As many people know, Larry Koopa is the emperor of eavesdropping.

As many people also know, something is very wrong with the Paper Mario RPG series in the Wii U/3DS era of Nintendo of Japan’s long history. To spell it out more explicitly, the creative heads helming the Paper Mario RPG series from 2010-2016 have not gotten the memo regarding the flaws of “the new standard”. Or if they have, they simply do not care to improve their work in all areas.
So here we are again, four years after Sticker Star. Once again, I’m making a fangame topic exerting the kind of effort Nintendo of Japan should have been encouraging during that time. For every one of these topics I’ve made, I’ve been heating up my tactics every time the current creative heads of the Paper Mario RPG series demonstrated they didn’t learn a thing. Now, I ramping things up to the highest heat I possibly can: fake screenshots of a game that doesn't exist. In addition, I'll be including model sheets of all the old and new characters.

As a reminder to the litigiously nervous, here’s some links explaining just why that transfer waiver at the top is even there. I hope neither side is subject to these various situations.

++The player can control Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser as primary characters.

New Features
Battle System
+The battle system, while still turn based, takes place on a grid court.
++The grid’s size is 8 horizontally, 3 vertically.
++Different attacks have different reaches. In addition, many attacks have “Sweet Spots” (where the attack will be strongest).
++Rather than only being able to attack a limited number of times per turn, actions taken are dictated by AP (Action Points).
++Using AP, characters can attack, heal, or even move. Regarding movement, a single character can only move two times a turn, even if there’s more AP available. Other abilities may also have additional costs.
++The main character can have two partners fight/journey alongside them, rather than just the usual one. In addition, the Tattling partner is not mandatory to keep out.
+What is mandatory to keep out, though, is at least one Mushroom Kingdom character (Mario, Luigi, Peach and/or Bowser). It is possible to have 2 or even 3 such characters out.
++If all Mushroom Kingdom players fall in battle, the other party members cannot be switched out. If they live through the battle, all MK characters are revived...at 1/4 their health. If all MK characters and surviving partners perish, well...game over.
+Enemies & bosses can both move once and use an attack/ability once per turn. Sometimes, though, they'll forgo moving.
++Enemies usually move 1-3 spaces, while bosses move 2-4. The bigger the opponent, the slower they move.

Stats/Leveling Up
+Power-up choices alternate between levels, in a similar vein to Super Paper Mario.
-Even numbers offer survival stats.
--HP (Heart Points): Starts at 20, increases by 10 every time picked. Naturally maxes out at 220. With all 16 HP-Up Hearts, the max could potentially be 300.
--GP (Gear Points): Starts at 20, increases by 10 every time picked. Naturally maxes out at 220. With all 16 GP-Up Sockets, the max could potentially be 300.
--AP (Action Points): Starts at 6, increases by 2 every time picked. Naturally maxes out at 48. With all 16 AP-Up Bands, the max could potentially be 64.
-Odd numbers offer offensive power-ups.
--Jump/Fire: Starts at 2, increases by 2 every time picked. Naturally maxes out at 44. With all 16 Jump-Up Boots, the max could potentially be 60.
--Weapon/Water: Starts at 2, increases by 2 every time picked. Naturally maxes out at 44. With all 16 Weapon-Up Gloves, the max could potentially be 60.
--Item/Electric: Starts at 2, increases by 2 every time picked. Naturally maxes out at 44. With all 16 Item-Up Rings, the max could potentially be 60.
-The only other change from the first leveling system is that the same stat cannot be picked twice in a row. This is to help players avoid getting stuck.
-Each character has different stats, with Mario’s being used for reference.

Overworld Gameplay
+Partners and their abilities return, after being absent from the Nintendo version of Sticker Star.
+In addition to their intended use, there’s more lateral thinking emphasized with the partner abilities. Sometimes, they need to be combined with the next ability to solve puzzles...
+Meanwhile, Mario receives a unique, yet familiar, ability near the beginning- Perspective Flip. This ability flips certain rooms around using magical power- and not just sideways, either (which Mario starts with).
+In exchange, while all Flips can be used in each compatible rooms, only a (high) fraction of rooms are Flip compatible. The division is equal to the number of ways Mario can Flip...
+With items, Mario has a cap of 15 slots for items. Each slot can contain 3 copies of the same item, spilling into the next slot if there's more than 3.
++If Mario uses an item in a higher-placed slot, and there's two different slots containing the exact same item, the upper slots will auto-refill using the lower ones. Because of this feature, doing so with 4 copies of an item could free a slot.
++EX Mario has 3 Mushrooms in the top slot and 1 Mushroom in the 14th. Though Mario can use the lower Mushroom if he wishes, by using a Mushroom in the 1st, the game will send the one in the 14th slot atop, freeing space.

Other
+There are 3 difficulty levels, with varying details.
++SHORT READ: Enemy/boss HP x0.8; Enemy ATK x0.9; Enemy Level x1.5; some cutscenes shortened or skipped over; bonus dungeons permanently locked; game ends earlier than it should
++NOVEL: The normal experience.
++EPIC READ: Enemy/boss HP x1.3; Enemy ATK x1.2; less Save Blocks; more leniency in unlocking a certain something.

STORY AND CHARACTERS
Story
+The story is just as detailed as the first three Paper Mario games, as well as Paper Mario Sticker Star Recut.
+As all versions of Sticker Star echo the original Paper Mario, and the first topic I did, Paper Mario Relic Hunter, took after The Thousand Year Door, Wonder Journey is inspired by Super Paper Mario's ideals.
+Cutscenes can be skipped with the + Button, even the first time seeing them.

Characters
+As expected, Bowser talks again.
+Both Kammy and Kamek appear.

Setting
+Wonder Journey takes place in the Round Dimension, Mercadia. Though similar in some ways to the Mushroom World, and though some species are shared, there are significant differences.
+For one, some species have alternate counterparts, in ways beyond just being made of something.
++Rather than the mushroom like Goombas, there's the acorn-like Gobcaps. In addition, though there are some turtle creatures, Koopa Troopas in and in themselves are not a thing in Mercadia. Instead, the lion-like Lyrars take their spot.
+Toads as a species are heavily downplayed this time around. How so? For the main story, there are only two Toads, period. Both of them are unique in heart and look.

PARALYZED: The range of affected combatant’s abilities are cut in half. 2-3 turns
POISON: Affected combatant loses an increasing amount of their max HP every turn they’re affected. Starts at x0.05 HP loss, then increases by 0.05 every consecutive turn the condition isn’t removed.
SLEEP: Affected combatant is asleep, preventing their use. The next attack that hits them deals x1.3 the damage. Being attacked ends condition prematurely.

