The Mario RPGS:
Super Mario RPG (SMRPG)
Paper Mario (PM)
Paper Mario: TTYD (TTYD)
Super Paper Mario (SPM)
Paper Mario: Sticker Star (PMSS)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (SS)
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (PiT)
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's inside Story (BiS)
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (DT)
Now for the difficult part....rating them. xD I love ALL the Mario RPGs, so rating them was hard. With most of them, there were only subtle things that made it better than the others. So, in my opinion....
BiS > TTYD > SMRPG = SS > PM > DT > PiT > SPM > PMSS
Bowsers Inside Story:
My first Mario RPG, and that might make me a bit biased. Regardless, I have the fondest memories of this game. It had great locations, terrific music, and FAWFUL! The humor is also the best I've seen in the Mario RPG series. Boowser being a main character in this game also added to the terrificness!
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door:
It made a vast improvement over it's predecessor, graphics and gameplay wise. The island and the mystery train were two of my favorite places, along with the glitz pit, of course! I loved the X-nauts as the bad guys, and their base on the moon. While Bowser is kinda....derpy in this game, I loved the sections where you played with him.
Super Mario RPG:
Ah. I have duch fond summer memories playing this game. I would stay up to 5 in the morning playing this game, I just had to bet that boss! I loved the music in this game, as well as Geno being one of my all time favorite Mario characters In addition to this, thos was the first time that Bowser wasn't "the bad guy." Playing along with him was an exhilarating, fresh experience. Every battle brought something new to the table, along with the final boss being...much less scary than I had expected. In my opinion, this game had the best final dungeon as well.
Superstar Saga:
I couldn't say that this game beat SMRPG, but I also couldn't say that SMRPG beat it. They both have excellent music, and a really cool final dungeon. Bros. attacks were great, and the humor was fantastic. (Remember the part where Luigi dressed up as Princess Peach? xD)
Paper Mario:
Definitely nott a bad game, but it is outweighed. Bowser being the main villain was a bit too cliche for my taste, but the good far outweighs the bad! Shy guy toybox was amazing and is still one of my favorite locations of all the Mario RPGS. It ranks low on the list because...I don't know.....did it seem like it started off SUPER slow to anyone else?
Dream Team:
I loved this game, it just seemed a bit pale in comparison to the others. The "dream" aspect of it seemed a bit gimmicky, but it played out well. I liked the giant battles (suprisingly more than BiS'), and the music was great. Cliche Bowser being the last boss again, but I dealt with it. Antasma was great, too.
Partners In Time:
This actually used to closer to the top of the list, but once you play the rest of the RPGs it makes this was seem much too linear. The time travel thing was super gimmicky, and overall it did not play out very well. The shroobs were also not my favorite, but I liked the twist at the end. It's not at the bottom because of the babies. They were a welcome edition and I loved them.
<3
Super Paper Mario:
Was an ok game. I've played this game several times, and ir gets a little more boring each time. All of the areas were kind of boring but I liked the 3D flipping aspect, though it was incredibly stupid at times. Also, Fort Francis was amazing.
Sticker Star:
Lol. This was not a good game. They took away the partners, which was my favorite part of the PM series. Also, the humor is a very important part of the Mario RPG series, and there is little dialogue and even less humor. Cliche locations, Cliche story, Cliche characters, no NPCs, pointless battles, and more made out for a not so good game.
So, that's my list guys! I'm interested to read yours!
