Some guy made an assumption that Fawful was immortal so that he can just return into another game. His logic is that, the Dark star has been tortured for many years, making Fawful immortal with the dark power. First of all the Dark Star was sealed and weakened, and if that were the case then Dark Bowser would've been immortal. This, not even theory makes sense.
But honestly, Fawful literally commited suicide to kill the Mario Bros. For how much I even want Cackletta to return, Mario and Luigi just straight up erased her.
Imo, he had a good run and i feel that bringing back again would ruin his character.
At best maybe AlphaDream could reveal a bunch of characters who belong to the same sub-species as him (five fingers, big toothy smiles and weird mannerisms) like Popple or Beanbean queen.
I feel that Antasma should be the new "arc villain" now, specially considering how he got cheated out of the final boss slot and didn't get much developpement in Dream Team.
Fawful had the best run of any villain or original character, for that matter. Bringing him back would be an insult.
When he exploded, he was basically dying. He no longer had his body and was injured. '
I do believe we need a new arc villain, like Tas. Mario and Luigi seems like an arc villains series compared to Paper Mario which has new villains each time.

I feel like Dimentio had the same time and run as Fawful, even if he wasn't in three games, it doesn't matter. We saw him mastermind the whole entire events of SPM, and treat it as if it were a show. Dimentio also haves true sadism for a psychopath for as he just laughs in ALL CAPS. Dimentio even had a more power to stop the mulitverse, and treats it as a horror show. That's amazing character development for only being in ONE GAME. If that isn't enough, then Dimentio haves so many secrets as if he were a creator of something and either survived miracoulously in his past.

I mean, coming back from the dead is pretty easy in this universe, and appearances in sports games and spinoffs have no real concern for any 'canon' anyway (just ask Dry Bowser and Metal Mario!)
So him appearing in say, Mario Kart or Mario Party wouldn't really need an explanation, and him appearing in an RPG could just come down to 'he got chucked in a magic potion/had a 1-Up Mushroom/came back from the Underwhere/had a retry clock/had a pick me up/was cloned/used time travel' and be done with it.
Basically, if they want to bring him back, they'll find a way to. If they don't want to bring him back, they won't.
Wario fan, Mario game modder and interested in every Mario RPG you can imagine!
I also run Wario Forums, which is a place to discuss the Wario Land and WarioWare franchises.

Bowser came back for the fact that Nintendo showed how Bowser was not only a villain, but a wild survivor After Mario's defeat Bowser always seems to be miracoulously alive and always rebuilds his military, this might be why so many of his troops look up to him and feel pride to be on his side, even if he is rough, strict, or stubborn. Bowser's character is strong in physical ways and mental ways. He even released more potiental in M&L series, which makes him amazing to be an antihero in three games.

Fawful really shouldn't return, if he had a choice to then I think it would be no for the fact that he's done with terrorizing, he had a depressing lifetime. Why continue it, even if he were to come back to life he would be caught immediately.

Err, idk if we can really call it an arc (specially that AD shelved OCs in favor of interactions for PJ, so we don't know how it would have gone if the game kept OCs)
If anything PJ seem to finish what SSS started, Bowser slowly turning into a competent villain (started as a buttmonkey in SSS, was a minor nuisance in PiT, a somewhat competent villain protagonist in BiS, became an unexpected final boss in DT then finally a full time big bad in PJ)
Yeah, Fawful went from follower, to business owner, to main villain. He followed an add path. He was the highest on the minion pecking order, but I would definitely call him a minion, just like Midbus.
I want a new arc soon. I see Bowser as an overall villain in the series and not an arc villain.