+This time, for data reasons, there are only 3 save files. So...why don't we stop beating around the bush and get this shindig on the road!

BGM- Tale of the Wonderous World (flute, violin, kind of a slow song, gets more optimistic towards the end, ends on a violin holding a note)

INTRO STORY
“Oh good! It’s you again! I was wondering when we’d meet again, old friends.
I must apologize for not coming to see you, but…I was delayed. I’ve just visited a wondrous alternate world- similar to this one, but different in the most fantastical of ways. It’s not just another Mushroom Kingdom, either- that story is for another time.
No- this is a story of the round kingdom. A story about the road to take, and the allies you make. It’s a story about a fallen king and his lost treasure. Most paramount, it’s a story about four people who visited some time ago, and how the journey they embarked on changed everything.
Gather around, as I tell you the story of the Kingdom of Mercadia…and the Wonder Journey.”

PROLOGUE
MUSHROOM KINGDOM
+The story begins, as many Mario RPGs do, near Peach’s Castle. Specifically, Mario, Luigi and Peach are relaxing on the veranda.

MARIO ( i.imgur.com/2CIx2C4.png ): Oh, yeah!
LUIGI: Just the three of us, relaxing on this veranda with the Princess, drinking lemonade.
PEACH ( i.imgur.com/I4Y6TjI.png ): Oh! You just reminded me, Luigi- the pitcher’s empty!
LUIGI: Aw, that’s fine. One of the Toads here could get us another pitcher.
PEACH: Actually, I gave them most of them the day off. We haven’t heard from Bowser ever since…you know…and I thought they deserved a little time outside the castle.
LUIGI: Ah- that’s right. I’m just so comfy right now, that somehow slipped my mind. Wait…what do you mean, “most”?
PEACH: One of the Toads declined the vacation. She said she needed to work some more on her cooking at the castle. She also felt leaving us completely alone wasn’t smart. She’s very loyal that way. Now that I think about it, she should have brought up the lemonade by now. Mario?
MARIO: Hm.
PEACH: Could you go down to the kitchen and check on Sauf T? Something might have happened.
MARIO: Mmm…OK.

PEACH'S CASTLE ? BLOCK CONTENTS

GAMEPLAY: The Castle is a partial recreation of the one from Paper Mario 64. The lower hub room, upper hub room, kitchen, Peach's room, Peach's veranda, and the room leading to the original's long hallway are explorable. All other doors are locked.

+As Mario jumps around the castle, he notices some weird acorn creature statues. Though curious at first, as he recalls they weren't there originally, he shrugs and goes on his way. Unfortunately, Mario fails to see an armored serpent peeking through a rabbit hole.

+When Mario enters the kitchen…
SAUF T ( i.imgur.com/x2a7qpt.png ): Ouuuch. OW. Can someone help me up? …MARIO!? Thank goodness you’ve come! I slipped on some ice cubes while I was making you three snacks. Could you give me a hand?
Mario pulls Sauf T up.
SAUF T.: Thanks, Mario! I think I know why you’re down here. The lemonade’s coming, so just head up while I OWWW!
Sauf T bends in half.
SAUF: My BACK! My beautiful back! This is horrible! If I stay like this, I won’t get a recommendation to cook with the master chef in the region of P- Mario, could I ask you another favor? Could you straighten my back out somehow...?
GAMEPLAY: Mario must look around the kitchen. Two hammers peek out of a cabinet.
MARIO GOT THE M AND L HAMMERS! SAVE THE GREEN ONE FOR YOUR BRO, BRO!

+Mario uses the M Hammer to bend Sauf T. back into shape.
SAUF T: YEOW! That hurt even more than the ice cubes! No, wait… I’m back to normal! This is why you’re the Princess’ closest around here. I wish me and Toadsworth could live up to your example-
BOWSER (voice): Oh, Pe-EACH! Guess who’s dropped by for a visit to your castle?
SAUF T: O-o-o-oo-h no! It’s-
BOWSER (voice): That’s right- Bowser’s in the house! And I couldn’t have picked a better day to drop in- just call it a Koopa’s luck! No Toads to oppose me at the gates, and only Luigi on the veranda.
KAMEK (voice): My dear Princess, you must understand the advantage we hold at this moment. Things truly aren’t in your favor. Now for our demands- our mutual friend, Luigi, must not fight us. You must respect Master Bowser while in the Koopa Clown Car. Finally, you must-
KAMMY (voice): Oh, come off it, old geezer! I say we just gag the princess and fly for it!
KAMEK (voice): Really? Because I say we take our time to get on the Princess’ good side-
KAMMY (voice): “Get on their good side?” Like you do with all the minions in the Koopa Troop? I’m not fooled by the show you put on for the Troops, old man.
BOWSER (voice): Oh, not THIS again.
KAMEK (voice): …what’s that supposed to mean, you little-!? I mean, whatever do you mean, Kammy?
BOWSER (voice): Koopa Squad, Goomba Squad, just…just head in there. This kidnapping became a lot less fun.

Kammy and Kamek are shocked.

BOWSER: Zip it! See, THIS is why I only take one of you “geniuses” at a time- when I bring you both, you always argue! Wait- why do I bring either of you, anyways?
Bowser looks at Kammy.
BOWSER: YOUR machines and connections fail when I really need them!
Bowser looks at Kamek.
BOWSER: YOU can’t keep my minions safe from intruders!
Bowser flies away from both Magikoopas, looking away.
BOWSER: And don’t even get me started on your performance 6 months ago at Sticker Fest, Kam-!
LUIGI: Uh, Bowser? You’re still kind of fighting us, remember?
BOWSER: Fighting you? Yeah, right! If these two behind me are clowns, then you’re a one-man circus act! You act brave, but you shake at the sight of your gloves!
LUIGI: I just beat all those Hammer Bros. and Koopatrols singlehanded!
PEACH: Mm-hmm.
LUIGI: OK- I had a little encouragement from the princess.
Mario speaks.
BOWSER: So what if you just beat some Goombas, Koopas, and weird acorn guys? They were just to soften you up while- while…. Uh, what was that third one?
Bowser looks back at the Magikoopas.
KAMEK: My King, I assure you there were only Goombas and Koopas in the castle. Either Mario has suffered temporary insanity, or my coworker Kammy’s been hiring outside your Troop.
KAMMY: Don’t look at me, you old coot! I would never do anything without Bowser’s say so!

?: Hyesssss-hesshesshesshess!
From out of the shadows, a large Cobrat wearing jar-themed knight armor emblazed with a lion symbol emerges.
BOWSER: Uh, who’s that?
KAMEK: I haven’t the faintest idea, my liege.
PEACH: Oh my! What garden did you slither from?

