We now come to the last of the three GameFAQs fan topics I did, as well as the second serious recut of an existing game- the recently released Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
Of all the Paper Mario-related stuff I did, this 2015 topic's inception to completion rate was the fastest. This could be owed to the fact I mostly knew what I was doing this time, as well as some educated guesses regarding the actual game prior to release. Because of this, other than a few slightly reworked scenes, this topic will mostly be the same as the GameFAQs version.

All loopholes which could allow me to circumvent the intention of this disclaimer (TO GIVE NINTENDO THE RIGHTS TO NEW IDEAS REGARDING MARIO & LUIGI: PAPER JAM SO THEY AREN'T LOCKED OUT OF SELECT PARTS OF THEIR OWN FRANCHISE) are closed.

While an alternate take on Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, you may be able to guess the nature of what got changed, as well as the gist of what stayed the same. If you don't wish to be spoiled, PLAY THROUGH THE ACTUAL MARIO & LUIGI: PAPER JAM GAME BEFORE PROCEEDING.

As many people know, Luigi once fell for hours. And that's kind of weird.
As many people also know, while Nintendo 3DS game Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is an incredibly polished game in many ways, there's one sticking point about it. Namely, the only characters originating from the RPGs are Starlow and (a different) Tower Power Pokey. (Thankfully, not Kersti.) Instead, the game decided to focus on the main series only.
While the game seems to breathe the main series characters as though they were air, I must be that guy and point out this was supposed to be a crossover with Paper Mario. Therefore, I decided to do a rewrite of Paper Jam. This rewrite brings back a few RPG original heroes, villains and others.
To assuage certain concerns, other than missions, this won't be just "Oh, there's a character! Oh, there's a character! Oh, there's a character!" Truth be told, the story of the actual game had little wriggle room. Even if I hadn't placed certain rules on myself, it would be hard to imagine a radically different Paper Jam. (Other than, of course, a different game. But that's another topic).
Keep in mind, this is only my take on a Paper Jam redo. Others have their own equal ideas on what RPG characters to include in a M&L/Paper Mario crossover.
Now, the reason why that disconcerting legal disclaimer is there? Well, it's to prevent accidentally mucking Nintendo over, in ways like these...
