That's the difference for me. It may be fun once, but it is disposable. I will not feel a lasting impression. It most likely will not have an identity that makes it stand the test of time. I probably will not remember it in a decade.
I've heard some people complaining on the Twitch chat(?) how enemies don't even have HP bars, their color just gets sucked away, but that was actually one of the cooler things I saw from the stream. It seems like it basically is an HP bar just in a totally different style. But otherwise I can't say I'm liking the looks of the gameplay. Said above is just an aesthetic, too. I'd really appreciate it if they just brought back TTYD gameplay. They say SS was going to be the new standard of Paper Mario, gameplay wise at least, but it's pretty clear nobody likes that so why bother?
The lack of original character is still a gaping wound left with no treatment, but the locations seem a bit more diverse than in Sticker Star. Not to mention, graphics are great and humor has returned. They're improving from SS, but not by much.
I let ya know once I see the trailer later today. For now it seems decent but taking it down not a very smart choice.
Ya say that a flop will be good I say the other way around. If this doesn't work then PM will probably be done. Mayto seem to think that Tab-what his name is the best at directing a none story game. From what I gathered anyway.
I would rather it die if this is what we get instead. I can respect a finished series. Like if a character dies in a story I can respect that, but do not keep a character around and make a fool of them forever.
This does look like an improvement, so at least that is good, like Xan said. I remember when SPM looked so different from Thousand-Year Door and people complained, but we got a great game. Granted, we have more reason to complain now since we saw how low they can go previously.
Graphics look pretty plain, but the color effects were cool. I wish all the enemies were not generic, though. I am looking forward to finding out the new locations.

I am currently editing a video with my thoughts, but they don't really differ much from the general consensus: It looks incredibly disappointing. Meantime have this little thing I threw together last night:

I would like CS. Its not the game I was hoping for, but there are things where I am excited about. There seems to be a lot of different locations, with his own identity. They also improved the battle system, it makes more sense now to battle. There is more dialogue amd story potential too. The lack of oc's is something what annoys me. They use also more different toads ( at least more than Ss and PJ).
Well let see; Lovely Graphics, Music is catchy as always, an interesting level up system, story seem to be a bit more involve this time, Much better douluge, and the cards and the Characters still a bit iffy. Too bad Tabeta spoiled that it is indeed Bowser...well thanks for not bothering given me any chance of some other villain (Even though the Koopalings kinda give it away anyway) and here I thought it might get Wart or General Guy. Though I do ask, why are they hiding him? We've had one new Character but we'll see how that will go.
Well so far it appears to have a bit more involvement then SS did so little steps I suppose.
Just so you guys know? That I found the original unedited video online of the GX interview.
Been a fan of the Paper Mario series ever since I started playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii... No joke! XD I saw a few ads and commercials about the Paper Mario series. But I didn't start playing them for the story until I played the third game in the series. Ever since then? Many games of 2016 have come and challenge what we consider as story driven games now. UnderTale and recently FNAF's World. I hope that someday I can create my own game based upon the Paper Mario series and pay tribute.
I wonder what type of bosses we will get this time around. I hope they are challenging. This game will not be as cryptic as Sticker Star I have a feeling so maybe that will not frustrate the players.
I think that's my main problem with the Koopalings, sure some fans might like them coming back but they are taking a large amount of slots which could be used by other characters.
But now it seem more and more fans are getting annoyed at their constant appearances, some even accusing Nintendo to be lazy because it allow them to not put effort into more creative bosses.
Yeah, Bowser Jr can be a fun character when wrote correctly.
Well as long as the Kooplings have abilities and tactic that make them unique then I'll be fine. Well hopefully the level design makes up for them. Now Bowsers Jr is part of the SMB main cast so I suspect he'll be in there somewhere. At least he not every single boss anymore, that got tiresome.

Mario Party getting owned. The series really went to the dogs after 7. Paper Mario and Mario Party were two of my favorite series too.
We gotta hope that something changes.
Maybe Nintendo just likes LOTSA SPAGHETTI!
LOL!