Mario leaps in front of Sir Mordrat.
SIR MORDRAT: Oh, the othersssssssss would find this funny! You actually want to challenge a Mercadian Knight in battle?! Hyessssssss-hesshesshess! Very well- I’ll end your sssssssservice in this world, and sssssssssspeed you to your abyss!

Sir Mordrat slinks off.
MARIO: Whew.
Mario turns around to look at the princess.
LUIGI: Princess, you alright?!
PEACH: I’m fine, Luigi. He was oddly delicate though. All he did was…OH NO!
The camera pans up, revealing Peach isn’t wearing her crown anymore.
PEACH: That thieving- HE STOLE MY CROWN! HEY, GET BACK HERE!
Peach runs after Sir Mordrat.
Worried, Mario follows suit.
LUIGI: Wait up, Princess, Bro!
Luigi gives chase.
BOWSER: Where do you three think you’re going!? He-LLLO- I’m still kidnapping you! Kammy, Kamek- prove you’re still useful and head them off!
Bowser flies after the trio in the Koopa Clown Car.

The Bros see Sir Mordrat dig back into the rabbit hole in the corner, with Peach angrily running after him.
SIR MORDRAT: Sssssss. It’ssssssss like the wizard always says- It’sssss harder finding the way back than the way forward. But with a little looking around, there’ssssss the hole!
Sir Mordrat slithers in.
PEACH: OH, NO YOU DON’T!
Peach grabs onto Sir Mordrat’s tail, as its owner burrows into the ground.
Sauf T enters the scene.
SAUF T: Is everything all right, your Majesty PRINCESS!
Sauf T jumps on with Peach.
LUIGI: Hold on, Princess! Lightning Luigi is coming to your rescue!
PEACH: When have you ever been called Lightning LuIIIIIGIIIIII!
Peach and Mordrat’s tail finish digging.
LUIGI: Oh, funny story. After we got back from the other dimension, the idea just popped into my head. I have no idea why JEEZ, I’M BAD AT THIS!
MARIO: Oh, no…
Mario and Luigi dive into the hole.
Bowser enters the scene.
BOWSER: Not this again! Also, where’s my two supposedly best minions?! Forget it- you want something done, you do it yourself!
Bowser dives upwards. As he falls though…
BOWSER: Tsssk. Hole’s smaller than I am. This hasn’t been a good da-
Bowser’s stuck in the hole.
Kammy and Kamek finally arrive.
KAMMY: See? I knew we shouldn’t have gone through the left wing.
KAMEK: You’re continuing to grow on my nerves. Let me remind you you only wanted to go through the right wing to take a look at the floor plan-
BOWSER: Will it never end!? Get me out of here, you idiots, and stop chatting!

Mario and Luigi fall through an ever-increasing tunnel.
As they reach the end of the tunnel, they finally see Peach and Mordrat.
LUIGI: Hang on, Princess! Mario, give me a boost, will you bro?
MARIO: Hmmm… OK.
Mario grabs Luigi, then throws him.
Luigi grabs the Princess. As Mario follows in turn, the group exits the tunnel. Before their eyes is a continent-sized kingdom, encased in a dome.
SIR MORDRAT: Thisssssssss free ride has gone on for long enough! Off you go, and enjoy what’ssssss left of our kingdom!
Sir Mordrat whips his tail. This flings Mario and Sauf T to the centre of the kingdom, Luigi to the bottom right, and Peach to the top right.
LUIGI: Big Bro! Princess!
PEACH: MariOOOOO!
MARIO: Ao-wahahahaow!
Mario continues falling towards the centre of the kingdom. Finally, the title of the game appears:

After recovering from his pain, Mario realizes his surroundings. He then starts heading towards the door.

: Hey wait! Where’re you going? This is the thanks I get for preventing your service from ending?
Mario doubles back.

: Who am I? I’m Jaykan, and don’t you forget it! I have a lot of friends! My neighbors adore me! And my grandpa…he’s not always around, but he gives me lots of freedom.

Mario speaks.

Things are probably different where you come from if you’re this relaxed. Trust me- Mercadia is different from your place. You’re going to need someone super smart, super trustworthy, and super CUTE to get you around. So I’ll go with you! It’ll be the best decision you ever made!
MARIO: Hmmm…OK!
JAYKAN: GREAT!

JAYKAN: Mordrat! You’re a jerk, too! Give this guy his girlfriend’s crown back! And while you’re at it, stop being such a creep!
SIR MORDRAT: You have no idea what’ssssssssssss at stake if I don’t present this crown to the throne!
JAYKAN: I bet you don’t either, snakeface!
SIR MORDRAT: …Growlhad. Other knights. End their service.
LYRAR KNIGHT 3/GROWLHAD: B-b-but Sir Mordrat, he’s but a peasant! And Jaykan- you must know she’s-

+After the battle, Sir Mordrat just cackles it off, digging under the ground, and into the castle. Mario and Jaykan try to follow suit, but a magic forcefield activates immediately near two empty podiums. Mario tries taking the forcefield down with his hammer, but it’s no use.
After Mario continually bashes the forcefield with his hammer…
JAYKAN: You’re not giving up, are you? I like that! Now that I think about it- I think there might be a way to take the forcefield down.
Mario turns around to listen.
JAYKAN: I don’t know for sure, but there was something my grandpa said before he left for… Come on. Let’s head back to my place.

Mario looks around at the townspeople. None of them make a move, despite them outnumbering the Gobcaps immensely.
SAUF T: Why isn’t anyone doing anything to help me!?

Lyle walks away.
PERCY: …never mind, then. Besides, I can't afford to heal myself if I get hurt!
JAYKAN: Oh yeah- did I forget to mention everyone in this town is super selfish?
Mario dashes in. He bashes a Gobcap with his hammer.
GOBCAP: Ow! Me really like own face! You get hurt now by sharp helmet!
GOBCAP: Helmets are sharp sharp! After we beat you, we eat strange mushroom girl! Strange mushrooms BAD!
+A fight commences with the two Gobcaps.

