This is an enemy database for Tomato Adventure of all enemies with stats, that also introduces the plot, some of the main characters. Tomato Adventure is AlphaDream's previous RPG for the Game Boy Advance before Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
I hope you like it and maybe it'll come useful for some people.
Plot:
Tomato Adventure is set in the Ketchup Kingdom (ケチャプー王国). It is a kingdom "for children (ruled) by children". The leader of the Ketchup Kingdom is an evil genius with an IQ of over 5000 named King Abīra; who resembles a toddler and wears a tomato suit that covers the whole body and face. He is self-absorbed and does not relate to the residents well.
An official Ketchup Kingdom policy means that children who do not like tomatoes are banished to the quarry village borderline to the Ketchup Kingdom known as Koborē Village until they learn to like them. These people are labelled as "Droppers".
Demiru (the primary protagonist of the game) dislikes tomatoes, so he lives in a bus shaped house in Koborē Village. One day it was Tomato Day (トマトきねん日), an official holiday and Demiru was watching his "Dynamite Television" (ダイナマイトテレビ) that his friend Seremo created.
On television, King Abīra announced that he had finished the development of a machine called the "Super Cara Cooker" (スーパーキャラクッカー), promising that it would allow children to stay as children forever, but in actuality (this was unknown until later), its true purpose is to turn everyone into toys.
The television turned off by itself and Demiru tried switching it on and off again, maybe to see if he could get it to work(?), but in the end he ended up destroying it.
Demiru went to see Seremo. Demiru apparently accepted that his television was broken and laughed about it. Seremo told Demiru he came just in time and gave Demiru his first Gimmick known as the Gear Yo-Yo. He wanted Demiru to play with it, and taught him how to use it in battle and adjust its difficulty via the menu.
When Demiru stepped outside, his girlfriend Pasaran appeared. At first Pasaran was running all over trying to find Demiru, but when they found each other they discussed how they had promised to go to the Toy Ruins near Chichikaba Forest together, and they set off to go. Since both Demiru and Pasaran are Droppers, the guard of Koborē Village known as the Surveillance Kid was hesitant to let them go free.
Pasaran reasoned that since it is Tomato Day (an annual holiday) it would be fair that they should be able to go outside for a week, but in the end Demiru had to defeat the Surveillance Kid in battle for him to let him and Pasaran to go free.
In the Toy Ruins, Demiru and Pasaran find a large silver and pink box. Pasaran tells Demiru that her possession called the Gimmick Robo was undoubtedly in there; so it is apparent that it was stolen. Later Pasaran gets kidnapped and taken by a hook into Burikki and Gorikki (faithful minions of King Abīra)'s ship called the Shining Disk Carona No. 2 (かがやくえんばん カローナ2ごう). Demiru grabbed on to the hook and listened. Through a television screen, King Abīra gave his minions a "well done", and told them that he has finally found who he was looking for. He ordered that Pasaran should be taken to the Gimmick Palace.
Demiru confronted Burikki and Gorikki. He defeated them in battle but they were not down, so they turned on the "Super Litter Switch" (スーパーポイすてスイッチ) and it opened up a hole in the floor that Demiru fell through.
Fortunately he was not harmed and landed in the Tomato Pond (Gimmick Palace's moat). Demiru climbed up from Tomato Pond and made it to the Gimmick Palace but he was too late and Pasaran had already been taken there, and a strong wall blocked him from entering the palace. Suddenly a mysterious mole appeared (later revealed in the story to be a spy known as Rereku). He told Demiru that the key to getting in to the palace and breaking the wall is the six Toy Parts; which characters known as the six Super Kids (ruled by Abīra) hold.
Now Demiru has a secondary goal; to defeat the six Super Kids to get the six Toy Parts, so that he can enter the Gimmick Palace and rescue Pasaran.
Main protagonists:
P.S. I have used the romanizations provided on the official Japanese Nintendo mini-site, except when macrons should be used.
Demiru (デミル)
Demiru is the primary protagonist of Tomato Adventure and the first playable hero. He is eight years old and dislikes tomatoes. As a result, he is banished to the quarry village Koborē Village, borderline to the Ketchup Kingdom, where other residents of the Ketchup Kingdom are sent until they learn to like tomatoes. They are labelled as "Droppers".
Demiru has an easy-going personality. Troubles do not bother him much, he is an optimist who takes them lightly. He is said to be naive and he is easily flattered, but he has a great spirit in helping his friends and has a strong heart for his girlfriend Pasaran. He can get irritated at times but quickly gets over his troubles. He once got scared in the Chichikaba Forest when Seremo got a fruit stuck on his head, apparently mistaking him for a monster.
