I adore Yoshi Story and still have my N64 copy of it even though my N64 is broken. I never got why Yoshi's Island fans hate every other game in the series.
I find the Mario Sociopath Theory complete BS. Sure he's done bad stuff but he's FRIGGIN HUMAN. And the RPGs have lots of stuff where he goes all out of his way to help people in need. But the fact he's a hero doesnt mean he can't have flaws right? I think he's more of an anti hero at worst.
Killing Goombas? Sure. But the goombas he kills are evil. Does he kill Goombella? Goombario? Other friendly Goomba NPCs? I think not.
Same for Koopas, Boos and practically every enemy thing.
The stomping Luigi's foot thing?
Sure, it's a jerk action. But does that make him a sociopath? No. And he supports his brother in the RPGs too. Even hugs him when Luigi cries in the M&L games.
Also, this will get me shot, but... Game Theory really looks way too deep into things in general. It's not even funny IMO. Half of their videos make little to no sense to me and I generally don't care about them anymore.
I prefer the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon subseries over normal Pokémon. I prefer old SMB (SMB1, 2, 3, SMW, etc.) over NSMB and Mario 3D. I don't hate any Mario character. IMO they are all equally special and full of creativity on the developers' part. I actually really don't like Minecraft that much. When I was at high school, everyone was talking about MC, all the freshman boys were playing it on laptops. I was like ''WTF?''. I have grown to like the art style, but that's pretty much it. Also, there occasionally were freshman who started to shove the game down my throat and urge me to play it. I began to develop feelings of hatred and urges to punch them M&L3 Bowser-style. (I didn't. Luckily.)
I actually think Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 had potential but was screwed by executives and deadlines. A remake should happen expanding on everything and fixing everything and make the game truly good. By Nintendo, and Nintendo should take over the Sonic franchise to ensure quality.
I want a real Mario & Sonic platformer crossover and no Olympics.
I absolutely can't stand all those people who think Game Theory is some sort of Gospel and blindly believe everything they say. Same for people who blindly believe reviewers.
Fun facts 'bout me: -I'm bisexual. -I am a huge Mario fan. Also Kingdom Hearts and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers of Sky. -I am making fangames and original projects: check out Super Mario RPG: The Prism Stone in the Fan Creations forum! -I have Asperger's Syndrome. -I am shy but I am friendly and don't dislike others for no reason.
I do not believe Mario is a sociopath, but as a Psychology major I feel the need to add that sociopaths can go out of their way to help others, and do nice things. Often times they may have ulterior motives, but sometimes they may not have them and may just do whatever they feel in the moment. They are very impulsive.
As for the topic, I hate the Silver Coin Challenges from Diddy Kong Racing. I think many would agree with me, but I still feel it belongs here. That kills the game for so many people.
90's just had so much variety. I still have not played all the great SNES games. Over 100 games easy I still need to play. I cannot say the same for Gamecube. GBA just copied the SNES in many ways.
Sony fans would agree that PS2 era or maybe late PS era was the strongest, so they loved the early 2000's. That was my favorite time for non-Nintendo.
Would rather go to Waffle Kingdom than this Mushroom crap.

Considering Game "Theory" is just bovine large intestinal waste products in the first place, I don't find your unpopular opinion to be unreasonable.
I'm sure sane people unironically agree with you.
Gawd, some people can't differentiate cartoon slapstick and actual violence.
Many gamers love looking for deeper meanings. It worked for the Silent Hill series. Sometimes people look too deep though and see things that are not there or were never intended to be taken a certain way.
I still like Yoshi's New Island.
Mario Superstar Baseball is the most addictive Mario game.

Well, Mario shouldn't be the place to look for "deeper" meanings. Still, I don't like Game Theory for popularizing the notion that Mario is a psychopathic killer when he is hardly one.
I think Mario Super Sluggers is better than Superstar Baseball, but an opinion is an opinion.
SPM and Thousand-Year Door had very deep themes. I believe the games are fine if they have deep themes, but fans should not look too much into things that are not there.
I liked Sluggers for the fields, but the gameplay was not as addictive for some reason. It is hard to explain.

Which Mario Party is your favorite? Mine was 6.
Six! We share the same tastes. I also really like Mario Party 4 and Mario Party 7, but it's okay if you think they suck more than a Shrooboid Brat with a lollipop.
Well, if you think Mario Party's Bowser is a communist, then Mario Party 9 and 10 must be an entire Russia or something.

I loved 4. It might be in my top 3 Mario Party games. 5 and 7 were good too. I thought the GameCube Parties were a little underrated when compared to the N64 games. Day and Night system was my favorite, and games like Granite Getaway or Light Up My Night rock.

I agree, I don't think the N64 parties hold a candle (pun to Light Up My Night not intended) to the GCN games. I don't know why people believe the N64 ones are better when the GCN ones generally beat them out. It's not like the N64 is totally free of billshot, right? I loved Day/Night too. It's a nice aesthetic appeal, and the gameplay mechanics aren't too annoying since the day/night is predictable.

I think it's nostalgia being the driving force as well. Oh, and ZOMG COSTUMEZ in Mario Party 2. But I still like costumes to return.
The main reasons N64 Mario Parties aren't that great are that they don't have team battles and their minigames are pretty lacking compared to the sequels.

I never like using nostalgia as an excuse for somebody's beliefs. However, I believe people do not remember all the crappy mini-games in the first few games or the short boards. Remember those control stick mini-games than made you burn the palm of your hand? I'll take The Final Countdown and Helipopper any day from 7. The sheer amount of mini-games in 5,6 and 7 alone is astounding.
One person I know said Mario Party 6 sucked because it was just a bunch of chores, literally. Tending the garden, dusting the house, mowing the lawn.

I personally do like the idea of nostalgia and believe in it but no I dont use it as an excuse, for example I can see some flaws SMB3 and SMW have and I dont entirely hate newer NSMB either.
Another unpopular opinion; I really, really hate First Person Shooters, but only the overly cinematic realistic kind, if it has a nice retro 8bit twist I can get into it and even like/love it if its really good