+Following the fight…
GOBCAP: Why red man and annoying bird girl like strange mushroom?
GOBCAP: We not strong enough to fight red man. We go bye-bye for now!
The two Gobcaps explode.
PERCY: That was pointlessly dark. Oh well. It’s back to the shop for me.
Percy walks to the east exit.
DUCHESS PAUN: Phooey! Just when things around here became entertaining!
Duchess Paun walks to the west exit. Soon, everyone leaves.
SAUF T: Oh, Mario! You saved me for the third time! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pay you back!
MARIO: Oh, yeah.
JAYKAN: I helped, too! Did you see how I pecked that one Gobcap’s face?
SAUF T: I was kind of too shoved around to notice, little Jibberjay girl. And you’re kind of snooty.
Jaykan takes offense to this last remark.
JAYKAN: Praise the beak, lady!
Jaykan starts pecking Sauf T. Eventually, Mario tears Jaykan off. He looks mad.
JAYKAN: What!? I shouldn’t be pecking some lady who doesn’t thank me? You want some of this, too!?
Jaykan pecks Mario, too.
JAYKAN: Yeah, take that! You want my help, you know where my house is!
Jaykan flies off.
SAUF T: What is that girl’s problem? We didn’t even do anything wrong! Right, Mario?
MARIO: Hmmm…
SAUF T: Wait…you’re following her?! Really?!
Mario explains the situation.
SAUF T: That snake guy took the crown inside the castle. And you can’t get past the forcefield. But that little girl says she has an answer.
Mario nods his head. He then sighs.
SAUF T: I guess you’re right. We don’t know anyone else around here. As much as I hate to say it, she’s our only lead. OK…lead the way, Mario.

+GAMEPLAY: If Mario tries to go south of the main screen, some Lyrar Knights block him off. One of them explains some Gobcaps came into town and caused a real mess in the south section. It’s dangerous, even for them, to traverse the wreckage.

+GAMEPLAY: If Mario tries travelling west of the Castle, he comes across a blocked normal gate. It won’t be open until 3/8 of the way through the game.

+When the group arrives at Jaykan’s place, they search around for a book. Eventually, Mario finds it stashed among Jaykan’s grandpa’s keepsakes.

THE JOURNAL: This kingdom…my home of Mercadia. Ever since the first King, Arrar, formed the Knights over 1200 years ago, they have tried to defend all reaches of our homes against dark forces. At first, only the once-friendly Gobcaps posed a problem, and they were thought to be easily dealt with. However, over the years, despite their best efforts, the essence of the Round Dimension has…diminished. Cracks have formed, not just in the kingdom, but between the people. And our current King…Argulus…he has become more distant from his subjects. Even knowing his history, he should be guiding this kingdom to prosperity, not let it waste to ruin. I doubt the other rulers will give the Royal Family the Mercadian Treasures back at this point.

MARIO: Hmm.
JAYKAN: The Mercadian Treasures! That’s what I was meaning to look up! They’re what originally brought life and hope to the kingdom during a great crisis. King Argulus actually asked my grandpa to help search for the treasures!
SAUF T: What if…what if Mario got the treasures instead? If he brought them to this King Argulus, would he give Peach’s crown back?
JAYKAN: I don’t know. But we might not have to give the treasures to them to sway them. Mario, do you remember those podiums we saw near the entrance to the castle?
MARIO: Mmm-hmm.
JAYKAN: Well, this journal says that’s where the Mercadian Treasures are supposed to go. When a treasure is placed on top the right podium, it bridges the area it was kept in with the main city. It also activates magical pads bringing us to where other treasures are. So basically, we restore a link, we could get your girlfriend’s crown back! But it might be a tough walk where we’re going, so unless you two have a better way around that forcefield-
SAUF T: Kid, Mario’s been on several adventures back at home! He beat his arch enemy hundreds of times! He rescued the Princess five times that! Saved the multiverse from a marriage between both of them! Rescued the Star Spirits! He even defeated an ancient demon! He could do whatever you ask 7 times and still have time for pasta!
JAYKAN: W-w-wow. I honestly had no idea. If you’re that good, then forget just one Mercadian Treasure- let’s find ALL OF THEM! You and me will save this dimension together! It’ll be a wonder of a journey!
Mario chimes in.
JAYKAN: Oh, and find your friends too.
Mario chimes in again.
JAYKAN: Where do we start? Huh…let me think. With my smart brain and my fluffy wings…there’s one place we can walk to on foot right now. My grandpa’s there right now, actually. It’s a place called…Dreamy Paradise.

SIR MORDRAT: I barely got out of that ssssssssssscuffle with my tail. It jusssssssssssst proves I’m the only one who can be trussssssssssted with the throne’s sssssssecurity.

?: Enter, my trusted knight.
Sir Mordrat enters the door. On the other side of the room is King Argulus, slouching in his throne.
KING ARGULUS ( i.imgur.com/fm0EVj4.png ): Well, my trusted servant? Did you succeed in the task I appointed you?
SIR MORDRAT: There were a few sssssssssetbacks, Your Majesty. But I managed to retrieve what you ssssssssssssought.
Sir Mordrat gets out Peach’s crown. King Argulus picks it up.
KING ARGULUS: Interesting. The curvature used on this crown- it’s unlike anything Mercadia’s smithies could accomplish. And such warmth, despite its age! You have succeeded in your king’s mission, Sir Mordrat.
SIR MORDRAT: Sssssssssso why don’t you seem too happy, My King?
KING ARGULUS: I’ve just been pondering the question I’ve pondered for nearly the last 2 decades. What action should a king take when he feels he can’t do the right thing? I’ve exhausted every other possibility before this one, Sir Mordrat. I wish things didn’t have to come to this, but 18 years later, and I have no choice- we must-
Immediately, an alarm goes off.
KING ARGULUS: Rrrgh…why did we make that alarm so loud?
VOICE: Your majesty, I’ve detected someone headed into Dreamy Paradise!
KING ARGULUS: What!? But only the knights were to have access to that passage! We’ll have a word with Percy after our plan. Show us this duo in the crystal ball!
VOICE: As you wish, your majesty.
A crystal ball descends from below. In the crystal ball, Mario and Jaykan travel down a dark passage.
KING ARGULUS: Hmm? Is that…Jaykan? And who is that with her?
SIR MORDRAT: NO! He’sssssss getting in our way at every ssssssssssstep!?
KING ARGULUS: You’re familiar with this man?
SIR MORDRAT: He and a few othersssssssssssss…they may have followed me through the rabbit hole into thisssssss dimension.
A moment of silence.
SIR MORDRAT: King Argulus…?
KING ARGULUS: Sir Mordrat, you’re a very lucky Cobrat. If I hadn’t already sent another knight there already, I’d have you dismissed from the Knights for your severe lapse in judgement! What were you thinking, using HIS rabbit holes!? And why didn’t you bring him here!?
SIR MORDRAT: But Argulussssssss, there wasssssss no other way! And he ssssslipped away after sending me through the hole-
KING ARGULUS: Enough! My Mercadian Knights will deal with Jaykan. Hopefully, they can dissuade her from pursuing this before she gets hurt.
SIR MORDRAT: What about the man in red?
KING ARGULUS: He’s just that, Sir Mordrat- a man in red. That’s all there is to him. If you truly feel he will pose a threat to our plan, then go to Dreamy Paradise to assist your fellow Knight. I have spoken!
SIR MORDRAT: …very well.
Sir Mordrat slinks out of the room. Once outside the door…
SIR MORDRAT: Yesssss… I’ll rally up the Cobrat company. Then we’ll head to Dreamy Paradise in a hurry. I know all the underground shortcutssssssss in Mercadia. I can beat Jaykan and that red man there. I will end their ssssssservices, for the ssssake of the throne.

