Gameplay look good too (aside from the Toads collecting mini-game which i'am not fond of).
Still look too much "New Super Mario & Luigi Bros: Guest starring Paper Mario" to my taste.
I also noticed that the numbered title of the M&L games is absent on this one...considering the re-using of DT engine and lot of assets, i kinda wonder if Paper Jam is supposed to be some filler game in-between M&L4 (Dream Team) and a future M&L5 ?
Still, all Mario & Luigi usually use new sprites and assets for each games.
So since this game use lot of DT assets + stuff imported from NSMB and Sticker Star, i can't help but feel it's merely a side project to make peoples wait until they create the new sprites and assets needed for a future M&L.
I agree with your points in the video, for the most part. On the one hand, the gameplay does look about as solid as Bowser's Inside Story and Dream Team (and the rest of the Mario & Luigi series), so it's gonna be better than Sticker Star on that basis alone.
But I'm also only cautiously excited about the game in general. Seems like it's at that point where you just don't know whether it's going to pick up later in terms of story and characters or end up as some sort of NSMB esque RPG like Sticker Star was. Given Starlow's presence I suspect we might at least see a few original Mario & Luigi characters appear, but there's still a definite worry about how much the pre Sticker Star Paper Mario games will be represented.

Seriously what is Nintendo's problem with the NSMB style ? They shove it absolutely everywhere which is really starting to make it repetitive and bland...
Can't they make their own style like SM3DW or the previous RPGs ?

...Royal Sticker confirmed. Ugh. I wish the series had stopped at SPM, maybe then we'd be seeing stuff from that game instead. Also, there's Nabbit. And no sign of Popple...

Nabbit is still cool and one of the more "unique" mainstream charcters. Kinda surprised to see him tho
