Been a fan of the Paper Mario series ever since I started playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii... No joke! XD I saw a few ads and commercials about the Paper Mario series. But I didn't start playing them for the story until I played the third game in the series. Ever since then? Many games of 2016 have come and challenge what we consider as story driven games now. UnderTale and recently FNAF's World. I hope that someday I can create my own game based upon the Paper Mario series and pay tribute.
As you can see, I don't buy AlphaDream's reasoning at all.
AlphaDream works for the Nintendo Illuminati confirmed! lol Let's hack their website and post cat videos and Rickrolls on their site.

Thanks for using my video and linking to here! Yeah, I pretty much agree with you. Most of all I wish Paper Luigi would have interacted with real Luigi, could have been interesting with Paper Luigi talking and all. And yeah, poor excuse to leave out OCs especially after Sticker Star (the worst Mario RPG) did it and got flak for it.

True. Plus the internet mixed with Club Nintendo's user base (Rip.) equals hate mail x1000! I even hate a few hate mail. (Nothing life thwarting?) Just some hate mail over a cartoon show from the 80s about cats in space. You know the one I'm talking about? We later on became friends. lol Weird but whatever?

Makes sense. Paper Mario doesn't have any recurring characters aside from the main cast (well, there's the Merlons, but there's no Mario & Luigi equivalent for them. Plus, it would probably be the ugly SPM versions), and the few Mario & Luigi has don't have any good Paper Mario equivalent (which makes me wonder why they bothered with Starlow).
oh reality, it's not for me and it makes me laugh oh, fantasy world and disney girls i'm coming back
Well I pretty much figured out THIS was the reason.. But the whole premise of "Meeting myself as a Paper character" sounds kinda.. lame to me. It's not like they have a lot of differences from each-others. They are just.. The same person.. But on Paper.. Every character just hang out with a clone of himself (Except Luigi ) just really minor differences bettween each relations but that's all.. They could have gone more far than that..
They played too safe for me, even the game like this could have been come more far than that. It's sad to see them playing so safe on a crossover, it's not like it's something than usually happens.. :/
I suspect they didn't start off on a restricted time or budget, but got kind of pressured into it when it became clear that Nintendo was in trouble. There's this feeling that up until Iwata's death, Nintendo was ticking along fine and had a decent 2015 planned out, then his untimely demise kind of threw a spanner into the works and suddenly the company kind of lost direction for about four months. Miyamoto was too busy being a temporary part CEO for the company (he was on that board that preempted Tatsumi Kimishima), games got delayed or development slowed down due to the company's CEO crisis and by the time the new president was announced, the company was looking at a barren holiday season and a complete lack of games ready to release.
So they decided that Star Fox Zero had to be kept til 2016, and to fill its spot in the calendar, a bunch of other half finished projects had to be wrapped up as quickly as possible. Mario Tennis Ultra Smash was sent out the door to fill a gap... and outside of Japan, pretty much felt flat on its face. Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival went out, before they even had any real idea what the 'game' aspect of it was supposed to be like. And then this game went out as well, despite the fact it was likely not all that complete before the release date. They were probably still deciding on a storyline or basic gameplay elements when the call came that the game had to be out in the next few months. So everything that could be recycled from Dream Team, was recycled from Dream Team.
Wario fan, Mario game modder and interested in every Mario RPG you can imagine!
I also run Wario Forums, which is a place to discuss the Wario Land and WarioWare franchises.
That too, though with the rumours of one coming out this year (or at least being announced soon), I'm not sure whether it's the case. Why fill a Paper Mario gap when one's likely gonna be announced soon after this game?

We'll see if the rumor end up true.
Still feel this game should get an update (to fix the rather numerous glitchs) and maybe DLC (to add a bit more diversity in the missions and gameplay)
You know, the story could have still been good without the OCs. Exemple: Bowser M&L gets the Paper book and want to keep Paper Bowser minions for himself. Paper Bowser team up with Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario at one point to save his own minions. Also, Paper Luigi and Paper Peach helps a lot in your adventure. That itself would be more interessing in my opinion.