INTERLUDE- LUIGI

LUIGI: Ugggghh…how long did I fall for? And where am I…?
+Luigi finds himself in a very dimly lit room.
LUIGI: Uh, hello? Mario? Peach?! SAUF T!?! …Bowser?
Silence.

GAMEPLAY: Use Luigi’s Super Jump to activate all 3 ceiling switches. This will turn on the lights.

+Luigi combs the entire room for an exit, but finds nothing. He does see a machine being constructed in the background, though- a giant electric fan ( i.imgur.com/gO1OARW.png ).
LUIGI: What…what is that thing? It looks a lot like a giant- I gotta be strong! I’m Lightning Luigi! I can do anything! I can kick Goombas and Koopas to the curb! I’m- I’m all alone in this place!
Suddenly, a door opens, and the lights go out.
LUIGI: Who-who’s there?!

?: Look, boy! Someone isn’t in their outfit! Go on- fetch!
Luigi is heard hit by something.
LUIGI: Ow! Did you just throw a…a bo OOOOOOOOOH! LET GO! WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME!? MARIO- YHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!
The scene ends.

JAYKAN: I’m completely stumped on this. Your Hammer’s useless, you can’t jump high enough, the room’s kind of weird how it’s structured, and I think one of those Knights decked me in the face. Lots of joy all around. Maybe we missed something back in the woods…?
+On their way back…
As Mario and Jaykan walk, the ground shakes underneath them.
Suddenly, Sir Mordrat emerges from the ground, knocking our heroes down.
JAYKAN: Sir Mordrat! You were always into getting in cheap shots!
SIR MORDRAT: Lesssssson one of fighting, little bird- if you ssssssssee an advantage in a fight, take it. Now, I’m going to sssssskewer you and your…your…what the…?
Puzzled, Mario and Jaykan look behind them. To their utter shock, they see a face with no body.
SIR MORDRAT: Sssss-sss-sssstay back! You opposssssssssssse one of King Argulus’ main Mercadian Knightssssssssssss. You can’t take me alone-
11 other bodiless faces appear. They throw KO’d Cobrats at Sir Mordrat.
SIR MORDRAT: The Cobratsssssssssssss I stationed here! What did you do to- I ssssssswear, King Argulus will learn about thissssssssssssssss!
Sir Mordrat sssssssssssslithers (darn it, now I’m doing it!) off.
JAYKAN: I…didn’t think Sir Mordrat was such a red Jibberjay.
MARIO: Oh, yeah!

?: Perhaps you’ve seen everything there is to that armored fellow. But maybe you haven’t seen enough.
The smiling face disappears. It then reappears with a green cat body wearing a hat.
JAYKAN: Wait a moment…gramps talked about you a few times! You’re the wisest Catknave in Mercadia- Catguru!
CATGURU ( i.imgur.com/tD6alLU.png ): You are correct, my little Jibberjay- which is to say, you’re not wrong. I’m a Catknave, living alongside these other faces. It’s possible, however, I’m not here at all.
MARIO: Hmmm…?
JAYKAN: I never thought you’d be…weird.
CATGURU: What harm is there in the abnormal? Or where’s the good in not acting collected? I know, young Jaykan, about you and your friend. You’re already backtracking, and so quickly after coming to this Dreamy Paradise. Or maybe you’re heading the right way, escaping a nightmarish prison. If I may suggest something- you shouldn’t be looking at the problem straight on, but from another… angle.
Catguru emits an aura onto Mario!
Mario received Perspective Flip, allowing him to change the angle of the area he’s in! For now, Mario can change the perspective in a simple way- Sideways. Sideways changes the view so Mario will use the left wall as a background, while all shapes in “front” act as platforms.
CATGURU: You’re not from around here, are you, legendary hero?
Mario is surprised at Catguru using that phrase.
JAYKAN: Catguru- when you say legendary hero…you don’t mean….
CATGURU: As I say, Jaykan, I know everything. Which is to say, I haven’t forgotten what my mustached friend in another dimension told me of this man. I’ll be keeping an eye on him through his adventure in Mercadia.
Catguru turns back into a face.
CATGURU: Don’t stay away from my face wherever you go- seek me out whenever you stop!
Catguru proceeds to vanish.
JAYKAN: That cat seems nice…but he freaks me out.

GAMEPLAY: With his old Sideways Flip, Mario can traverse the room he and Jaykan were stuck in. Some Catknaves are around to offer some basic ideology on using Sideways Flip.

TWEEMER: Hey there, Mario, Jaykan! So, you want to know about the Hive Orb? Then you’re going to need to talk to Queen Bee- who I guard! Queen Bee is the most important thing in Dreamy Paradise. Isn’t she wonderful?
JAYKAN: Yeah- you already made that clear.
TWEEMER: Oh, I’m sorry. It’s just, since all we do is guard Queen Bee, she’s all we think about.
GUARD BEE FLYING: Actually, I play cards with the other bees.
OTHER GUARD BEE: And I play Ostroquet with Club 7.
The bees fly off as quickly as they appeared.
JAYKAN: The guard bees sure sting with their words. My gosh.
TWEEMER: D-d-don’t mind them! You can trust me to bring you to her majesty! Here- I’ll prove it by joining you two.

SIR JIBBLES: Whaddya mean, big smart Queen Bee?!
Queen Bee looks offended.
QUEEN BEE: Our grandmother already explained this to Argulus’ late wife, Alicia, when she visited 19 years ago. That monstrous Jabbi Wockey stole the Hive Orb from us shortly before the Mercadian Plague came into this Paradise! Thank the heavens the creature hasn’t destroyed it, or else Mercadia’s balance would be disturbed! Speaking of that wretched Plague-!
Back with the main trio, Jaykan still looks shocked.
TWEEMER: What’s the matter, Jaykan?
JAYKAN: That old Jibberjay! He just wants the Mercadian Treasure, like the other Knights! What do we do, Mario? …Mario?
Mario is looking intently at Queen Bee. When Jaykan and Tweemer glance over, they see Jabbis crawl all over the Queen, without her noticing.
QUEEN BEE: Is there a problem, Sir Knight?
SIR JIBBLES: Uh, no, your majesty. No problem at all. I wouldn’t wanna offend ya by saying there is a problem, because there sure isn’t! Nope! Anyways, you have to reconsi- hey, what’re you DOIN’!?
Mario climbs onto Queen Bee’s body.