Pasaran (パサラン)
Pasaran is Demiru's girlfriend. She is seven years old and also dislikes tomatoes. She has a cheerful personality and lives in Koborē Village with Demiru. She used to have a robot known as the Gimmick Robo but it was stolen.
After Demiru and Pasaran went to the Toy Ruins near Chichikaba Forest together as they had promised, she noticed that her prized possession known as the Gimmick Robo had been stolen.
Later Pasaran got kidnapped and taken by a hook into Burikki and Gorikki's ship called the Shining Disk Carona No. 2, where King Abīra tells them on a television that she should be taken to the Gimmick Palace.
Demiru grabbed on to the hook and confronted Burikki and Gorikki. He defeated them in battle but they used the "Super Litter Switch" to open the floor and get rid of Demiru, hence Demiru and Pasaran got separated until the end of the game.
King Abīra wanted to use the Super Cara-Cooker. In order to power it up, he trapped Pasaran in a machine and extracted her "Heart Energy". Heart Energy consists of "dislike", "cry", "anger", "heart-pounding" and "lovelove" energy respectively. Demiru and friends were able to spy on King Abīra, Burikki and Gorikki building up and extracting this energy thanks to Rereku's Spy Data.
Aresa (アレサ)
Aresa is the first playable character to join Demiru's team, first met in Mayo Hole of Mayonen Land. She is a seven year old girl who wears orange clothing and loves mechanical things. She has her own robot known as the Tomatorobo but it attacked Demiru so he had to destroy it. Aresa follows Abīra as a fad. She joined Demiru after he told her that he planned to meet Abīra (and defeat the Six Super Kids in order to meet him), but according to the Nintendo official mini-site's first characters page, this was a misunderstanding (maybe she wasn't aware Demiru had planned to actually confront him).
Sofubī (ソフビー)
Sofubī is a ten year old, chubby green frog who likes to wear posh/fashionable clothing. He has a calm personality. He joins Demiru's team as the third playable character, hoping that he will be able to lose weight. He is met in Ois Town, where he unfortunately got stuck in a Nomikonda and had to be pulled out with the "Tug of War Doll". Sofubī has his own villa which has its own restaurant and gym.
In the story, Sofubī designed the "Full Suit". He can also play the the organ and played a "help me" melody on Moon Church's Prayer Organ.
Rereku (レレク)
Rereku is a nine year old mole. He is a spy who is Mole Newspaper's correspondent #007 (a reference to James Bond). Rereku sometimes appears to tell Demiru and friends the secrets of the Super Kids. Though Demiru and friends meet him a lot, he doesn't actually join the team as a playable character until they meet him in the office of Mole Newspaper in Soy City with his associate Makubi. Apparently, everyone compares him to a captious old man. He gives Demiru and friends Spy Data; recordings that show Abīra, Burikki and Gorikki working to extract Pasaran's Heart Energy.
Some other supporting characters:
Seremo (セレモ)
Seremo is an eight year old inventor. He loves the toy like weapons known as Gimmicks and lives in Koborē Village with Demiru. He created Demiru's explosive Dynamite Television. He admires the six Gimmick creators known as the Hanzo Brothers. He loves to teach Demiru various Gimmick and battle tips.
Hanzo Brothers (ハンゾ兄弟 or ハンゾーたち)
(Hanzō Hanzon Hanzoro Hanzochi Hanzone Hanzora)
Six Gimmick creators admired by Seremo who wear clothes, have hair styles and labs of different colours. When Demiru and friends acquire one of the six Toy Parts from the six Super Kids, he can show it to one of the Hanzo Brothers to have them create new Gimmicks. They are found in the different coloured Hanzo Labs found between key areas.
The first Hanzo Brother is named Hanzō (ハンゾー) (red clothes, hair, lab), the second is named Hanzon (ハンゾン) (blue clothes, hair, lab), the third is named Hanzoro (ハンゾロ) (pink clothes, hair, lab), the fourth Hanzochi (ハンゾチ) (grey clothes, special round head thing, dark blue lab), the fifth is named Hanzone (ハンゾネ) (yellow clothes, yellow hat, brownish red lab) and the sixth is named Hanzora (ハンゾラ) (green clothes, green hair, green lab).
Kaizō (カイゾー)
A Gimmick creator found in an ominous laboratory underneath Oisu Town. His name is likely taken from the Japanese word kaizou (改造), meaning "remodel" or "mod"/"hack".
Kaizō will give optional new Gimmicks to Demiru and friends in exchange for the Pacifiers that can be found hidden in various places or exchanged with Peddler Kids.
Apparently he dislikes the Hanzo Brothers, and is not very warm to others at first (according to the Japanese Wikipedia article).
