Well the tricky part is understand portions much like drawings is. Start out with a skeleton/sketch of what ya want and work that generally what do anyway. Draw a lot as a kid so I have the basic ideas and pixel art is no different just a lot smaller.
An interesting piece I did do is using a Scott Pilgrim Sprite as reference and turning that into a digital art. It does look like the sprite as if it was enlarged but it was constructed pixel by pixel (More or less).
I'm more of writer the a drawing tbh, I have a bit of a overflowing imagination.
I sprited a bit years ago, but 3D modeling's my thing. I can never really make a sprite look right without making it look blocky because I'm not accustomed to confining my drawings to a grid.
I used to be part of an older mario/nintendo themed forum, and I actually really missed it, so here I am at this cool site. Can't wait to get to know all of you.
A little about me:
You can call me Vulpes - I use that handle pretty frequently on forums. I am 25 years old, I graduated college in Dec. 2013 with a BA in English, emphasis in print journalism. I love video games, of almost all kinds. My favorite gaming series are Paper Mario, Donkey Kong Country, Banjo Kazooie, Animal Crossing, Minecraft, Kingdom Hearts, Batman: Arkham, Portal. Individual games: Yoshi's Story, Super Mario World, The Stanley Parable, Super Mario Bros. 3, Pokemon (specifically Red, Sapphire, White and X), Fantasy Life and I'm sure many others, but those are the firsts that come to mind. I do a lot of writing in my free time and dabble in other artistic things - I watercolor, play ukulele, draw and do graphic design.
I'm a Potterhead and take great pride in being a Ravenclaw. I actually just planned my second trip to Harry Potter World in Orlando, Florida for the summer. I'll finally get to see the Diagon Alley addition, and I can't wait. I like to explore places by foot; on my days off I will take trips through town. Frequently it's to a coffee shop or bookstore and sometimes somewhere in between that I can sit and write. In terms of books I love Harry Potter, obviously, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Hunger Games, Bright Dead Things, Metamorphosis, I Will Never Be Beautiful Enough to Make Us Beautiful Together, Slouching Towards Bethlehem, Their Eyes Were Watching God and several, several others.
I really can't think of anything else to say about me.

Aw, I would love to play once I get my 3DS working again. It's suddenly, very suddenly, decided to do this strange thing where it completely freezes when I try to connect to the WiFi. I haven't tried it since the day it did it and I called Nintendo and they said I need to repair it. If the WiFi isn't on, my 3DS still works absolutely fine. It's just connecting. Which sucks because I have an Animal Crossing blog, and I haven't been able to post to it because I can't upload my stuff to the Miiverse to pull from right now. :\ Thankfully it's a Tumblr so that I can just reblog stuff during this awkward void.
And about your 3ds that sucks. I hope you get it fixed soon ^^
Yeah I've been a bit lazy about it because the rest of my DS works completely fine, it just freezes when I try to log onto the WiFi. But I'll get it taken care of eventually.

Did you see my topic in the general section about the Sun and Moon starters? I am getting Moon! ^_^ Which one do you want? I am also going with the water starter this gen.
I like Infernape, Lucario, Garchomp, Gallade, Gardevoir, Slaking, and Sceptile a lot. I am hoping for some more Megas. Imagine Mega Infernape.
