Hello everybody,  Smooth Joe here...Probably I should say my reasons to be here..
I saw the site and really like how it was made, I mean let be honest..there are not so many sites like this one dedicated t osome games and with Ranks and a background and shalalalala. I was thinking..¿what if I made my own avatar of a Salary Boo  that works for Lady Boo?..that sounds terrific!...But Sadly my draw sucked so I just put a Boo and a Bowser logo, you know..because the Boo I was talking about want to be as evil as him and bla bla bla...
My favorite heroes on the Mario RPG´s, probably will be Mario from Paper Mario (BTW I love the Paper Mario Saga...yes...even the Wii one)...but also I like Mario&Luigi ones.
About my likes of an sidekick of the game...probably Koops and Bombette are my favorites...¿About the villain?...Fawfull...¡I mean God dammit Fawfull!..he survived on the first Mario&Luigi  and was working undercover on Mario&Luigi PIT...and then he conquered the hole freaking  world (For a while...)..But he did it!...so yeah..he rocked.

I hope this site doesn´t get down for a while...¿and  about me?...To be active as possible.

I was a bit inactive, but we all try to be here as much as possible. Just post in any thread you like and do not worry about reviving a topic if you want to discuss something.

I am also a huge Koops fan. He is one of the most developed of the Paper Mario partners and he was the first partner I beat Thousand-Year Door with as my primary.

I like the dialogue you can pick in some situations.

I wonder if Mario having dialogue would be a good idea for future games. I like the silent hero, but that is kind of like many Nintendo heroes.

Yeah most Nintendo protagonists are silent protags. There are expetions for this rule tho

I personally like silent protags as wwll for the reasons Xan said. I try to deconstruct the concept of one in my rpg tho

I like on EarthBound where the only things you can say are Yes and No. EarthBound even made fun of that itself.

Meh, when they have personality, you enjoy them a lot more. You still feel like you're controlling them as well. They should give Mario dialogue and a personality, especially since Charles Martinet does such a great job.

I inferred that there's a possibility of a non-silent character done wrong in your eyes, which is why you like silent versions, but I'm saying that Mario should just be non-silent. He'd be more interesting. He's not really the type of character that's supposed to "reflect" the player's thoughts. It's better suited to games where your character is someone you created, like in Spore.

Some series, like Silent Hill, would suck with a protagonist that never talked. They basically did that with the 4th game and it hurt the game.

Homecoming was the start of the downfall for me. I thought the last good Silent Hill was 3, or maybe even 4 if story counts alone.

Now the series is dead, so apparently somebody agreed with me.

Homecoming did have a nice psychological twist, so I agree with that aspect. The characters and story were up there with the best, but it was similar to Silent Hill 2 in that regard.

Obviously, they are not always good. It depends on the series. It is fitting for many Nintendo series, however. Some people may like Mario less if he starts talking a certain way, and his dialogue would have to be pretty normal compared to the more lively personalities like Yoshi Kid.

Mario never ages.

He will be the same age forever, like Ash from Pokemon.

I need to become a plumber so I can get closer to Mario. If you see a story about somebody getting stuck in a toilet while looking for talking mushrooms, that was me!