The Barubī (バルビー)
A rock band from Rock Island, near Nampu Lagoon. It is becoming increasingly popular in the Ketchup Kingdom. In the story, they didn't come up with any new songs until recently. They did think of some songs but thought they weren't good enough. Demiru helped them by making them listen to the Awesome Music Box (すごいオルゴール), which electrified them and motivated them to play its song.
Nansu (the red one) plays the guitar, Oruta (the green one) plays the triangle, Mikaro (the blue one) plays the maracas.
After completing the game, you can listen to a sound test through Demiru's television; where the Barubī will play one of the game's BGM of your choice.
Peddler Kids (ぎょうしょうキッズ)
Three year old children found in many places, who will give Demiru and friends Pacifiers, in exchange for a full "awesomeness" meter (a bar that fills up as Demiru and friends successfully use attacks); but they have a bias in giving more Pacifiers if they were earned from specific partners. Their trademark is the sparkling crown on their head.
They are rumoured to have formally been princes somewhere in the Ketchup Kingdom.
The Tomatorio (トマトリオ)
Tomato characters that appear every now and then. Rettoma is a ripe, red tomato who narrates the game. Tomakī is a yellow soft-boiled tomato who tells the heroes strategy tips. Tomagurin is a green unripe tomato who is always sleeping, and can be found on top of billboards in places with enemies. They hope that people like Demiru and Pasaran will start to like tomatoes.
According to an official Nintendo Online Magazine interview, these characters were added later in the game's development after the name of the game was changed from Gimmick Land to Tomato Adventure.
Butchabesu (ブッチャベス)
Her name might be Butcher Beth. The owner of Lard Colosseum of Oisu Town, where monsters are raised to fight each other. She is the Gimmick Master selection committee chair woman and a heavy weight. Her attendant is Richard.
She likes Demiru and rewards the team with Gimika cards if they master all Gimmicks from one of the four categories (Timing, Multiple-Hit, Heart-Pounding, Speed) at level 7 (hence they become Gimmick Master of that category).
Gimikamania (ギミカマニア)
A kid resembling a pair of cards in the Lard Colosseum who explains the card battle game Gimika and is a good opponent for beginner Gimika players to battle with in order to raise their rank. His/her appearance transformed after playing too much Gimika(?).
Main antagonists:
King Abīra (アビーラ王)
The ruler of the Ketchup Kingdom. Resembles a toddler wearing a tomato outfit sucking on a pacifier. He has an IQ of over 5000. His outfit and big sunglasses hide his face.
He promised on television that a machine called the Super Cara Cooker will allow everyone to stay as children forever, but its true intention is to turn everyone into toys. He loves tomatoes. He rules over the Six Super Kids and has loyal minions called Burikki and Gorikki.
Spoilers: It is revealed that he wants to marry Pasaran. In the last boss battle, his final form is Abirasu.
Burikki and Gorikki (ブリッキ&ゴリッキ)
Two purple boys with zippers and orange stripes on their arms who are faithful minions of Abīra, but somehow they are very foolish. Both are six years old. Burikki is the tall and thin one. He seems to act as the leader.
Gorikki is the small and chubby one. He has a tendency to end his speech with "Gori". They love their flying ship called Flying Disk Karōna #2.
Spoilers: Burikki and Gorikki originally showed an apparent good relationship with each other. This was until the final boss battle with them in the Gimmick Palace. They had tried a more violent than usual tactic to defeat Demiru and friends involving twin lasers (Burikki) and a portable cannon (Gorikki), but they still were defeated. Burikki hesitantly told Gorikki that he hates him. Gorikki replied that he also hates Burikki. Burikki said that it's clear "Gorikki is an enemy" and they shot each other with Burikki's last words being more aggressive than Gorikki.
The Six Super Kids (スーパーキッズ)
A team of six powerful kids ruled by King Abīra. Each one holds one of the six Toy Parts that Demiru needs to assemble to create a robot that will break through Gimmick Palace's wall. Though they are promoted with posters, a resident of Koborē Village said it's somewhat scary because she does not truly know them.
Ūpusu (ウープス)
The first Super Kid, found in the Maison de Ūpusu of Mayonen Land. She is nine years old. Has a white face, smooth skin and pink hair with a heart shaped pattern on her head. Can be seen in her portable bathtub holding a mirror.
Auchi (アウチ)
The second Super Kid. He is seven years old. Loves rock 'n roll and wears clothes like a music star. Seems to like donuts and has a swirly head pattern. Found in the Auchi Theater in his turtle shaped submarine under the waters of Rock Island, where he has done concerts day and night. He wants to decorate the theater.
