be this dense. The Koopalings were just following orders, not knowing that their guardian is being controlled by some evil entity.
It's just bad, if only the ending was fixed, lots of people would handle this better.
may be so but to be honesty Mario and co aren't the brightest set around. The Mario & Luigi series as shown they they sort need guidance. I think it believable, Peach wouldn't know, Bowser was more odd then flat out stating that to Mario, and Hauy does even know Bowser so yeah. They sort of shrug it of as them be jerks (Not the first time they done this) It's clear to us but to them not so much.

Although Mario and Luigi knew Bowser wasn't being bad in Superstar Saga, they just didn't help him. In Partners in Time, Bowser was clearly conscious and able to control himself while being possessed by Elder Princess Shroob. Mario and Luigi defeated Bowser knowingly that his own actions were attacking them. Nothing to say in Bowser's Inside Story and Dream Team because he directly attacked the brothers again.
Your proof of Mario/co's stupidity in the M&L games is debunked.
"Debuncked" if ya had any evidence...Mario and Luigi aren't that smart. They always need someone like Starlow or stuffwell for guidance for thing that should be easy to figure out.
Except thats for other things, not Bowser being recognized as an antagonist or not, those two are completely different topics. Mario and Luigi aren't asining, they can master a martial prowess move (Bros Attacks, Swing Bros and Cyclone Bros) just by reading a scroll.

Err doesn't matter all that much as Bowser under the Black paint influences dose act a lot like Bowser only at the end he seem strange but I wouldn't set it pass then to shrug that off, as stated they done so on few other time without questioning it. Just saying the Mushroom kingdom folks are just not that smart, which is kinda what they are going for with them (Dream Team is full of moment that the people couldn't for the life out of them figure out such simple puzzles or moving certain platforms). Peach ironically is probably the smartest person in the kingdom she just lack power to defend herself, even the Doctors, prof, and Sages, though knowledgeable, still seem unable to wrap them selves around issues that we can salve fairly easy. The issue there is that Peach wasn't they during Bowser's battle and she even hinted at the he seem odd. Too bad, the main seres treat her as a air head though.
...And they forget it the next game plus how do we know it's not simple directions to begin with. Mario & Luigi are master of Jumping and Hammer techniques, a scroll base eon it wouldn't be that hard for them. Trust me it's not that hard to learn something that ya do have a talent in much less a lot of experiences will said hobby/profession.
Edit: Keep in mind these are meant for kids so the folks are probably meant to be like a cartoon then this why the act the way they do and why some of plot are say on the stupider side. Super Paper Mario is really the only one that feel more for Teens hen the rest of the games do.
Not really...If there are plenty of people that still say "Bowser is the villain" then it's not that clear and it really isn't. Could just be a power trip for all they know. People on Power trip tent to break away from the world and seem to not know what they were ding while going mad (Multiple media has shown this). Just because it's obvious to you does mean it actually is. a lot of people actually don't see the connections to the Black Paint. I say the same thing in Sticker star but everyone said over wise...
Why does everyone assume these video game characters are genius? They are not, most are normal people but we are generally smarter then them. The issue here is that we don't how Mario react to these things. He perfectly fine watching Bowser melt in lave but panic over the Zeekeeper pretty much taking is bank account. There not enough evidence to support that he would know that at all. The in-game text suggest that Bowser seem just fine (Except to Peach) just a power trip.

Bowser was always a thorn to Mario, for how many times before New Super Mario Bros DS Mario has seen Bowser can return after brutal deaths. And saying Mario is too stupid to realize that the Black Paint controlled Bowser is basically changing the plot of Super Mario RPG where Mario instead attacks Bowser because he thinks Bowser is the one who trapped Peach in Booster's Tower.
1. when did I say anying about Bowser dying, I just meaning the melting seance from said game, just to show that death seem to unfaze him.
2. Of course thanks to Dark magic he kinda can't die though could be the cartoon logic of main villain never truly dies.
3. Once again never said he was stupid ya just assuming. Just like your assuming the paint thing here.
4. What connections does that have? Why would eh attack Bowser for no reason? Black Bowser was threat and he had to fight he regardless how he may have felt.
5. We don't know if Mario knows or not...that the issues if you eve bother reading.
Yea I know, but if Mario knew, he would tell Peach that everything wasn't Bowser's fault unless he is too dense to realize that. I never denied that he had to fight Bowser with the black paint.

Maybe he does Peach might have guess already, her comment is more of hopeful thing and just hoping that Bowser will not cause anymore problems. She said something like that every end of a game.

I'd rather have Donkey Kong in a Mario & Luigi game than a Paper Mario game tbh. Having a bonus playable character is that series' thing.
As for Color Splash, it was an improvement over Sticker Star but still has far too many issues to live up to the first 3 games. Huey is awesome and is probably my second favorite "main ally" in the RPGs after Tippi. The black paint concept was neat but they didn't really go anywhere with it, they could've removed all traces of Bowser being possessed and not much would change. The Koopalings had some interesting dialogue but they were still just the Koopalings. Their boss fights were also ruined by the return of required Things, not only that but it's actually worse than Sticker Star in that Sticker Star at least gave you a small chance to win with skill if you didn't have the ideal Thing. Color Splash is literally designed such that even if you deplete the boss's health with hacks, the battle won't be over until you use the Thing.
But the main thing that saddens me about Color Splash comes from an interview released last December I believe. "We are not currently looking at returning to old NPCs" out of "respect" for Miyamoto's IP. Tanabe and Intelligent Systems need to grow a pair like Alpha Dream and know when to say "no" to Miyamoto. And I know it's possible because Dream Team exists.

Well, with the YouTube videos of people calling them out on their BS even before the game was even released and that the game was being made after SS came out. I think they should think twice before they piss off the whole fanbase again.
Something like last December doesn't mean they keep their word.
I've seen the same slick said about Konami on how they were gonna phase outta making games for consoles and PCs and just make iPhone crappy games after MGSV came out.
So many people got mad at them that they backed down on their deal and are now starting to listen to their fans. (Like for example the recent Bomber Man game for the Switch and their DLC which features Bomber Man version of some of their IPs like Castlevania and Silent Hill monster.)
It just has to depend if Nintendo's new game Super Mario Odyssey does well for them. (It will since it's freaking Mario)
That and the woman even said that if enough people ask for a remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door? They'll make one.
(I think they might already be working on one since there are rumors of Superstar Saga getting a remake and Crash Bandicoot also didn't help much with their remasters as well.)
Just gotta believe and hope for the best. lol
Been a fan of the Paper Mario series ever since I started playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii... No joke! XD I saw a few ads and commercials about the Paper Mario series. But I didn't start playing them for the story until I played the third game in the series. Ever since then? Many games of 2016 have come and challenge what we consider as story driven games now. UnderTale and recently FNAF's World. I hope that someday I can create my own game based upon the Paper Mario series and pay tribute.
To be frank I prefer for then to do their own thing rather that coping success of their former director. Not once was I expecting PM3 out of this new team. The Sticker format works well just need to iron out some things still. This has potential if they keep working on it though I hear they are dropping it next game. So who know what new set of PM games will come.

Probably because the Switch doesn't have touch screens and most people want a game where beating the bad boss feels like an honor and not just cheap as SS. (Color Splash fixed a little bit of that?) But you still had to beat the main boss with a thingy. lol
