I have played so much Nintendo 3DS over the past few years. This is a list of my top 10 most played games for the 3DS! I am only counting 3DS games and not DS games which I have played for a long time such as Pokemon Pearl (3rd place if I did).
10. Resident Evil Revelations - 60:43
I obviously enjoy killing zombies too much. I am shocked I played this game for so long, but the story mode is addicting and the game includes a post game survival mode where you pick a character, weapons, and level and then survive waves of various monsters. This can easily eat up time (and flesh!) so I am not too shocked, I suppose.
9. Ocarina of Time 3D - 68:20
Yep, I spent this much time on a game I already played. This game has so many dungeons and a fairly long story. This version of the game also includes a boss rush mode after the game and Master Quest, which offers some bonus time and new material. The boss rush is addicting and I always try to defeat bosses in various ways while trying to better my times.
8. Pokemon Alpha Sapphire - 81:13
Man, we are really getting up there in play time and we are not even halfway through the list! This one is obvious. It is Pokemon. I spent too much time slacking with my Slaking and obviously loves fighting at the battle area in the post game. This game is fairly new and still reaches my top ten. That is impressive!
7. Mario Kart 7 - 84:31
Good lord, I played this much Mario Kart? I had no idea. This is my most shocking entry. I love to play the battle mode and I find the races addicting. The Retro courses always keep me entertained and the new levels are superb. This game also has coin grinding to unlock parts for the karts so that keeps me playing for the rewards.
6. Bravely Default - 95: 02
WOW! A classic-style RPG is always a huge time sink for me. I love this game and I still experiment with various party setups and strategies. I already leveled to the max level and mastered every class. Plus, optional bosses are all over the place! This story is also fairly lengthy depending on if you go for both of the endings. I recently considered during another play of the story mode so this game will likely break 100 hours soon.
5. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - 110:52
This game came out about a month ago. I got it a week later and it is already in the top half of this list of most played! This game is addicting and crafting armor and exploring takes a lot of patience and time. I love hunting the new monsters and I am not even close to finishing the missions in this game. I am not even halfway!
4. Fire Emblem Awakening - 123:47
This is no surprise to anybody that knows me. This game will probably be in the top 10 of anybody's list if they own the game. I love trying out each difficulty and replaying the game. Each party member is like a family member and I love trying out new squads when I replay some of the levels. The story is fun to play over and over again. Somehow it stays fresh. This game has true value. The character interactions also add to the length since I love reading the dialogue between party members.
3. Pokemon X - 210:38
The new Pokemon generation for the 3DS did not fail to deliver. This game has one of the longest stories in all of Pokemon and it sheer variety of Pokemon can be a bit overwhelming. I love that almost of us had different teams throughout the game because of the variety. The Battle Maison and post game remain addicting and I spent way too much time there building teams and battling in various style such as doubles and triples.
2. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - 383:52
I thought this would be at the top of the list! What the heck could have topped this game and the massive amount of time I spent on it? This was my first Monster Hunter game. I spent so much time learning the basics and I played the game just yesterday. I think I like this one a little more than Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. I crafted more armor and weapons during this game and I am still working on making more for future battles and hunts that I still have not unlocked.
1. Animal Crossing New Leaf - 462:35
My first Animal Crossing game obviously proved too addicting for me to handle. This time easily takes the first spot on this list by easily dwarfing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and even Pokemon Pearl! I adore this game. This is the time of game that you really can play every day and experience something new. The game encourages this with real time holidays and seasons. The various neighbors that move in keep me entertained and I have not even met half of them. I start over on this game from time to time in order to make fresh towns just to experience new faces. This game will likely stay on top for a long time.
Well, what do you think? Were any of you shocked? I would love to see some of you play times!