MINIGAME: Mario must remove all Jabbis off Queen Bee’s body. There’s 6 waves of Jabbis, going 3-4-5-5-6-7. When Jabbis are in a group, Mario must use his hammer to bash them apart. However, using Hammer on a solo Jabbi or using it on nothing whatsoever loses Mario points, due to hurting the Queen. Getting a high score earns Mario a GP-Up Socket.

QUEEN BEE: We don’t want to hear it, Number 3!
Queen Bee grabs an Ostro by the neck.
QUEEN BEE: SIR JIBBLES!? In light of this intruder’s uncouth behaviour, we have reconsidered our stance! We will help your King after all!
SIR JIBBLES: Ya will! Golly, that’s swell, Queen Bee!
QUEEN BEE: First, however, you must eliminate the intruder.
Sir Jibbles looks at Mario.
SIR JIBBLES: Him?! But your majesty, there really were-
QUEEN BEE: This is our only offer, Sir Knight! Or perhaps you mean to undermine our authority-
SIR JIBBLES: N-n-n-no, ma’am! We’ll do it!
Sir Jibbles steps up. The other Bees also fly in.
JAYKAN: Wait! Stop!
Jaykan flies in. The move utterly surprises everyone, especially Sir Jibbles.
SIR JIBBLES: Jaykan!? What’re you doin’ all the way out here!? I didn’t want you to get involved in this!
JAYKAN: But grandpa, I want to take a trip around Mercadia! Oh- and Mario needs the Mercadian Treasures to get into the castle and get some crown back!
Mario, Tweemer, Queen Bee, the Ostro in Queen Bee’s hand, and a Jabbi peeking out a bush are surprised at this revelation.
JABBI: Huh. This invasion just got awkward.
The Jabbi disappears back into the bushes.
SIR JIBBLES: Jaykan, honey- no offense, your majesty- this is a knight’s job, not a young one like you. Why don’t you fly back home until I return?
JAYKAN: You’re almost never around! And when you are, it’s only for a few minutes before you’re gone again!

Jaykan starts pecking Sir Jibbles.
JAYKAN: Why can’t you stay for just one full day, instead of just 3 minutes!?
Jaykan looks peeved. Mario, Tweemer and Sir Jibbles back off a little.
TWEEMER: This isn’t my business, but…that temper of yours really doesn’t put you in the right here. Right, Queen Bee-?
JAYKAN: You want some of this, Tweemer!?
TWEEMER: Yikes. We have a Jack the Clubba situation on our hands. Fun fact- he ended the service of two Queen Bees.
SIR JIBBLES: Now you knock it off, young lady! Twee- I mean, Number 3 is right! I don’t know where this temper is coming from, and I should be home more- but you need to change your ways too! I don’t want to fight you!
QUEEN BEE: Sir Jibbles. Mercadian Treasure. Do you want our help, or would you put your granddaughter ahead of the entire Round Dimension?
Sir Jibbles thinks about it.
SIR JIBBLES: This entire situation- it sure is mighty unfair. But I have no choice. Red man, I, Sir Jibbles, challenge you to a battle!
JAYKAN: So that’s how it is? Fine. Mario, let’s teach grandpa a lesson.
Mario looks stern. However, he does the ellipses thing, as though he knows this isn’t right.
TWEEMER: I’m not going against Queen Bee’s orders. I’ll just sit this one out.

+A huge swarm of Jabbis arrive. Heralding their arrival is their leader- the dragonfly Jabbi Wockey.
JAYKAN: Wh-wh-what is that thing?!

The Jabbi Wockey swats Tweemer away. The Jabbi Wockey grabs Queen Bee by the head and flies off.
QUEEN BEE: What is the MEANING of this, you horrid creature?! Guards!? Off with his head!
The guard bees throw their spears at the Jabbi Wockey’s body, but it doesn’t hurt him.
JABBI WOCKEY: Cho-ho-ho-ho! Your guards have fallen behind over the years, former Queen! And what a wonderful suggestion for my share of today’s meal!
Mario jumps up to grab the Jabbi Wockey by the tail. However, he falls off.
JABBI WOCKEY: Even your new carpenter can’t stop me! But if he wants to act like a pest, the rest of my band can show him the ropes! A few of you stay behind- I’ll get cooking at the den.
+The Bees all panic for a bit, due to the dual threats of their missing queen and the Jabbis still being here. Mario, Jaykan and even Tweemer proceed to battle the bugs.

TWEEMER: You're right! I should go with you two to rescue the queen! After all, it’s-

Mario and Jaykan walk off.
TWEEMER: …Even after trying to make myself different from the others, am I really that predictable?

+GAMEPLAY: Mario and co find several fallen trees blocking the way into deeper parts of the woods. In order to reach the Jabbi Wockey’s den, they need to push the trees out of the way. Mario’s hammer will get the job done. You may also need to use Tweemer’s Hover to reach the spots where the trees can be pushed.

DREAMY PARADISE STAT-UP ITEM LOCATIONS
1. JUMP-UP BOOTS #2- Find in a high alcove of the Big Room.
2. HP UP HEART #3- Find inside the hedge maze, westwards.
3. ITEM-UP RINGS #2- Climb above the hedge maze by jumping on hard steps. Then, use Tweemer’s Hover ability or Peach’s Parasol Float to cross the maze’s top. Eventually, by heading north, Mario and co can find this Ring.
4. GP-UP SOCKETS #2- Get a high score removing Jabbis from Queen Bee’s body.
5. WEAPON-UP GLOVES #2- Enter a large Jabbi hive. Defeat all Jabbis to scare them off. Use the Hammer to knock this item off a high hive.
6. AP-UP BANDS #2- Return to the Jabbi Wockey’s room after defeating him. Then attack his mouth to make him cough this out.

CHAL: Really?! Oh, Peach, you amaze me with your initiative to do what’s right! Very well! Though…can you defend yourself from falling rocks?
Peach uses her Umbrella Shield.
CHAL: An Umbrella as a shield. Incredible. I wonder…Peach, do you suppose you could retrieve something else before we leave? It’s a lamp that will help us find crystals much more easily- possibly even in a higher quantity.
PEACH: Of course. Where is it?
CHAL: Regrettably…it’s across that pit.
The camera zooms out. A series of pits is revealed. On the other side of the pit is a golden platform with a glowing lantern.
CHAL: The floor gave out months ago, stranding that half of the cave from this half. I would retrieve it, but it’s just too big a jump, and the walls are too jagged to slide across.
PEACH: You poor thing. Don’t worry- I’ll get your lamp!
Peach flies across the pit with her umbrella. She gets the lamp. She then flies back.
CHAL: Hahaha! Excellent work, Peach! You’d make a great relic hunter! Oh, you have made me a very, very happy explorer, princess! After you!
PEACH: Thank you, Chal. Let’s go find some crystals.
Peach goes out the door, and Chal follows.

