I would love to see that. I have not seen all of the levels. Please post a link if you make the video.
Allright! I already have a topic for it in the fan works section to keep it in one place, too.
Will probably go record the 1st e-Reader level while I let solidfalcon's awesome ideas sink in
Fun facts 'bout me: -I'm bisexual. -I am a huge Mario fan. Also Kingdom Hearts and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers of Sky. -I am making fangames and original projects: check out Super Mario RPG: The Prism Stone in the Fan Creations forum! -I have Asperger's Syndrome. -I am shy but I am friendly and don't dislike others for no reason.
We call solidfalcon Falcon Boy. He is full of ideas and is one of our most creative types.
I noticed.
His ideas are pretty awesome.
Are you guys interested in seeing my original projects? It's mostly Nintendo inspired tho.
EDIT: The girl in my profile pic is Alexia, and she's from my main original project. She is sorta that project's Peach/Amy Rose/sorta except more action oriented and a bit less princess-y.
EDIT 2: Before anyone thinks up nicknames for me, just call me Bas. Even though on some media my username is SpaghettiBasDev, Gardevoir, GardevoirTheShroob (on my old accounts) or something funny like that, just call me Bas ^^. People IRL like to make jokes with Bass or ''Bassie & Adriaan'' (a comedy duo in the Netherlands) and needless to say it got old quickly.

Yeah, we call Xandalf just Xan. I'm Rain or Rainy.
As for your projects, yeah. Feel free to make multiple threads in the Creations sections. We are open to all threads here. You will not get into trouble. Also, feel free to revive topics if you have something to contribute to the discussion. We are very understanding here and we are all close.
I'm Bas Oosterling, 18 years old, and a real Mario fan since childhood! SMW on GBA was my first game ever and it captivated me, then SMB3 came, and the Mario RPGs followed soon after! I am also doing game development on my own in Game Maker 8, actually a Mario RPG fangame atm and I might post about that in the appropriate forum ^^
Anyhow, I'd love to meet more Mario fans and all here soon enough!
I love talking to others. Keep in mind that I have Aspergers syndrome and I am depressed (actually the Mario RPGs and Mario in general sorta help me through it) so if my replies often seem a bit ''off'' it might be that, I can't always help it but I try to have the best fun I can possibly have!
Cheers! :-)
Hi! Pleased to meet you Bas! I'm Torchickens, if you like you can call me Tom. I'm from England. I love Nintendo, including obscure titles like Legendary Starfy and I also study Pokémon glitches.
I hope you enjoy your stay here.
Your first game was Super Mario World. Awesome. I love that game. It has great depth and feel that it is a classic. I love flying through the air with the cape. My first game ever was probably Pokémon Gold(?), though I'm not quite sure.
Nice, you're doing a Mario RPG fan game. That sounds great. Good luck with it!
That's OK! I am also on the autistic spectrum and have high-functioning autism. In real life, sometimes I feel shy and not quite sure how to express myself. However, when I get to know someone, it becomes more natural and when conversation builds up, I feel more confident and become more extrovert.
I'm sorry to hear that you are going through depression. Don't worry! You'll stay strong. I also experienced it in 2010.

It is starting to seem like most of use here have some type of motor skill disorders or other such disorders. I guess that is why we are so close to each other and welcoming.
Super Mario World was my game as well, but on SNES. I felt so proud when I could finally beat it in one day. I loved exploring for secret exits and felt so accomplished when I found one.

Thanks, I hope so too.
I love SMW and I often play ROM hacks too. Preferably vanilla hacks (hacks that only change level design and world map design and keep the SMW feel intact) or hacks that have SMB3 stuff mixed in. I'm also working on a 2nd fangame called Project Mario Bros. 3 which is sorta NSMB except looking like SMB3, and I'm adding Mario & Luigi enemies there too, such as Gritty Goombas, Sharpeas, etc ^^
Feel free to check the fangame (Super Mario RPG: The Prism Stone) out, Popple appears there too as the main/primary antagonist, with Midbus as his rookie, but he'll probably be ousted in the endgame by the true antagonist. Similar to how Dark Bowser ousted Fawful and Dimentio ousted Count Bleck ^^
I also have trouble to express myself and at times I find myself sorta stubborn and obstinate ^^ I'm a bit of a cynic in regards to the world and the human race (due to the lack of acceptance I've had to endure throughout my life for my autism, my depression and the fact I'm bisexual) but while I used to sulk about it and all, I've learnt its better to just live for a good cause, as that feels right to me.
However, when I get to know someone, it becomes more natural and when conversation builds up, I feel more confident and become more extrovert.
Same here.
Thanks for your understanding about depression. Lately it's getting better as well ^^