What (ホワット, Howatto)
The third Super Kid. He is eight years old. He is fought in Lard Colosseum of Oisu Town. He is a giant who was forced to gain weight. He grows restive or violent towards thinner children. The official Anglicization of his name seems to be "What" according to a sign in the Lard Colosseum. He can be seen with his "Special Lard Juice" with "100% fat".
Rirubi (リルビ)
The fourth Super Kid. Lives inside of a tree in Tall Tall Valley. Mysterious bird like creature who tells Demiru and friends she knows everything, including her own fate and the fate of the heroes. Battles Demiru and friends saying she doesn't like it but it doesn't go against fate.
Inside of the tree is a lift to the exit, two rooms with metal flooring covered with "?" tiles, curtains and some sort of teleportation machine. She appeared out of a portal and welcomed Demiru and friends to "Magical Living" (マジカルリビング), which is possibly the name of the place or the place she came from.
Spoilers:
Despite being a villain, she seems polite. Demiru and friends found her early on and defeated her to earn the fourth Toy Part. They commented it was easier than usual this time, however, after they left, the Toy Part was stolen by an invisible person (though their outline is still visible).
Rirubi had covered the residents of Tall Tall Valley with magic paint, turning them partly invisible apart from their clothes/outline. Demiru and friends got a Gondola Ticket and climbed Su・Cream Mountain to get to Moon Church. There the Crybaby Sisters (Besu, Beso, Bena) taught that a machine called the Amedosu Machine that converts tears into rain was broken. In order to fix it, Demiru and friends climbed up to the Moon Balloon (an air balloon) where they found the Prayer Organ.
A ghost known as Organsukī appeared and taught Demiru and friends that he had sacrificed his life three years ago to power up the organ so that he could infuse it with his spirit. Sofubī can play the organ, so he wanted to demonstrate his skills in playing it, however, Demiru and friends had to defeat Organsukī to prove how good they are with their fingertips.
They played a tune on the Prayer Organ considered as a "Help Me" melody. It sent a distress signal which Hanzochi picked up, so he used his "Super Teleport Shoes" to get there in an instant and fixed the Amedosu Machine. The Crybaby Sisters then cried into the machine, and rain fell on to Tall Tall Valley, removing the effect of Rirubi's magical paint.
Back in Tall Tall Valley, Demiru and friends found the identity of the thief (who is now visible) because they recognized his/her shape. He/she is a "Nekoumori Kid" known as Tede (ねこうもりキッズ の手デ). However, Tede ran away and escaped into the tree where Rirubi was. Demiru tried to get in but the tree was closed off, so he had to defeat the roots of the tree.
When Demiru and friends made it into the tree, they discovered that they were late. Tede resurrected Rirubi as Desu Rirubi (likely Death Rirubi) (who now looks like a monster, i2.minus.com/iYK1r6kPmLFXK.png and has two hidden extra heads i2.minus.com/i6LRHKnuRefxk.png) by throwing a Toy Part into a machine in the room that Rirubi was found.
Desu Rirubi fried Tede with a laser. It was then up to Demiru and friends to defeat her and retrieve the Toy Part.
Sharapu (シャラプ)
The fifth Super Kid. Found at Soy Satellite (ソイ衛星); a location set in space, presumably related to Soy City. A blue electrical monster holding big yellow + and - signs. Demiru has to make both signs minus in order for his attacks against his connector to work.
Spoilers:
Demiru got to Soy Satellite after participating in Soy TV's "thumb championship", where the player has to mash A to get to the top of the thumb championship wall, before Nansu of Nampu Lagoon and Dr. Enokin of Mayonen Land get there. Demiru ended up going too far and landing on a rooftop where Burikki and Gorikki and their ship are. After defeating them in battle (where they tried their "fusion" technique where they join together), Demiru and friends took the ship and went into space after Makubi told them about Sharapu. He shrunk the moon after Demiru and friends confronted him.
Chekida (チェキダ)
The sixth and final Super Kid. Loves art, eccentric personality and likes to talk in sentences with parts that 'mirror' themselves (e.g. たたかいはゲージュツ ゲージュツは たたかい). Found in Balsami Dome and seems to want to confuse the heroes with illusions. In order to get to him, Demiru and friends needed to sleep on the Chekida Pillow. Chekida told the heroes that thanks to them, his artwork was completed.
In the battle, his hands will appear as different colours, and the player can change their colour by attacking them. The player is at an advantage if both hands become the same colour.

You do not face him off in combat, but the boss battle plays, and if you do not succeed you have to face a Chocorīna, Ichigochokko (?) and Shirochokko in combat. I am not sure if they have different stats than usual as the guidebook probably doesn't say.