JAYKAN: Robert?! Wait, where’s…?

JAYKAN: It’s a long story. We just got back from Dreamy Paradise, actually.
ROBERT: All the way out there? What compelled you to embark on such a dangerous trek?
JAYKAN: Mario’s girlfriend got her crown stolen by Sir Mordrat, and he brought it into the castle! We were thinking if we got all the Mercadian Treasures, we’d get it back! And we got one of them!
Jaykan shows the Hive Orb.
LEON: Izzat right, love? Let me take a peek at it. Oh- true yellow, the Mercadian Crest, authentic honey covering. Blimey, this is valuable! Hey- I think I saw a symbol like this in the south end of town!
JAYKAN: But the south part of the city’s closed.
ROBERT: Actually, Jaykan, that’s why we traversed this apathetic burg- to tell you the south and south east parts of the city just re-opened! Now I have to go- my parents need me!
Robert flies off.
LEON: I’m off too, Jaykan, mate! If you come visit me, I ‘av some ‘elpful things I could give you! If you ‘ave the coinage, that is…
Leon walks off.

+Eventually, the group finds the podium in an abandoned building in the south. By placing the Hive Orb atop it, the warps to two other sections of the kingdom are activated: Elecspire Rock and Spiral Festival. In addition, the normal path to Dreamy Paradise is re-opened, allowing Mario to gain quick access to the Court of Bees.
+On top of that, the Hive Orb oozes honey…
TWEEMER: Oh, hey! It’s oozing honey again! The Queen told me it did that back when Mercadia began!
SAUF T: That’s something.
Everyone turns around to see Sauf T.
SAUF T: Looking around, this gives me an idea. Since I have nothing else to do, and since I can’t fight anyways, why don’t I turn this into a bakery? I could practice making some goods, while you search for the princess and Luigi! And of course, the people could buy my treats!
TWEEMER: I don’t know…won’t King Argulus be mad?
SAUF T: I’ll worry about that part, uh, um…
TWEEMER: Tweemer, guard of Queen B- of Dreamy Paradise.
SAUF T: Thanks. Anyways, I’ll worry about that, Tweemer. But you’re sweet for caring, anyways!
TWEEMER: R-really? Thanks! To be honest, I didn’t even try to prepare that. It just happened.

KING ARGULUS: WHAT?! You failed to retrieve the Hive Orb from Queen Bee?!
SIR JIBBLES: Gawsh, King Argulus- I’m sorry I messed up this badly! But the Jabbis, they were crawlin’ all over Queen Bee, but I was too polite ta point it out! So then this red man- I think ‘is name was Mario- he just up and jumped on her majesty and thwacked ‘em! Only her majesty weren’t happy with that, like I was afraid she would, and ordered me to-
KING ARGULUS: To eliminate him, then your granddaughter interfered, and because of that, you lost the treasure! Now they have the Hive Orb and already placed it in the podium!
SIR JIBBLES: Er, isn’t that what you wanted, Your Royal Highness?
KING ARGULUS: Eventually. But I need to investigate at least one of the treasures before we place them.
SIR JIBBLES: Why?
KING ARGULUS: I’m afraid that’s a matter between only me and one of the other knights- who should have returned from the west by now. The point is, I mistakenly ordered the others to show your granddaughter mercy. However, if she continues getting in our way, her injustice will be repaid…with justice. Have I made myself clear with you?!
SIR JIBBLES: King Argulus-
KING ARGULUS: JIBBLES! Do I have your loyalty!?
SIR JIBBLES: ...fine. I won’t hold back next time we fight.
KING ARGULUS: Hmmm…very well. You may leave.
Sir Jibbles leaves the room.
KING ARGULUS: Now, I must contact the others still with us. Crystal ball- call up Sir Clubbalot and Lady Quarrina.
VOICE: As you command.
On the crystal ball, two images show up- one of a large red Clubba, and the other of a female blue fish person.
SIR CLUBBALOT ( i.imgur.com/RNDWpRh.png ): King Argulus! I didn’t think you’d be contacting us so quick!
LADY QUARRINA ( i.imgur.com/BHcRPhn.png ): What’s the occasion, my king?
KING ARGULUS: I am issuing you two a warning. A man in red is traveling the south of Mercadia. He is being accompanied by a soldier from Dreamy Paradise and Sir Jibbles’ granddaughter. Deal with them, as well as any other allies they may gather.
SIR CLUBBALOT: Huh huh huh! Don’t sweat it, King Argulus! You know me- my might will make things right! If snake boy here doesn’t slow me down, they’re as good as taken care of!
Sir Clubbalot vanishes off the crystal ball.
KING ARGULUS: …will it, Sir Clubbalot?
LADY QUARRINA: King Argulus, you don’t seem so well. You know we’re all doing our best, like you.
KING ARGULUS: That’s quite enough, Lady Quarrina. Just keep an eye out for those three, while performing your anointed tasks. Especially the... sensitive matter I left for you…

Before Mario leaves for the next part of the game…
TWEEMER: Maybe we shouldn’t jump the stinger on the next leg of our search, guys! Is there someone in town we can talk to?
JAYKAN: There’s…one guy I know. Let me tell you, though- he’s a lame duck. He’s in the southeast end.
Eventually, Mario and co find a tent. Within the tent is the shaman-like fellow from before Chapter 1.
“MERLON”: Jaykan! How nice of you to drop by! And just as I predicted, you brought some new friends- a bee and a red man! Allow me to introduce myself! I am the great Merlon, fortuneteller of Mercadia, and I can see into the future!
JAYKAN: You mean you just make lucky guesses, Cael. Everyone knows only the wizards in the Mercadian Knights can see into the future. I heard they need a special herb, though…? Anyway, if you keep scamming people, they might shut you down.
MERLON/CAEL: Why must you steer my new customers away from belief, Jaykan? Very well! My real name is Cael. I actually gave myself a new name after some old guy visited the castle 24 years ago to double check something. Came from Flipsoid- Flopseed- OK, I forget where he traveled from. But my method still gives incredibly accurate results! You’d be surprised what reading the stars would reveal. And it makes people feel better! Oooooooh-
JAYKAN: Stop doing that.
CAEL: Oh, you’re no fun. If you want to know the best road to take, give me around- 10 coins. Then I, the great Merlon, will reveal onto you- the FUTURE!
GAMEPLAY/STORY: Merlon/Cael can indeed see into the future! …by looking into his telescope while a light show plays. By a strange coincidence, his advice is exactly what Mario needs to do at each point in the story.
GAMEPLAY: In addition to “The Road Ahead” (story solutions), Cael also gives “Treasure Readings” (the location of the Stat Up Items). Pick one of the six types of Stat-Up Items, and Cael will literally go down a list…while a light show plays. ……ooooooh!