Nice. Sounds fun. I have never actually played through a hack, even though I have some hacking skills. I know a little bit of the Game Boy Z80, so if I have knowledge of a game's engine, I can write a custom program for it (to be executed in the game). Though the only games I really know the inner workings of are the Generation I and II main series Pokémon games.
Cool. That sounds interesting. So does it have things like the Mega Mushroom in retro graphics?
Sure. I'll check it out later. I think that would be a nice idea. I like stories where there is a character thought to be the main antagonist but they turn out not to be.
With me, I like to spend a lot of time with things that interest me, and once I start work on something I don't get bored, which surprises some people. I used to play Runescape and collect level 99 skill capes, but I eventually quit it because I felt that I wanted to find a more creative way to spend my time. So I got into wiki editing and helped out a wiki about the Legendary Starfy series, and worked more on researching Pokémon glitches.
Often, I can only focus on one task at a time. So if I am in the middle of doing something like writing an article, I might not be able to think of what to say to someone as well compared to if I was doing nothing. I have also noticed that when I am studying I prefer not to have noise or a distraction such as the television, however, I do like to listen to certain music on loop to help me work.

That is understandable. People are often closed minded and abide to preconceived societal norms. For example, the idea that only heterosexual people can marry, and the stigma towards sexualities other than heterosexual. People should be able to live the way they like as long as it floats their boat and does not harm anyone.
Recently, I have been questioning my gender identity as there are certain stereotypically feminine things I like and I want to associate with them. I have recently got into Sanrio for instance. I feel that it has left me feeling a little more sensitive about what people think of me than usual. But my heart says that I should do whatever makes me happy and not worry about what others think of me. I am my own person.
That is the best approach. I think it is in what makes us all human. I believe in the idea that we should live for what we enjoy, as well as the hospitality of others. Without this approach, we would destroy each other and there would be no positive change. When we do something that is good, either be it you achieved something or you helped another, it feels so much better than if you did nothing positive.

No mega mushroom probably, but I am thinking of having the blue shell powerup, as well as the ice flower, raccoon & tanooki suits, and fanmade powerups (Bomb Suit being one of them. and fusion powerups; Fire Leaf, Fire Hammer Suit or whatever). Also considered having lots of more flowers (earth flower? thunderflower?) and a Magikoopa suit.
Thanks
Same here. I do get bored when doing the same thing for a long time tho so often I have to switch. My interests other than gamedev and Nintendo games are mostly obscure stuff that not many people know about. such as ROM hacks, stuff about old consoles/games, fangames, flash series/SMBZ/etc. and obscure music (anime/video game/movie OSTs, 8bit/16bit music, VGM remixes, music on Newgrounds, OCRemix, Touhou doujin music by those japanese music artists, and dubstep/trance/EDM artists that are super underrated. also for less obscure music I really love Linkin Park, and recently rappers like Jay Z, but in the end I can listen to any music, I am a music lover and dont hate any music as long as there's heart and soul put into it). I am also fascinated by nature and love taking bike trips on sunny days looking at everything around me.
I can pretty much focus on 2 things at once but not much more. and not always too.
Ikr. Recently I try not to care much about being judged. It says more about them than about me.
I actually have 2 lesbian characters in my original project.
Indeed. Bring the best out of our life. We're not immortal, so we gotta use our time to make it worthwhile.

Have you guys ever seen a hack game called Super Mario World: return to Dinosaur Land. I bought a gold SNES cartridge of it and it is awesome. Vanilla hack with new levels and worlds, like Wiggler Woods. I enjoyed it.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors was an SNES gem that never got a true sequel so I also bought a cart made by two fans and it was better than the original.
Metroid even has some carts for sell made by fans.

Ah, I see.
Awesome, that's cool. I am also into obscure things, I know a few other people who like obscure stuff too, like Hoopa. Which old games do you enjoy? In the UK we have a magazine called Retro Gamer that covers old games and systems. Nice.
I see. Great. I also enjoy nature. I like visiting nice places too. Of those places, beaches and pretty picturesque or historical towns or villages are what I enjoy the most, like Whitby.

It rings a bell. ^^
Have you heard of the NES hack of Super Mario Bros. called Extra Mario Bros.? The technical work on that is amazing. It's practically a new game.

That was the only thing I hated about Return to Dinosaur Land. They used the same bosses from Super Mario World. No changes made to the battles. Bosses are important to me.

Well, I'm pretty sure you can guess who I am. I expect either a) obvious answer or b) sarcastic ironic answer. It doesn't matter because Mario is awesome.

I earned contempt from a lot of guys here. 'specially that one in the glasses. Yes, I know a lot of guys here wear glasses, but I know him when I see him.
