I'm hoping to start a conversation of Mario and Luigi Paper Jam. The events of Mario and Luigi Paper Jam should've never happened therefore, making Paper Mario canon. I felt like Nintendo ran out of ideas and used the purpose of the M&L and PM universe to combine to just make another M&L game. I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way.
The way Paper Mario could be canon is the back of TTYD box where it says "Mario returns to paper form." which could possibly mean that the M&L universe turns into paper in several moments. The beginning of M&LPM is wack, how come a book that haves a universe of existing matter is just lying around in the depths of the castle's basement while it should probably be protected by Rosalina. What contains in the book is powerful stars that grant any wishes. A ancient demon that caused severe destruction, and a dark entity used to erase all existence.
Welp, I don't think my dreams can come true in this situation. Thanks for reading anyways.

Well original PM implied it was just the Mario world with some paper gimmicks (there was even references to Mario party and other spin-off) but Sticker Star kinda retconed the whole thing to make it separate.
Imo i consider 3 possibilities about PM:
1) Paper Mario books are a retelling of actual adventures Mario had (kinda like how SMG2 is Rosalina telling an adventure of Mario)
2) Paper Mario is just an alternate dimension and the book a portal to it (meaning that The Void would have destroyed the M&L world in SPM)
3) Paper Mario got retconed and the events of the first 3 PMs are no longer canon or are changed to match the current "Sticker Star book" world.

Well it might have the crossover function in which it may not have true canon but who know really. I'm not sure as it's treated to be side thought then a true game of the M&L series.
I always thought as a style and very really consider them as different before this. Now of course this is the same series that stated to have no Canon Time line in any shape.

True, it could also be that the "Paper Mario world" of Paper Jam is basically a part of the M&L universe and is separate from the actual Paper Mario universe.