+At this point, Mario can go to either Elecspire Rock OR Spiral Festival. For the sake of this topic, Elecspire Rock will be covered first.

CHAPTER 2- ELECSPIRE ROCK

+Mario and co. arrive in a stony field, a stormy cloud overhead. Up ahead, they see Sir Clubbalot talking with Sir Mordrat.
CLUBBALOT: I keep TELLING you, Mordrat! I’ll go get the treasure from King Reznidae! We go a LONG way back, huh huh! You just slither along the mountain and soften those bozos up!
MORDRAT: I resssssspectfully disagree, Sir Clubbalot. Thessssssssse mountains are old and weathered. You’re probably much bigger than when you came to sssssssssserve the knights.
CLUBBALOT: Yuh huh huh! You got a point there, snake.
MORDRAT: Anywaysssssss, I was thinking I go grab the treasurrrrre from Reznidae. I’m much fasssssster, much more agile, and much ssssssssmarter than you are.
CLUBBALOT: …what do ya mean by that last one, Greeny? You think I’m stupid!?
MORDRAT: NononnonoNONO that’s not what I- hey look! It’s the red man and Jaykan!
CLUBBALOT: Nice try, snakey! But that trick doesn’t work on-
MARIO: HiiII!
Clubbalot turns around.
CLUBBALOT: What dya know? He lacked the muscles, but he was right. I guess I was HEY!
Mordrat slithers away.
CLUBBALOT: Oooooooh! He got away! Thanks for nothing, red! You might be my favorite color, but your tiny words ruined my decision! And you’re probably not that strong, so you were wrong! Hammer Bros, here’s your chance to beef up!
Two Hammer Bros attack. A battle ensues.

CLUBBALOT: Oh yeah- you’re travelling with this guy, Jaykan? Could you move over a little while I smash his stache in?
JAYKAN: No! Mario needs the treasure more than you guys!
CLUBBALOT: Look, I’m gonna be honest with you- King Argulus heard about what happened in the bee place, and he wasn’t happy at all! He wants red, you, and the bee gone! Mostly red, and kind of you- though I think he really hates that bee.
TWEEMER: Oh no! I hope Queen Bee doesn’t get in trouble over this!
CLUBBALOT: And there’s one other thing I should bring up- do you notice my GIANT SERVICE-ENDING CLUB!!!
Clubbalot holds his club up.
JAYKAN: Yeah. You’ve shown me that. Every time we’ve talked. Like how often Tweemer talks about his queen. HINT HINT.
CLUBBALOT: This club makes me mighty, and might always makes right. So I’m only gonna ask you one extra time because I like you around the castle, Jaykan- move out of the way? If you don’t, I don’t think me or the other knights will offer you mercy- not even Sir Jibbles.
JAYKAN: Not even…my grandpa-
+Before Jaykan can decide, a lightning bolt strikes a nearby Elecspire. The shock electrocutes Sir Clubbalot, and he faints.
Tweemer examines Sir Clubbalot.
TWEEMER: Hmmm…OK. His service hasn’t ended, friends! He’s just out cold!
Mario speaks.
JAYKAN: You’re right. Maybe we should move him away from these spires.
The group moves Clubbalot.
TWEEMER: Wow, this guy’s heavy!
JAYKAN: There’s a lot of ELECspires in this-AREA, Mario! If they HIT us, we’ll be paralyzed at the START of the next fight! The more you get hiiiiit, the more PARAlyzed you’ll be! So TRY to avoid STANDING near them when they start to spark. And THERE! Out of the way!

GAMEPLAY: For the first part of Elecspire Rock, Mario must avoid the Elecspires when they’re about to attract lighting.
+The first screen is just done in interims.
+The second screen alternates between sets of Elecspires.
+The linked third and fourth screens attract lightning to their spires one by one, in order. Basically, it’s a race.
+The fifth and six screens have only a few safe points before all the Elecspires go off at once. Mario and co. must find the only grass that hasn’t been sizzled for safe points. Enemies will also use these safe points, necessitating their defeat in battle.

MOE: I’m Moe the Sledge Bro. I’m the best blacksmith in all of Mercadia, along with my other brothers! …usually. It’s been just me for the last little while.
JAYKAN: The Mercadian Knights?
MOE: …actually, yeah. The Knights called my coworkers away. I’ve been working on their armory nonstop. I’m not mad about the work, though… just the Knights’ priorities. How’d you know?
JAYKAN: Jaykan. Whenever something happens in town, it’s them. It’s always them.
MOE: Ewwww. So things have gotten that bad, huh? A bit of a negative view, though. Anyway, what brings you three all the way out here?
Mario explains the group’s quest to Moe.
MOE: So you want the Mercadian Treasures, too. Sir Mordrat said the same thing nearly an hour ago. He also said…a man in red and a little bird were getting in his way.
TWEEMER: This doesn’t sound good.
MOE: Don’t worry- I’m not against you. I know I can trust you three. But the mountains are dangerous. Tell you what…why don’t you help me a little? I need a new sledgehammer. The truth is- I broke my old one on some hard rocks. If you can break them down, then lend me your hammer, I can make a new one for myself. Sound reasonable?
MARIO: Hmm…OK.
MOE: Great. The rocks are outside the door. Go get them!
After seeing Mario use his hammer, Moe uses it and the hard rocks to create his new sledge.
MOE: This is amazing. This is the most powerful hammer I’ve ever created! Ahahahaha! There’s that blacksmithing spirit! Where did you get your own hammer?
Mario explains. Moe is shocked.
MOE: It was just on a shelf in your princess’ own castle? Hmm… the Mercadian Knights have more than enough metal to get by for another 3 months. Do you three mind if…I tag along?
TWEEMER: Go right ahead! The more, the merrier!
MOE: Thank you all!
+MOE JOINS THE PARTY! Use Moe’s button to throw an arching hammer, reaching high and tough objects! In battle, Moe can Throw his hammer, or Temper an ally to give their next attack a Fire attribute!
+Using Moe’s Hammer Throw, the group activates a switch drawing a secret bridge to Elecspire Rock’s second part.
